  • Great Basic Paddle And Value!
Size: 240 cm Color: Black/Silver
This is an excellent basic paddle for the cost. I have not seen a better value in this price range (~$50 when I bought it). The only reason I bought this one was to replace the identical item which was lost. That one lasted 6 years and was in as good condition as the day I purchased it. Note that this broader blade design is best for maneuverability rather than for speed, and for my fishing kayak is perfect for precise maneuvering around vegetation and timber, quick stops and starts, and tight turns where needed. This tough paddle holds up to pushing off rocks and timber, and even poling your kayak off the bottom or through thick weeds. While this paddle will not compete with featherweight carbon fiber paddles in weight, it is certainly light enough for easy handling. If you are strictly an open-water distance paddler, then look for a narrower, longer blade for efficiency. This is not a negative for this paddle--only a factor of what it was best designed for. If you are looking for a tough fishing or maneuvering paddle, this is it! ... show more

  • Nice first paddle, would buy again.
Size: 240 cm Color: Black/Silver
Like the 94" length for use on our Lifetime sit upon kayaks which are wide. The paddles that come with the Lifetime kayaks are crap, shorter, and had us all wet on our first trip even with extra drip rings installed. So I bought two of these. These paddles are firm and slightly heavier (the wife had no complaints), but make up for it with good paddle strength imo. I like how one side of the paddle pole is oblong/oval in your hand so you know if your paddle is tilted/angled correctly. The two piece means obviously when clicked together they don't feel exactly like a one piece (duh), but the fit is not bad at all imo. Still feels sturdy and has a nice firm paddle that made paddling for hours a breeze on our next trip out. Plus we didn't get soaked as the longer paddle length definitely helped keep dripping outside the kayak. I would definitely buy these again. Granted, we've only used once, so this isn't a long term review, but my gut tells me we'll be using these for a good long while. ... show more

  • Great value
Size: 240 cm Color: Black/Silver
Are there better paddles out there? Yes there are but I haven't seen one that is anywhere near the cost of this paddle. I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for the fact the one of the two I ordered was missing the little button in the handle that holds the two handles together. True to Amazons reputation I reported the problem and they shipped a new paddle out right away and arranged for UPS to pick up the defective one at my house the next day. All I had to do was tape up the box and sit it out for the driver. This is why I try to buy items that are sold and shipped from Amazon. There were a few minors scratches in the replacement paddle but nothing worth complaining about since I will scratch it up using it. This paddle is well made and the connection of the handles is NOT WOBBLY like stated in another review. This is a pretty durable paddle and for the cost you really can't beat it. I looked at carbon fiber paddles and fiberglass paddles as well as other materials and for hard core kayakers they are great but for me and my son we need something that we can push off from the shore or a rock or tree and not worry about cracking our $185.00 paddle blade. All in all this is a great starter paddle that you will likely use for a very long time. ... show more

  • Just what I wanted...May order a 2nd
I originally purchased this paddle because it had decent reviews and it was black to match My hot pink kayak... and out of the black paddles on amazon it had one of the best ratings. We have two kayak paddles. The other is yellow and came from Dicks sporting goods. We paid $50 for each. But my fave is this one. It seems to get me through the water alot faster than the other and with less effort. Its comfortable to hold but I would recommend some kind of glove so to not get blisters on long outings. It is a little heavier than our other paddle but not to an extent that it really bothered me on our first 4 hour outing. I ordered the 220 and would have liked it to be a tad bit longer even though I am only 5'8". But I do have a perception kayak which is a little wider than some others so that may be why I would like a longer paddle. My only gripe and I may be wrong is... I let my husband use it for a while and when I took it back I swear the right side of the paddle pole was no longer round and was slightly ovaled where you hold it.. Leaving me to believe that they are not made as sturdy as some other brands. So please let me know if the handle was already shaped like this... :) My husband also liked this one over his and we may order another in the future depending on how this one holds up. ... show more

  • The handle is SUPPOSE to be like that
Size: 240 cm Color: Black/Silver
This is a great paddle all around, ive had a carslisle paddle before(that cost $125) and this is built just as solid. And to everyone complaining about the one side being slightly ovaled its SUPPOSE to be like that! Its there to let you know the angle of your paddle without looking at it(if u didnt notice it fits your hand best when the blades are lined up at the perfect angle), you can tell just by ur grip that its lined up and where you want it to be. Also just used this paddle white water rafting. The water level was very low so we were in single "funyakes" this paddle hit plenty of rocks and was used to push of them, and when i flipped it the paddle floated it did not sink. Strong and durable paddle ... show more

  • Well made
Size: 240 cm Color: Black/Silver
I bought this because my other paddle was bent in a mishap. This is well made and has had a fair amount of use. No complaints about the construction or price. Would buy again if needed.

  • Good paddle for casual paddling
Size: 240 cm Color: Black/Silver
This is a much nicer paddle than the ones that came with my inflatable kayak. Longer length clears the kayak sides better. Grip is comfortable. Only downside is that the halves are too long to lay down in the cargo space of my little car with the kayak, so the darn things spent all summer flopped in my backseat looking messy. ... show more
