  • Worth every penny and then some!
The Typhon is amazing. Floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee. Seriously, it is very rugged and it is very fast for a 3S. I typically keep it set to 50% for my boys and for me 75%. At 100% throttle it has way too much power to control. Seriously, 100% throttle is fishtailing it launches so hard and will easily go 50 mph in a few seconds. 100% throttle is manageable in the grass, but still way more than your average person needs. In addition, the quality is top notch. Built like a $500+ car. Fan on the ESC and motor. Solid and thick plastic all around. The suspension is perfectly tuned, and the wait balance lets if fly like a bird. Don't hesitate, buy this. You will not regret it. I paired mine with a pair of Zeee 3S Lipo Battery 7200mAh and fireproof storage pouch. Using a Gens Ace Lipo Battery Charger IMARS D300 G-Tech Series Smart Dual Lipo Charger. Have fun! ... show more

  • I was hesitant spending this much but this thing is a ton of fun and almost invincible.
I've wanted a high quality RC car for a long time, and finally decided to bite the bullet and shell out the cash for a good one. I was a little hesitant spending $450+ on the car+batteries+charger. After much research it, it seemed that this car was the obvious choice. So I bought it. This thing totally lives up to my expectations. It's unbelievably fast. It's all waterproof (except the battery of course) so you can just rinse it off when you're done driving it through the grass and snow. The tires are a good hybrid for on-road and off-road driving. But the best part is this thing's durability. I've used plastic folding tables as ramps to propel it into the air over and over, sometimes landing one one wheel and doing a cartwheel, and it didn't get damaged at all. The bottom is scratched up from slapping against pavement, and I even managed to take a chip out of it somehow, but this thing is tough as nails. The only thing I've broken is the wing- I had to drive it over a snow bank at full speed, sending it flying into the air only to land on its wing, digging the corner of it into the ground and snapping part of it off. $11 for a replacement wing from my local hobby store and I was set! Would definitely buy again. Almost wish I got the 6s version, but I think that one weighs more, so it's not really much better. ... show more

  • I love this car!
Well it's been about 6 months and I've put this thing through it's paces. It's held up to some punishment. The only real damage has been to the motor mount which bent from my giant 4076, 2050 kv brushless motor I installed. Came down hard and the weight of the motor bent the mount and cracked the plastic chassis. Fixed it up with a hammer to flatter it back out. Epoxy for the cracked chassis did the trick. -here's a little trick..add a few drops of acetone(fingernail polish remover) to your two-part epoxy to give it a little bit of malleability. I've found two-part epoxy to be very brittle but doing this gives it some flexibility and prevens it from cracking. Anyway, I love my Typhon. The handing is right up front and she turns sharp on the corners. These 2300kv BLX motors are TOUGH! I've been running two of these on 4s and they are doing just fine. I don't really do any speed runs but I wouldn't be afraid to do so. This car SOARS! It flies through the air clean and mean. Stays level and lands on a cushion of pillows. If something ever happened to this car or it got stolen, I'd definitely get another but I'm prone to venture into the 6s range. But this the Typhon 3s BLX has NOT disappointed. It's a great great car for an amazing price. ... show more

  • THIS IS TOTALLY WICKED DUDE!
OMG! This one is so much easier to drive then the monster trucks. On Punch 3 (factory setting) it doesn't hardly wheelie at all in the dirt, it just f***ing goes really fast very quickly! This one is much better assembled too, no missing locktite, the gear mesh was right on, and the shocks didn't need any tuning. I did toe in the front wheels. We don't run on tracks. We run in wide open spaces and with the wheels toed out out, as they are of the box, it won't go in a straight line, especially on the pavement. My 8 year old kid absolutely loves it because it is so much easier to control then the Granite. He was launching it 8 feet off the ground and nailing the landing on his first run with it. (He does have prior experience at the 3S level) Don't get me wrong, it's mine but I got back into R/C to do it together with him so I have 2 so he can drive one when he's with me. These require parental supervision if you want to avoid a personal injury lawsuit. They also require mechanical aptitude to maintain unless your going to pay a shop to do it. You've seen plenty of pictures so I added one with the street tires on it. PS You must check the gear mesh and set the steering endpoints before running it. Not doing so will result in stripped gears and dead servos. ... show more

  • Super fast and durable
The media could not be loaded. This thing is one of the strongest RC cars I've owned. The way I drive it, you would expect me to be breaking parts left and right, but I've only had a couple parts break which is to be expected. I've taken the car to the skatepark many times, and each time I am recklessly jumping it at full speed, landing hard, and crashing, and most of the time it is perfectly fine. I have jumped it like 20 feet high multiple times in a row with no issues besides a bent shock, which I was able to bend back and it was back in business. It can do backflips if you get a good jump, but cant really do frontflips, since it just spins uncontrollably if you try. One thing that was kind of annoying is that the fans on the motor and esc eventually break. I'm not sure if there are any upgrades to fix this issue but oh well. ... show more
