Frequently asked questions

RTF stands for 'Ready-To-Fly', which means the Blade Nano S3 RC Helicopter comes fully assembled and ready to fly right out of the box. This includes having the battery, transmitter, and all necessary components included and set up, so you don’t have to purchase anything extra or spend time assembling the helicopter.

Yes, beginners can fly the Blade Nano S3 RC Helicopter due to its AS3X (Artificial Stabilization – 3-aXis) and SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology. These systems provide stability and keep the helicopter level, making it easier for beginners to control and learn how to fly.

The Blade Nano S3 RC Helicopter features AS3X and SAFE technology for stability and easy control, a durable design with a blue and black color scheme, and a compact size that's ideal for flying indoors or in small outdoor areas. It also comes RTF, meaning it's ready to fly right out of the box with everything you need included.

The Blade Nano S3 RC Helicopter is charged via a USB charger that comes with it. Charging times can vary, but a full charge typically provides around 5 to 8 minutes of flight time. The exact flight duration can depend on flying conditions and how aggressively you fly the helicopter.

Should I Buy It?

If you're interested in entering the world of RC helicopters or looking to practice 3D flying without a hefty investment, this helicopter offers great value. However, those averse to troubleshooting or fine-tuning might find the initial setup and potential control calibration a bit daunting.

  • Great all around
I love this little helicopter it has been a ton of fun to fly around. I got this to get an intro into 3d flying and I think this is a great one to learn with. It’s really durable the blades can be a little brittle depending on where you’re learning to fly it at so stay away from harder surfaces if you want to keep them a little longer but they’re cheap to replace and it comes with an extra set. Overall easy to use durable decent in light wind for size and great intro into collective pitch helicopters. ... show more

  • Lots of fun
I flew radio controlled airplanes for roughly 15 years before giving it up. And I miss it. When I saw this helicopter I thought what the heck I'll give it a try. I am so glad I did.. it is so much fun to fly and very easy to learn for a guy in his late sixties like me. After only 4 or 5 days, I'm able to keep it in a hover for more than a couple seconds! Right now I'm just flying it around in my apartment, haven't taken it outside yet. Looking forward to that but I gotta get some extra batteries first. Would definitely recommend and buy again and I'm already looking at a larger heli. Just a note after a month of flying... the throttle and the rotor control are on the left stick. There is no ratchet on the throttle so if you move the rotor control it's too easy to also move the throttle and lose or gain altitude unintentionally. My only complaint. ... show more

  • Great Heli one glitch, but worth the Price.
Out of the box mine was not right, modes were not working as they should. I had computer radio modes. No real beginner mode and customer support is a nightmare to reach All through chat that ends in leave a message. That said it corrected itself how no idea. 3 flights in modes are fixed it's fine. Flys amazing and very happy with it. Definitely would recommend. ... show more

  • Full collective 3d functionality.
Not a beginner helicopter. You can start to learn by using this heli but you'll need to be patient. It gives you 3 modes of operation. Normal for beginners that self rights the heli. Stunt 1 that allows for more radical flight movements and gives negative pitch. Stunt 2 that allows for 3d flight. Very aggressive maneuvers. It's a great entry level helicopter as it is relatively inexpensive and parts are not too difficult to replace. YouTube is your friend here. I have many r/c helicopters. This one is the one I enjoy throwing around without fear. ... show more

  • Mine is unstable right out of the box
First flight, the trims are all off. I'm using mode 1 with low sensitivity (flashing controller LED). It's jerky and flies all over the place. I'm having to make excessive use of the trim controls, almost to the max on one or two. It's a cool little heli, but I'm wondering if it's defective and if I should exchange it. I've seen many videos of first timers hopping these up in the air and they just hold stable. Mine isn't doing that at all, it's just all over the place. I'm an experienced RC plane flyer, new to heli's. ... show more

  • Lot's of fun
Great little copter, multiple modes for beginners or experienced pilots. Crazy upside-down tricks for pros right out of the box , and in my great room , lots of fun. I set it on easy and my 8 year old son was able to keep it in the air .

  • What the?.........
Honestly, I figured "advanced" technology would let me down eventually... And this Heli did just that! Managed to get it to fly stable with the included transmitter... Bound the NANO S3 to my Spektrum DX7... Following the instructions, collective "idle-up" would not work... when the switch was flipped the motor would slowly cool-down and negative pitch would insue... HUH??? Upon 15 or 20 failed attempts to get the cyclic, throttle AND proper collective programmed into the DX7... I re-bound the NANO S3 to the factory included transmitter again... NOW THIS TIME THE SAME THING!!! After over 3 hours of trying various re-binds with different stick positions to try and reprogram the NANOs on-board receiver/flight controller I gave up... THE INSTRUCTIONS DID NOT WORK EITHER FREAKING WAY!!! I returned it the next morning ... I cant see how all of the sudden Blade micro helis AND Eflite UMX receivers and programming with additional "gyros" and "SAFE" mode are so complicated! I'll stick with my original Blade MCPX, original MCPX BL and my original Spektrum AR6400 series of UMX receiver bricks... Simple, no gyro programming BS and straight up "They will fly as good as you can make them"... I like to be in control... Not a sensor-array and a computer making minute control inputs for me... THATS WHY I LEARNED HOW TO REALLY FLY... BECAUSE I CONTROL THE MINUTE INPUTS VIA THE TRANSMITTER STICKS... NOT A COMPUTER. Put control back to the people... ... show more

  • Great beginner 3D helicopter
I really like how easy it is to learn 3D on the nano S3. I tried to learn on the XK110S and it was too hard to understand the basic 3D controls such as idle up and pitch curves. The nano S3 allowed me to be able to do my first back flip without being scared of crashing and this helicopter can take crashed better than the XK110. The nano S3 controller might look cheap but it’s simple in design to focus on the basics of aerobatic maneuvers. ... show more
