The media could not be loaded. UPDATED REVIEW: After receiving a new lid from the seller (which came very quickly in the mail, I might add), the trash can is now working smoothly. It's perfect and just as I'd hoped. The sensor is quick, and the self-closing aspect is great. We love this trash can and appreciate how quickly the seller contacted us to resolve our issue. If you have any issues with your order, contact the seller and they are great about responding and making sure the product you purchased is as advertised. * * * OLD REVIEW: I was very disappointed to find, after purchasing brand new C-type batteries and putting them in the trash can correctly, following all requisite instructions, that the sensor does not work. The sensor is the whole reason I bought this trash can. If I wanted a trash can that required me to physically lift the top, I would have bought a $10 trash can from a department store. The "open" button doesn't even work. It opens about half of a centimeter and then just glitches and stays there. The "close" button works correctly, but that feature is useless if you have to open it with your hand. Overall, I would NOT recommend this product. Pay more for a more reputable brand. This trash can worked semi well for about two weeks and then it lost its mind. Out of the box, I very often had to wave my hand over the sensor twice before the top would open. Other times, the motion sensor would stop working altogether and I would have to “reboot” the trash can before it would work again, which isn’t that big a deal. Now, even switching the “system” on and off isn’t working. The sensor doesn’t work at all and it just opens and closes on its own every few seconds which, as you can imagine, is very annoying. It’s a shame, really. It’s a great idea and, if someone can build one that works, I would buy one again...but only if it had a money back guarantee. I’m returning this product. ... show more

Love this trash can. Was hesitant because it’s pretty inexpensive for having motion detection open/close, but I haven’t had any problems yet. Looks good, no dents or anything, came packaged well. Easy to put together, just put the C batteries in the top compartment, put the trash bag in with the plastic ring it came with to hold it in place, and put the top on. Works perfectly. I was mildly irritated at the big sticker that’s on the inside of the lid because it wouldn’t come off cleanly so I’ll need to get something to take it off, and I wish it had come with batteries, but for the price I can’t complain. ... show more

The auto open/close works intermittently. The button to open the can and close the can does not always work. It’s a nice design but at this point I’m using it no differently than a manual trash can. The automation is not consistent.
