I've long wanted to buy this one, and bought just about everything else, haha, both above and below the usual price here (including JBL, Bugani, Soundcore, VTIN, and others), but, a price drop finally got me to buy this one, and, all I can say is not to waste your money on every other brand. The favorable reviews of this speaker are legit! I can only imagine how amazing a paired set would be, but, of course the trade off there is more weight and bulk. This is a heavy speaker that takes up a bit of room, and, while that makes it worth the sound it produces, it's always a decision between portability and sound quality and, if I bought two of them, it would not be a pair I'd try to toss in a backpack, lol. Just the single speaker strains portability a bit here. Although, as a pair of fixed speakers, a dual set of these would be a worthy little sound system. At a single speaker, this really hits a sweet spot for still being fairly portable, but definitely being hefty enough to deliver on outstanding sound. While many speakers favor the single rear bass radiator, the dual set up here, one at each end of the speaker, really pumps out the music for a broader sound stage than single radiator brands, like the VTIN R7 (which I own). I had thought the R7 was about as good as one can get, for the price, but this one has cleaner sound, and bigger sound, so it beats the R7. No light show, but that's not as important to me, as sound quality. The Bugani M83, about the same size, offers perhaps a slight bit more finesse in mids and highs, but not as much overall clean volume. It easily bests the Soundcore Motion Plus and gives more power than various JBL's I own. Bass is very satisfying on this model, strong, but not muddled. Reviews almost seemed too good to be true, which is part of what held me back, plus, audio reviews online, well, it's difficult to really hear the quality, when it's recorded and played back, because of the degradation in processing. But, in person, wow, this is the best BT speaker I've bought, in terms of a bigger product that can fill a room. Lots of battery life, a durable build, this is truly the King.     • A fantastic value for a loud, mid-level BT outdoor speaker

I was close to getting the Anker portable BT speaker for almost twice the price, but SO glad I found this instead. Our trusty old Bose Soundlink speaker finally died after 5 years of excellent service. Instead of hassling with a $40 replacement battery, I found this boom-box for about $70 and figured it's worth a try, especially if it's louder and bass-ier than the Bose - and it is! Pros: Plays LOUD! Not "hurt your hearing" loud, but loud enough that it doesn't just drift away on the wind when used in outdoor settings. Big, easy to see & use buttons. Connects to BT quickly and with a pleasant chime (UNlike my Pyle BT speakers that squak a police radio sound at max volume - I have to cover my ears when connecting!) Equalizer profiles are nice - one for music, one for voice (I assume). I wish there were some indicator of which is in use. Overall build quality seems surprisingly sturdy, even though it's plastic. End-caps nicely protect the side woofers (which have a lot of movement when bass is loud). Has every type of audio connection and possibility of adding 2nd unit for true stereo - which I just might do! Cons: Kinda chunky and ugly, though some may like the design. I may paint it after a while, when it can no longer be returned! Don't like the carry strap and am looking to replace with some kind of semi-rigid handle. Not really a "con" but it's weird that the battery life indicator lights are built into the EQ setting button. It makes the lights look like they should be showing you which EQ setting you're on, not the battery life. Weird. Final thoughts: Not up to the broad, warm sound of our old Bose speaker, but I was not expecting that at this price-point. It does sound pretty good and has a fairly flat response, with a little fall-off in the upper mid-range that's slightly noticeable. After using it just a few times already I don't even notice it now. You can always use your music app's EQ to get it where you want it. Overall a great value. Very highly recommend this unit if you can get it for the $70-ish price. ... show more
