  • Great Starter Pizza Oven
The media could not be loaded. This is my first pizza oven. I got it because I specifically wanted a wood-fired oven. I liked the style of this model. It reminds me of an Airstream camper. It’s stainless steel and has rivets to hold it all together. It’s sturdy and very well made. What it comes with: It comes with the chimney and cap, both are removable. The chimney has a little handle to open and close a flap to regulate the airflow. It also comes with a storage/ travel bag; more on that later. It comes with the pizza stone, pizza peel, and cutter. The stone is made of Cordierite which is durable, heats up quickly, and is used in ovens much more expensive than this one. The pizza peel is great. It fits in the oven perfectly and it was one less thing I had to go out and purchase. The pizza cutter is so-so. I mean it cuts fine but I have others that are better. The stone takes about 15-20 mins to get up to about 600 degrees. It takes a little practice and patience to maintain the internal ambient temperature. I use an infrared thermometer (that I bought on Amazon) to check the temperature of the stone. It cooks the pizza perfectly. It takes about 2-3 mins to cook. Tips: -Wood Chunks. I use Apple and Pecan wood chunks as fuel for this pizza oven. I find that they burn hotter and longer, which makes it easier for me to maintain a consistent ambient temperature. I tried using pellets but they just made it smoke and burned too fast. -Add wood chunks right before you put your pizza in. Load up the smoke box with wood and it will burn through out the cook. The flames will dance over the top of the pizza and out towards the chimney, cooking your toppings. -Don’t make the pizza dough too thick. I did this on the first pizza. The crust will cook and get nice and bubbly but the inside will be undercooked and doughy. I know it sounds obvious but it’s worth mentioning. -Don’t be afraid to load up on the toppings. As long as you have those flames dancing over the top, the toppings will cook just fine. I attached a couple pics of a couple pizzas that were pretty well loaded up and everything was cooked perfectly. -Get an infrared thermometer. I use it to check the temperature of the pizza stone. The dial on the outside of the oven is for the ambient temp inside. It will fluctuate quite a bit, especially when opening and closing the door. The pizza stone temp is impossible to check without this infrared thermometer. Stone temp is key to having a pizza cooked all the way through. -Cleaning brush/ scraper. Get a brush made for cleaning pizza stones. They won’t scratch the surface of it and makes cleaning it so much easier. Minor gripes: It burns through wood pretty quickly. The instructions say that the door is insulated but it is definitely not. It’s just stainless steel. If it were insulated like the sides are, I think the heat would stay in better and not go through fuel as quickly. -Cover. The cover kinda sucks to be honest. I don’t understand how you’re supposed to use it. It only fits the oven itself with the door off. It’s not big enough to include the door which has the wood handle bolted to it. You have to turn the door around backwards, with the handle facing inside for it to work, and even then it is very tight. The chimney has its own cover and has enough room for the cap. It’d be nice to have a cover that’s big enough to accommodate the pizza oven as it sits, not having to turn stuff around and partially disassemble it to get it to fit. Overall this is a great pizza oven, perfect for people (like myself) just getting into making pizza at home. It’s not the fanciest oven out there but it performs very well and I’ve enjoyed it every time I use it!! I’ve recommended this to friends and if you’re on the fence with it, just buy it. You’ll love it! ... show more

  • Pizza just like order out.
What I liked about this is it gets upto 800'F can cooks like thoes brick ovens. This oven uses pellets to get hot to cook. I had a problem with this oven and that was keeping track of the pellets that do burn kind of fast and the basket does not hold alot and have to look from the top flap and add pellets at the top that goes into the basket. So for me the temp goes up and falls down so I can't keep it stable. At times the fire goes out then have to re light the fire. I am sure there could be a auto add pellet somewhere that could be moded to this. The stoneware the pizza comes on I would think it would be more durable because it was wrapped well however it still broke and at least it was only on a corner so for me it was still usable. Hope others are not broke in half. The stoneware defently works well and seems to give the pizza better taste. Really crispy crust on the pizza pie. The oven cleans up well. The oven does turn blue in some areas and is expected from the high heat. Hope the blue will even out on many other cooking. Instructions say the oven will store when you fold the legs in. I tried to fold them out and was difficult just pushing them out to where it feels like the oven will bend the metal so I like this oven and will not try to fold them back in just to gain 2 to 3 inches to store the oven. Don't want to loose out on a oven. I was worried about this and still am. When the oven was not used yet and tipping it side to side or just moving it I saw white power inside the oven then wiped it away bit it was back again. Was coming from the fiberglass between the layers for the heat retention. I am not sure if this lands on the food while using the oven and eating it when the pizza is done. Seems the testing is not complete on that part. Could be just my oven and does worry me about that. Anyways the oven is great as long as the temp can be kept up all the time. Perhaps I can just my kid to watch it instead of watching the phone. Hope you enjoy this new pizza oven like I am trying to. Good Luck cooking. ... show more

  • Would not recommend.
This pizza oven ended up failing us horribly when all we wanted was a nice fun family night. It took forever to get to temp and when it finally did the pizza got stuck to the stone and then we couldn’t get it back to temp from when we opened the door to put the pizza in. Too bad it’s late to return it but it feels like a worthless purchase at this point. ... show more

  • Yummy pizza
We are pizza lovers and have a few different styles of pizza oven. It has a much better taste compared to our gas oven, but it is more challenging to get the temperature stable when you put the pizza in the oven. We have either cooked it hot n fast for 60 seconds and come out with some burnt crust or low and slow and had some undercooked spots. We've used this with pellets since we have a lot of them and it eats them up! I swear we use 1/4 of a bag for one pizza! ... show more

  • Hard to Get the Hang of, But Makes Great Pizza
It took me a few tries to get the hang of lighting this because I'm not used to pellet grills, but once I got it going, I think it's a fine pizza oven. It takes about an hour to heat, but it cooks pizzas in 5-10 minutes and they really do taste wood-fired. It's compact and lightweight and comes with a carrying bag to bring it anywhere. It also looks very nice. I've sat it next to my grill on a permanent tile and it seems to be handling the weather too. ... show more
