I’m a very active man so I’m always on the go relying on coffee to help push through the lunch breaks to meet deadlines and projects. From either the usual gym after work to training in combat sports or the weekend rides to the mountains on my Ducati Superbike. I’ve been searching for something that wouldn’t get my heart beating too hard causing anxiety but also deliver the strong focus and concentration that my career and personal life demands. Enter Genius Consciousness. I waited to try it before my usual Sunday rides in the twisty canyon roads in Southern California. I felt this would be a good experiment because on a sport bike, focus, concentration, calm, and confidence is needed to wrestle the machine into every corner and obstacle without causing a mistake which often leads to fatalities if not mitigated correctly. My usual ride on Sundays start at 8am. It’s usually a good 40 miles of twisties, corners, sweepers, and blind corners. So you’ll usually be on alert at all times as you navigate each turn by turn to not die. The key is to stay focused, relaxed, and ready to make corrections when needed at the split second. I usually ride within 60% of my mental limit to add a buffer of 10% in case I go aggressive. Speeds would be triple digits approaching a corner dropping to double, then back to triple digits upon exit. There isn’t any room for mistakes. The mind has to see every corner at that split second it is presented, and placing the bike on the ideal lean angle and trajectory to hit the apex and corner exit is crucial. Hit it too soon, you end up wide. Hit it late, you might panic brake or run out of asphalt causing a deadly crash. It needs to be entered just right. A good late apex with a very fast counter steer to set the desired trajectory through the apex and out to the widest part of the road all while staying smooth, calm, focused, and concentrated. Once this is consistent, the rider’s pace becomes faster without doing much. It’s not uncommon to be cornering a very tight corner set at 35mph at triple digit speed if done properly. Ok so back to the product. The packaging is the usual you’d see on every supplement. A box and then the small tub. I really do wish it had more than 15 servings for the price point. As we are monthly creatures of habit. Everything is done monthly. Including our bills. Genius, if you are reading this, consider increasing the serving size to 30 for that price. I just feel that the price is a little bit up there for the common folk to attain. The flavor. Now this tastes really nice and light. It’s almost like a melon which tastes cool and refreshing. Add some ice water and you are golden. Doesn’t even seem like you’re drinking a supplement. The ingredients. These have most of the popular nootropics that’s out in the market now. You can google each and read for yourself. It makes it easier to just take a serving from this product versus piece mealing it yourself. Price point. Like I stated earlier, it’s up there. The product is premium for sure but you can find similar ingredient for far less. But you pay for the quality and convenience. How it mixes. It mixes easily when added to water. Give it a good stir and sip. Some particles will show up but it’ll dissolve as you give it a good stir for 30 seconds. Ice water seems to make it taste fantastic. Now for the best part, how it makes me feel: This stuff is amazing! I usually take a caffeine pill to give me the boost and focus but this takes it to another level. I took my full scoop an hour before my ride. And around 15 minutes, you can start to feel that calm and confident energy begin to take over. You seem to focus on things but not stay fixated. It makes you think as if you are looking at it from many perspectives. It’s hard to explain. Usually, when I pin the throttle, anxiety would set in and I would back off from fear. But with this, I felt confident, calm, relaxed, and certain in my abilities. It’s feel as if I’ve done this before and today is just another minor day that I can’t handle if that makes sense. Every corner I took, I would enter it with higher speeds than before. But I noticed that I was very calm and confident on how to negotiate it fast and safely. It’s like I can see throughout every blind corner. And I can feel everything that my bike is doing. I can feel the tyre traction and it’s limits, the trajectory, the corner shape, the speed going in, my body’s positioning, deformations on the road that I automatically steer around, and how cool and calm I was in these stressful situations. I was also happier and amazed on how fast I was going. I was t sleepy. I wasn’t too wired. I was in the zone. I think that’s it. It helped me stay in the zone every athlete speaks of. Where everything just clicks and works. It feels like a meditation but I’m flying through the corners like a jet plane. Amazing!! Also, I notice that my usual problems that I have, I can see through it with the solution. Wth is this!?? Whatever it is, I like it!! They say we only use a small portion of our brain power to solve tasks and problems. With this stuff, it’s like I’m using my entire brain!! I understand situations with so much clarity and focus that anxiety and fear don’t even stand a chance distracting me. Bottom line. If you’re on the fence on trying this stuff, I highly recommend you do. It’s a bit costly