  • Works great, easy setup, Great CloudEdge Software
Color: 5MP-Grey solar camera
CLOUDEDGE SW IS GREAT: It is my opinion that the Software on one of these cameras makes or breaks it. This camera uses CloudEdge and it is a great software for a camera. I have 4 other cameras that use this. I wish companies selling cameras would state this in their ad. They never do. SETUP Setup on this camera was very easy. In my case I didn’t have to download “Cloudedge” as I already had it but the setup steps for a camera are always the same. SETTING UP THE SW First you need to give it permissions: Access to data, usually WLAN and Cellular and Notifications. Note: You get to choose how obtrusive the notifications are. Then you have to create an account. When you connect it to WiFi make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4Hz connection as that is what the camera will connect too. You can change your phone back to a 5Hz connection once this is done. SETTING UP THE CAMERA In most cases when I setup a camera I do it inside (after I made sure it is charged) near the router. This makes setup a breeze. Once I get this done I put it in the desired location. This way setup is not complicated by a location potentially having a weak signal. It tends to be pretty forgiving after the setup phase. This part always confuses me. You choose Add and then you have to figure out what type of camera you have. Their manual shows “Battery Camera”. I think I guessed this, but it worked. Next you get a QR code on your phone to put in front of the camera and in my case it picked it up right away. (Older cameras and Older phones were not always good at this part). Next is a bunch of configuration stuff. Each person does this differently. Invariably I rename the camera based on where I put it. You can always rename it after if you move it again. The name refreshes in the app completely after you close it and open it again. INSTALLING A MICRO CARD ALLOWS RECORDING TO BE HELD LOCALLY I generally have some 128MB micro cards on hand for cameras, so before I even do the setup I put this in place. Once setup is done, I format the card so it works with this camera. Since the card stores stuff locally, unless you download videos, if someone steals the camera they can keep you from viewing an intrusion on your property. NOTE: If you have notifications on, you will know when it happens and even if the camera is removed, it will still be running due to the battery. But, you don’t know if recording is local or in the cloud until after you steal the camera (or open the back to see a card, but a person could still be using the cloud). So unlikely. SETTINGS: It takes me a while before I get the settings just right, so you will fiddle with this a few times after setup. Mostly in the app. One thing I tend to do is not have a light come on when recording at night. Not only does that use more power, but it alerts people to the presence of a camera. As I have a number of them all within reach of a person,, I would prefer their location not to be too obvious. Honest people might not like to be recorded, but someone up to no good might also destroy the camera. ... show more

  • So GOOD I got another one!
Color: 5MP-Light White solar camera
This is our second Aubor 5mp solar camera so the review has not changed from our first camera. I still Highly, Highly Recommend! I added this to our security system because we wanted cameras that can pan, tilt, zoom from an app. This camera is exactly what I was looking for! Easy to set up and install. We primarily use Arlo cameras which this app reminds me of, very similar. But constantly going out and changing batteries when we have 16 cameras gets old fast and I've been doing it for at least 5 years now, probably longer. This camera charges its battery via the solar panel so all you have to do is mount it and forget it. Everything else you do with it is via the app. I wanted to know before I got this is do I have to pay? Well the answer is No. You can use this with cloud storage for Free but, you will get 6 second recordings. Which kind of works out for me because the way it works with the Free Service is that even though it only records 6 seconds it will immediately record another 6 seconds and another 6 seconds until the motion stops. So that works for me. Also you should know with the Free Service you do not get AI detection. Meaning it tells you with the alerts to your phone that a person, animal, vehicle or package is detected and record it. $4.99 a month for the paid service. The last thing I need is another monthly paid service. It will still record to cloud storage for free in 6 second intervals. This works for me especially in combination with my Arlo cameras. Honestly this camera would be great as a stand alone camera also. I got 2 of these cameras 1 for the center of the front of my house and 1 for the center of the back of my house Perfect! Also to let you know these will be connected to your 2.4ghz wifi signal not 5ghz. If you have one of those high speed low drag smart routers like we do that chooses if 2.4ghz or 5ghz signal is sent to your device. That never works. You will need to split the 2.4ghz and 5ghz signals and connect to the 2.4ghz. Not as complicated as it sounds. But once you do this you won't have to do it again and you will need the 2.4ghz and 5ghz signals separated for anything you buy that needs to connect to your 2.4ghz signal. My TMobile 5g router does not allow me to split the signals so I purchased a D Link router on Amazon and connected it to my TMobile router and now I can split the 2.4ghz and 5ghz signals. Also this camera picks up the 2.4ghz signal much better than my Arlo cameras and has a lot faster response! Not lagey like the Arlos. I'm considering replacing all of my cameras with these cameras! Good Quality Construction! I Highly, Highly Recommend! ... show more
