🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The Epson XP15000 Printer exhibits proficient printing capabilities with high-quality results, notably when used in combination with Epson ink and paper. Ease of use regarding setup is mixed with some finding the process smooth while others faced challenges. Its ability to print on different types of paper including thick cardstock has been appreciated. However, there have been issues reported about the printer unfairly indicating the absence of paper in the feed or a paper jam.

Pros

  • 👍 Produces high quality prints, especially when using Epson ink and paper
  • 👍 Successful printing on varied paper types including heavy cardstock
  • 👍 Handles multiple sheets in the rear feed
  • 👍 Good speed and processing power

Cons

  • 👎 Regularly indicates no paper in the feed or a paper jam, when not applicable
  • 👎 Initial setup can be challenging for some individuals
  • 👎 Consumes a significant amount of ink, requiring frequent cartridge changes
  • 👎 Lack of thorough instructions for technical maintenance, such as cleaning the roller

Should I Buy It?

If high-quality prints, ability to handle various paper types, including thick cardstock, and fast printing are your priorities, then this Epson XP15000 Printer would be a solid choice. However, if you'd prefer a printer that doesn't require frequent ink changes or does not pose minor challenges during initial setup, you may wish to look for alternatives.

  • Picture quality is absolutely amazing.
Style: XP-15000
Bought this for my wife as she likes to do photos and mini projects and this does everything that she wants and then some. The quality of all the images that are printed are absolutely amazing and the ease of use is great.

  • Highly Recommend
Style: XP-15000
This is my first dedicated photo printer. I was pretty nervous after reading the reviews, but I am so glad I didn't listen. I'm convinced a lot of the negative reviews are user error. I've printed a fair amount of photos already and I've never had an issue except one paper jam, and that was my fault. The print quality is amazing, although I find it seems the photos may print slightly darker than on any of my three displays. I've always had a very hateful relationship with printers, so when I set this up in 30 minutes I was absolutely shocked. Calibration is easy, I found and installed the drivers quickly, the paper loading is quick and seems to even be able to take that last sheet from the tray. Pros -Awesome print quality -Prints up to "13 -Easy to use -Rather quieter than expected Cons -Slightly heaver than I thought -Expensive ink -Decides to print photos with excessive banding then not do it again the second time after changing nothing, but only if the earth is at a right angle to Venus during an eclipse. Overall, I'm in love with this printer. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • I believed the generally positive reviews. Now I feel stupid.
Style: XP-15000
Pros: Print quality is good, not outstanding. Lines very slightly blurry. Images faintly muddy. Not a deal breaker. Cons: After the first few prints, i have never printed ANYTHING without error messages, usually incorrect. "Needs paper" when there is plenty, etc. Never get more than 2-3 prints without having to replace an ink cartridge, despite using XL for this very reason. Epson has blocked third-party cartridges, though Amazon continues to sell the useless items. This means the per page cost is very high, and the per page hassle factor is ridiculous. Output tray, which is supposed to retract automatically, fell off after a few days, and could not be re-attached, even with manual, youtube guides, and three different competent people attempting. Though I've gotten less than 100 prints, I am retiring this piece of junk. I'll try a tank-type printer. Also by Epson! So watch for another embarrassed review. ... show more

  • Printer
Style: XP-15000
I printer does a wonderful job on printing. But it always states it is not on line. It takes a few extra minutes to print. It is hard wired to my computer so the statement is it not wired drives me a little nuts. But the pictures always are beautiful.

  • No improvements to the Epson Photo Stylus 1400, only losses
Style: XP-15000
It's a printer. It really only has one job. Print what you tell it to. Let's say you check the ink, load the jobs, listen for the first to print & walk away & dress for work. You hear it's not printing. It is low on ink but just struggles. It does the infinite spinning wheel, claims the printer isn't connected [it is,] doesn't tell you it needs ink--[the indicator you looked at before you started the project is from a couple of days ago, why the fart not instant EPSON???!], now I have to intuit that it needs ink. All the jobs loaded are lost. You have to turn it off, disconnect to your computer, turn it back on. Now it says it needs ink. It is frustrating. If it were a person, when you tell it to print it wouldn't "not feeling it right now." And you'd be able to fire it. Now you're late for work if you want to come with your prints. This eats ink. The colors, despite all my work at calibrating & experimentation, do not rival my 1400. Why did they discontinue my beloved Photo Stylus 1400??????? It was perfect. It was a work horse, it printed amazingly for 16 years. I loved it. This one is ok--print quality is ok for Epson, good for all printers, but the touch screen & the slide in out tray will only break & make it last much less time, I hate both. The screen doesn't tell me what I need to know, so why have it? Before, you turn it off, now you have to select options before it actually turns off. It's not a worker, it's a teenager! I already can't wait for the next printer I get. This one eats ink like tic tacs, & I'm printing small & buying high capacity. I specify greyscale for all text prints, so I am trying to be miserly with my ink, but it won't let me. They aren't empty, by weight, when they're "done." Just steals your money in ink purchases, & leaves me with inferior prints...ugh. ... show more

  • Amazing quality print for artists!
Style: XP-15000
The two on the left were printed with the Epson while the one on the right was printed by staples “photo quality”. I love the ability to set up the print file myself and that it prints at full-bleed flawlessly on a basic 8.5x11 photo paper! I printed 2 to test the satin vs presentation matte paper and the colors have little difference! You can see the Staples print does not match the color and appears darker than on screen. I didn’t do any color correcting prior to printing and it only took 2 minutes to print a photo. It’s pretty spectacular for the price! I’ll update in about 6 months to see where we’re at with quality. Edit: original post Aug 2022, edit Jul 2023 Still going strong one year later using this as my primary source of creating prints. I have found the best paper to use is by Moab or Canson instead of buying staples/Office Depot brand papers. After lots of printing I recommend cleaning the print heads for maintenance and aligning print heads after cleaning. The wire has gotten to a point where I have to unplug it then plug it back in to turn on, after a few tries of troubleshooting. Know that every printer no matter how expensive will need this maintenance. I used to work in a mass print shop where multi-thousand dollar printers needed the extra love and care. I don’t need to replace the wire just yet, but I’ll see after another year! ... show more

  • Great for art prints
Style: XP-15000
This printer is really great for artists who like to print their own art out. I was able to print on 140lb watercolor paper no problem! It prints with no border so you get a clean 13x19 print without having to trim. Easy set up! Happy purchase!