but it’s so worth it. It has enhanced my riding skills and will continue to use it for my preworkouts and during stressful days at the office. Now I have my Genius powder. Okay, so I did not know about the free product in exchange for a review thing until I got my order and it came with a little flyer urging me to make a review for a free bottle (btw when you do the review you get to choose the product you want but this product is not one of them, it is only less expensive products such as Genius Mushrooms, Genius L-Arginine). If I had known in advance I would have been really suspicious of all the good reviews. However I'm really glad that didn't happen because the truth is I am really happy with this stuff! If I could give half stars I would give it 4.5 out of 5 but I can't and so I gave it a 5 because I feel like 4/5 is too low. The reason I would give it 4.5 stars if I could is because it has caffeine in it and I really would rather it didn't, or had less. But that being said it doesn't have a ton. You are supposed to take half a scoop to a full scoop. I take half a scoop and it has 50mg of caffeine which is the same as what is in half a cup of most kinds of coffee. Now, I'll tell you about my experience. I work as a principal software engineer and I have ADD. My job is very mentally tiring because I have to do a lot of context switching throughout the day, talk to a lot of people, have meetings, design things, mentor newer developers, review people's work, as well as do my own programming tasks. I take Concerta which is a time release version of Ritalin and it calms me and helps me be functional. It is not like you hear in the media, it does not make me be some superstar with some crazy ability to focus. It basically just puts me closer to people who don't have ADD. But when I have a bigger day than normal, by the end of the day I am mentally exhausted because thinking and doing thinking based work for 8 hours is really hard for someone with ADD. I can barely think. I forget words. It's really rough. So when I know I will have a big day I have a top up pill I take at around 10am, which is 18mg. It improves things a bit but I'm still wrecked at the end of the day. So now what I've tried is instead of that top up I've tried taking a half scoop of this and the experience is way way way better. So much better that I don't think I'm going to use the top up pill again. This stuff can not replace my morning Concerta because it is definitely different. It gives me energy which I don't need and I find myself rocking in my chair a bit which is part of my ADD, something that I do when I don't take my Concerta. The Concerta helps me calm down, sit still, and be less distracted, it gives my brain the stimulation it needs for my brain to stop distracting me by seeking out stimulation. The Genius Conciousness can not replace the Concerta because it won't give my brain that. BUT Concerta with this Genius Conciousness as a mid morning top up (on the days I need it) keeps me from being absolutely wrecked. I feel productive and awake. At the end of one of these big days I may be sleepy but that's different than feeling exhausted and wrecked. The biggest thing is that on these big days I can STILL THINK at the end of the day. Where the 18mg Concerta top up pill is a bandaid that _just_ gets me through the day this supplement makes me feel like I haven't had such a big day at all. The reason why I would like it to not have caffeine or at least as much caffeine is because I can feel the caffeine effects in addition to the other effects. I don't need the energy (or as much energy anyway), I just need the clarity. But it's not that much so if you are a coffee drinker you probably won't notice or mind. I am super sensitive to caffeine and don't drink coffee or tea because I end up feeling jittery through the day and due to my ADD, combining jitters with difficulty thinking can cause me some pretty crappy anxiety. With this stuff I can feel the energy but don't feel jittery so it hasn't caused me any anxiety which is pretty nice. The last thing is that I was curious one day when I had a really bad sleep. When I have bad sleeps and then have to work I usually end up feeling fairly ill by early afternoon. So one time I was curious and decided to have this drink at 7am shortly after I took my Concerta and I have to say it was a pretty nice experience. In the morning I definitely had too much energy and I wasn't sure how the day was going to go. The tiredness with the caffeine felt the same way as it would if I had a coffee. The difference though is that by late morning I was really starting to feel better and by afternoon I felt normal, really good even. I was sleepy when I got home but I could still think clearly. I can't emphasize enough how much my ADD combined with being tired affects my ability to think. I know that most people reading this are probably thinking they can relate but what I am talking about is not being able to form sentences at all, not remembering what a fork is called. I mean really really bad to the point that sometimes I worry that I am going to get early dementia. But with Genius Consciousness my experience is so much improved that I am going to keep buying it (even though it's so damn expensive -- I am in Canada so with the conversion it's really a lot of money). ... show more
