I got this shade for one of my bedroom windows. I have a sunroom that I turned into an office, my bedroom and the office share a window (odd placement I know, I think the sunroom was added on) Anyways, I needed something to create more of a barrier between the rooms. I already have blinds and curtains in the bedroom but you could see into our bedroom from the office and hear the tv. I got this blind to add more privacy and it works very well. I was concerned when I received the package I thought I ordered the wrong size because the box was so small. It was folded up so it worked out perfectly. I no longer see or hear movement through the window. It also came with a handy little fabric tape measure to measure your window. I have a little trick I like to use with ready shades and things like this: I fold over the top around a small tension rod and put it up with the tension rod so it can be taken down quickly and then put back up or used in a different window. I just folded over where the velcro is and stuck it to itself. The shade is a hair narrower than the window I used it in, so a little light leaks in, but if I put it behind the blinds on the window I would get total blackout. This is sufficient blackout for my afternoon naps, though. I probably should have ironed it, but I don't see it behind the sheers, so don't care. ... show more

This shade is good for a quick fix or perhaps a camp or camper. It DOES make it dark, but it isn't something you would want in a highly visible area of your home. Pros: Measuring tape provided to measure shade to fit to window. No hardware needed to attach to window frame. Sticks nicely. (Be careful on removing and it won't damage the paint). Clips provided to hold shade up are very nice, I painted mine black and I like it much better. Darkens the room really well. Have a flashlight to help you maneuver at night! Cons: Looks like a plastic material. While it says you can iron the creases out, I had no success in doing so. It says it can be washed, but I hand washed it and the creases didn't get any better. I know it says you can machine wash but I couldn't figure out how to do that without destroying it. That may be a failure on my part so don't blame the shade. I think this shade will do the job if you are looking for is a way to block light at a reasonable price. It makes for a nice, dark room. This is a great blackout shade. It’s very simple to use. It comes with the shade, measuring tape, plastic stick and clips. You do not need any tools to install the shade. You simply cut the shade to fit the length of your window. You remove the backing on the adhesive and simply push into place on your window sill. Make sure you use a lot of pressure to insure proper attachment. Then just insert the stick in the bottom, roll up to needed size and apply clips. It’s that easy.It does an awesome job keeping the room completely dark so I am able to rest much better. This is a very affordable way to keep the light out of your bedroom. These blackout curtains are a convenient and effective solution for blocking light and gaining privacy in situations where drilling or permanent installation isn't possible. I work in a modular building at a public school and we needed window coverings for safety reasons. We tried a few options, such as cling film, but they ended up being messy and too difficult to remove if we wanted to let the sun in. These blinds turned out to be our best option. They look professional, we didn't need any hardware to install them, and we can roll them up and down as needed. Pros: quick & easy installation. The length is easily customizable by rolling the curtain and securing the bottom with the included clips. The curtain blocks light really well, and it made a big difference in reducing the temperature of our room when I used it to cover our south-facing window. Cons: Lightweight, feels kind of like something in a camping kit, so it's probably not made for rough use. Ours had a couple of speckles where the curtain is a tiny bit thinner than the rest, so it has a kind of constellation look to that part of the curtain. (I included a photo) it doesn't really cause us any issues and the curtain makes a huge difference in our room. I love it ... show more

This shade is made of extremely cheap quality, thin plastic. The plastic rod to push into the bottom edge to roll, and the clips are also cheaply made and I don't they will last long. This item is very expensive at $19.99 for what you get. It looks so cheap that I won't be using it.

I was disappointed when I opened the box for this "shade". Better described as dark plastic sheet than a "shade" though technically it is opaque enough to act as a room darkening device just like a piece of cardboard might but in a slightly more elegant way. I decided not to use it in my RV since it looks cheap and would be an eye sore. There are other solutions at the same price point that are much nicer. ... show more
