    • Just what I needed for a small cabinet

This roll out trash and recycling unit is just perfect for my RV. My base cabinets are relatively small, and this was one of the few trash/recycling roll out bins that would fit the space. Installation was a breeze (just make sure you measure accurately and check that the cabinet door opens and closes without impediment before screwing it in place). These bins slide smoothly and keep our trash neat and out of sight (and out of reach of our dogs). Very happy with this purchase. Just note that these bins are smaller than “normal” kitchen cans that take 13 gallon tall kitchen trash bags, but they are plenty big for 2 people. There are specially made bags to fit these bins, but they’re expensive and not usually stocked at major retailers. We tried 8 gallon bags, but they were too short. 10 gallon bags fit fine, but they’re much more expensive and not as readily available as the 13 gallon size, which is what we’re using. Drawstring bags work much better than self - tie bags, which tend to slip down into the bin. There are special rubber bands that can be purchased, but the 13 gallon drawstring bags work for us. ... show more

While I originally thought that paying $80 or so for an under-counter trash bin was extravagant (my last one cost me $50), after installing it and using it for a few weeks I now think it was money well spent. This trash bin is the smoothest-operating bin I have ever had, it fits better in the space under my sink than my last one (similar trash capacity), which had to be installed at an angle to clear a water line & valve (this one sits nice and square), and generally has a more substantial "feel" to it (subjective, I know). Even when full, it still takes little effort to pull it out or push it back. Just a 1-finger tug or push. Capacity was important to me, and this one is perfectly adequate (at least the same as my previous bin) and, although it came with a starter pack of simplehuman's type K bags (which are very good trash bags, I discovered), it readily takes the standard white 13 gallon kitchen trash bags that I buy in bulk from the shopping club. Installation was relatively easy; unlike my previous bin, this one has the slides at the bottom held together by welded cross-braces, so they are always parallel and the only measurements needed are for front and side clearances (shown in the simple instructions provided, but also just common sense). This bottom frame is screwed to the cabinet floor by 8 Phillips-head wood screws (2 at each corner), which might be overkill when 4 screws may have been sufficient, but the 8 screws make for very sturdy installation. In my case, it was necessary to pre-drill the holes for the screws in the cabinet wood floor, otherwise they're just too tight trying to screw them into the wood (the screws provided are a substantial size), so having a power drill available may be handy. Drill bit size is not very critical, as long as it is a smaller diameter than the screw threads. To sum up, it looks nice, fits well, and is well-built, so I'm very happy with my purchase. ... show more

This is a really great product for small cabinets, that said it was way too small for me, so I returned it. The trash bin is basically a bathroom trash can that’s taller. If that’s what you’re looking for this is great

The bins are on the small side, which isn’t a problem for me—I live in an apartment building in a big city so have to take the garbage out frequently to prevent bugs. This fit perfectly under the sink in my new (ikea) kitchen—like, it *just* fit, as if it were made for it. Easy install, glides well. The official bags are a bit spendy but I don’t mind for now—I’ll switch over to cheaper ones when it starts to annoy me. In my last building the landlord had installed the version of this sliding bin that comes with one bucket (just garbage, no recycling). That would probably be more practical for people who live in houses or places where they don’t have to dispose of their garbage frequently. ... show more
