My five month old was starting to struggle to nap during the day so I had to look for a solution. In the room my baby sleeps, there are four windows, which would cost about $200 to buy blackout curtains and rods for. I ended up deciding to try these out to save myself money. I only paid around $30 to cover four windows. We have blinds so I put the velcro on the outer edges of the windows (on textured walls) so the “curtains” would be easier to place and remove. Look at the picture to know what I mean. I am able to remove the curtains every time my baby wakes up from a nap and let sunlight in easily. The velcro has stayed up for our small windows (26”x35”), but the velcro kept falling from the walls near our larger windows (38”x59”). I think the issue was the weight of the curtains for the larger windows. I ended up sticking the velcro on the glass of our larger windows behind our blinds and the curtains haven’t fallen after weeks. The only issue with sticking the curtains to the window is that you either have to go through the trouble of going behind the blinds to remove the curtains everyday for some sunlight or you have to permanently leave them there like I did. The room is very dark with these curtains and my baby is napping way better during the day now! Baby used to be a day-contact-napper and night-crib-sleeper but now he sleeps in his crib during the day, I’m thinking because he thinks it’s nighttime when he naps. Update: Seems obvious now but the adhesive will melt off after a while if put directly on the window because of the heat during summer. If you want a long-term curtain, just know you’ll have to constantly readjust these because of the adhesive. ... show more

One of the best investments you can make if you have light soil like me. It doesn't look as pretty, but it blocks out the light coming through the window very well and has helped me sleep better.

    • IT DOES NOT COME WITH VELCRO!!!

Now that I have it up, it looks great. However, I don't have the ease of putting it up and taking it down I was hoping for. I have to invest on velcro discs (an extra $10 purchase and a project for later). 1 star off for Customers claiming it comes with VELCRO. 1 star off for the Company NOT confirming that it does NOT come with VELCRO. It is a disc like wafer and sticky on both sides that you mash the material onto. Had I have known it didn't come with velcro beforehand, I would given it a 4 star rating and high praise. Whether or not I would have bought it, that's a good question. Material is great for what it does. Now I'm thinking of trimming the material to the exact size of the glass portion of the window, blocking out the sun and still have ability to open and shut without removing the material. ... show more

As a nightshift nurse these were a lifesaver!! Pretty easy to install if you have help to measure and hang. The Texas heat did melt the adhesive and make them fall a couple of times. The product itself is easy to use and blocks light completely. However, we placed this behind the blinds (we already had them but realized we needed her room darker) in my daughters nursery. I finally got around to switching out her curtains to blackout curtains so I was taking down this product and realized our blinds were warped and stained a brownish/yellow. I remember the product smelling really bad the first couple days and I thought it was because they were new. However, I realized it was causing the window to be so hot that it burned by blinds and all I can think about is what would have happened if they caught fire next to my daughters crib.
