Part of my Stanley travel mug literally exploded from doing this (I guess the powder releases additional heat and/or pressure when reacting with water). The buttons and seals blew, and steam shot everywhere. So I bought this to clean my quartz bangers for dabbing cannabis concentrates after a post on Reddit. I’m amazed at how wonderful this product removes cooked on oils from quartz. I put the quartz in a sandwich bag and add warm water and the teeniest amount of this power and shake the bag then let it sit overnight. A hot water rinse the next day and the quartz is new again. This is the best glassware cleaner I have found. Leaving the solution overnight in my glass bong removed stains that has persisted for five years and three other cleaning solutions. It is now clean as a whistle and I never thought it would be back to its original condition!

I bought this in hopes of cleaning glass jars I use for everything from drinking high fat drinks out of, to making kefir, brining, and fermenting. Soap, to my mind, in my area, was just not cutting it. I had some dim hope this might actually work. Work it does. And a little goes a long ways. In a five gallon pail, over a period of days, I cleaned a couple dozen jars, from half gallon to pint or less? The thing is, all of my jars were like brand new. Some work is required. I expected that. But no more than I would normally use to wash. I did wash them out, with soap and water first. As I had been doing that anyway. But, I did it further in an attempt, a successful one, to extend the life of the solution. I finished every jar in my inventory after feeling, with as much work as soapy water was requiring, that I might just toss them. Sparkling, and as much clarity as the glass ever had. This stuff is AWESOME. My wife thinks coffee pots should be seasoned. Meaning, it should never be cleaned. That's gross. I don't drink coffee but I'm the one making it and cleaning the thermal carafe and this took care of the stains VERY EASILY. And, it doesn't require a lot of product to do so. I mean, this made the carafe look new on the inside. 1 pound will last me a long time because I don't clean it every day or even every week. Maybe once a month so this'll last several years. I came across this cleaner while looking for something strong to remove old badly baked grease from frying pans. I had no expectations it will work. To my great amazement it did!!! There are some limitations though. It works wonders on anodized cookware, stainless steel, hard enamel. It needs time and temperature. You need to immerse the cookware in a large pot and heat it to boil several times during 24 hours or so. Scrubbing is not needed after on most coatings. Made badly stained enamel tea pot white again. I was very surprised. It tarnishes bare aluminum. It did not even made a dent in the black crust on a sand cast aluminum frying pan. Still not sure about teflon coating. I experimented with one old and quite beaten. It seemed the teflon chipped in a few spots. It may be very well because that teflon was just at the end of life and came off by age and prior abuse. I'd ask the manufacturer before experimenting with newer and expensive teflon cookware you are not ready to throw away. In summary, this cleaner is a must in any kitchen! ... show more

    • Works Great for Cleaning Tea Stains!

I had some really dingy Finum brewing baskets and spoons used for making herbal, rooibos, and black teas. The brewing baskets were so full of buildup that they started clogging up. I tried scrubbing them with all sorts of things. Nothing worked very well. Someone mentioned this as a solution. It works great! It works better two nights than overnight, though. The basket I put in there overnight still had one little area that was dingy. But, the other one that was in there for two nights was completely clean! My stainless steel spoons that were all tea stained also were shining clean. I washed and rinsed them with soap and water after and eveyrthing looks and works fine now. ... show more

I’ve made wine for years and never had a problem removing the Krausen line while fresh immediately after removing it the wine from the lees. Then I started making meads and melomels. The proteins in honey are radically different and I thought I would have to toss my favorite carboy because I couldn’t get my hand in there to clean the krausen line. This PBW CLEANER cleaned the krausen line like magic. You can use it more effectively than the normal directions. It says 1 ounce per gallon. I started adding 1 pint .5 liter and 1/8th tsp PBW in a 1 gallon fermenter. Shake well and the krausen line is gone almost like to magic. LOVE PBW Highly recommended ... show more
