  • Works Great
Style: Printer (WF-7720)
So ... this printer is huge! The stated dimensions are correct, and it's hard to be smaller and handle 13x19 prints and 11x17 scans, but buyer beware--this printer is massive. Anyway, once you get over the size, there's a lot to love For starters it does everything you'd expect (scan, copy, print, fax,etc...) but again, it can do all of the above at enormous sizes (while still handling letter sized tasks with aplomb). It supports two sided printing and scans, and it has huge trays for stuff going in (35 page feeder for scans and 500 page paper tray) as well as output. Being an Epson, it does pretty darn good photo printing (even edge to edge prints at poster sizes), but this is more of a office printer that is aimed at PowerPoints than a large format photo printer (Epson will sell you one of those for quite a bit more, but they'll blow you away). In the context of small office use, it's crazy fast, doesn't need to warmup (like a laser), and uses pigment inks (bleed less and simply are better than dye based inks). It's easy to add to a network, does quite a bit without a PC (using the small but effective screen), and supports various phones and tablets. What's not to like? Well, if you don't need large format printing AND scanning, there are options that print large format prints and scan legal size documents that are much smaller, and ones that max out for legal sized prints and scans that are smaller still. The price is very competitive, but you aren't getting the heavy build of a HP LaserJet (especially the ones of years gone by), and consumables do add up. I'd recommend this for a small office that needs more than a consumer printer but doesn't want to get into managed printing or invest in a laser printer. ... show more

  • Imagine having this huge printer
Style: Printer (WF-7720)
Decent printer but get the off brand ink since the cartridges are so small.

  • Try it, you'll like it
Style: Printer (WF-7720)
I don't know what else you could want in a home based printer and now that the price has decreased $50!!!! I've had it about a month now. Want to use it for my startup business as well as personal stuff. Just think, wireless, duplex printing and up to 13x19 sheet size, scanning and faxing. Handles it all and I hope it lasts FOREVER!!! UPDATE: Aug. 29 and I still love it. Have had no problems or issues (wireless hookup). Notice that the test prints don't turn out so good when you are really low on ink. Change the ink and viola. . . .back in business. Hope it lasts FOREVER! ... show more

  • Borderless options are limited by paper type, guzzles ink like crazy
Style: Printer (WF-7720)
I've had a host of problems with this printer over the last few months. I'm not going to go into too big of detail (would take too long...) so I'll try to keep it short. You cannot print properly from USB. If you try, your images will print in a distorted black color (yes I used compatible file extensions). Have fun setting up wireless printing. Printer needs to be RIGHT next to your router to identify it. If you want to print anything larger then 8.5x11 sheets of paper, you need to install the driver software. I couldn't get the wifi version of the driver to work, even when during installation, when both printer and computer recognized each other. Gave me a vague error message "could not connect", Kay. This left me with my only option, connect printer directly to computer with USB. This worked for me, however now my printer has to be on the floor (yay..). My absolute BIGGEST issue with this printer is that you CANNOT print large border-less sheets of paper (anything bigger then 11") WITHOUT USING PHOTO OR SUPER THICK MATTE PAPER. I wanted to use this printer for 11x17" sheets, bright white, 70 LB cover sheets of paper. Yes, the printer limits you to only using photo paper for these prints. So what happens if you TRY to print borderless without super special paper? The printer uses x10 as much ink and your images end up watery and messed up. Here is how it goes. Cassette 1 (paper tray 1) can only print borderless 11x17 with the following formats -> ultra glossy, semi glossy, premium glossy, premium matte. You CANNOT print borderless with any other type of paper. You are severely limited. This printer is absolutely worthless for what I purchased it for (borderless, 11x17" prints on 70 LB bright white paper). Ah, and have fun trying to get it to work with re-manufactured ink cartridges. Do they work? Yes. But it will yell and scream at you over and over for re-installs and "ink checks". This thing guzzles ink like crazy. I printed 20 pages with new cartridges before needing to insert more. A very frustrating experience. ... show more

  • Epson Workforce WF-7720
Style: Printer (WF-7720)
initial impressions • this is one Big Dog for the sale price of $199! • had to re-arrange my office to fit it in • fairly easy set up • except for a user-replaceable printhead, has most of the features I was looking for like print, copy, scan, fax, dual paper trays, wide format options, wired and wireless networking • came with quick set-up instructions and a basic quick guide; more detailed instructions are on-line and would benefit from more illustrated step by step detail • very good print/scan quality • a very Window/Android flavor to much of the UI; and not as user-friendly as the nearly ten year old Brother MFC-6490CW it replaces • Touchscreen Control Panel’s a bit chunky and slower than the videos would lead one to believe; WF-7720 utilities are placed in Systems Preferences in the Dock on a Mac under Printers & Scanners and the Epson Scan 2 utility can also be put in the Dock so settings/configurations can be more easily be accessed from the desktop [better seen from a 27" screen than a 4.3" touch screen] • has a funky maintenance box that could be better located and designed for reuse, more easily rechargeable and accessible; as it is, it’s a bit pricey consumable • ink’s not the most expensive, nor is it the least • still learning all the features/capabilities • a bit of overkill but here’s hoping it lasts as long! ... show more
