I don't write alot of reviews but this is one product that I would gladly write a review on. Let me start by saying at first I thought this blender was very expensive. I couldn't see myself spending $300 -$400 for a blender. But I'm glad I did. This was a worthwhile investment. The things you can make in this blender is incredible. Ice cream! Who knew you could make ice cream in a blender. My favorite thing to make in this blender is smoothies. It came out better than any smoothie shop. This product is sleek and powerful.     • Broke after a year and not much use - Disappointed
upgraded 1 star to 5 star due to customer service - called Vitamix and they said it is under warrenty and they will send a shipping label and I can send it to them get it fixed and back at no cost to me (other than the trip to the post office) - so I am fine with that - had not registered the thing and expected a bunch of excuses and lecture on what I should have done - none of that - very pleased with the company for standing behind the product and love to use it when it works!! *********** We got our first Vitamix from Costco and fell in love. When working properly the Vitamix is awesome and we have used the first one to make soups and sauces and smoothies. The first one started having a problem with the gears not catching and the machine sounding terrible - burnt wire/electrical smell coming from the machine while it was still working sometimes - have now seen another review mentioning this smell - then it stopped to work. Since we liked and used it so much, we decided to chalk the first one failing up to a bad individual machine and decided to give it another chance. The second one is now acting up the same way after only one year and maybe 30 uses. Very disappointed and now thinking this must be a pattern with Vitamix, maybe gears produced abroad with poor quality control? It says engineered and assembled in USA but God knows where the parts are actually made. Really feeling cheated for the money we spent on this and feel a fool for trusting them a second time. ************* ... show more

Totally blown away by how awesome this thing is and how much I love using it. I finally understand how a simple kitchen appliance can cost so much. It's that good. All the other reviews have described what makes it so great. One little thing that I'll add is that the spout that you pour from is an ingenious design that is absolutely 100% drip free. When you tilt the pitcher back up from pouring it has a way of somehow collecting the excess liquid away from the lip so that you don't even get one single drop running down the front. I LOVE the simple functionality and the dial that gives you perfect control of the speed. This thing is so insanely powerful that I never end up flipping the left switch to the "high" position. I just crank the dial up to 10 and it turns even frozen fruit mixed with almond milk into pulp in mere seconds. One thing that I'm not counting as good or bad: I was not expecting how huge it is based on the photos. The base unit is actually quite massive and the pitcher is gigantic. This thing is 100% form-follows-function so it is what it is, and what it is is a monster. This is my favorite purchase of 2020 so far. I just love making healthy, delicious smoothies with green bananas (super healthy), strawberries, pure whey protein, and flax seed. ... show more

    • Saves time, money, and taste great!
I have been juicing for several years which is labor intense to prep and clean. Cost for produce is approx. $15-$30 to make a pitcher of juice (veggies/fruit). With Vitamix I pay $10-$15 to make a pitcher because it requires less produce using Whole Foods which does not waste the fiber (pulp). The prep and cleaning time went from 1-2 hours to only 10 minutes. The taste is actually much sweeter than juicing. The consistency is smooth like chocolate milk. If you prefer juice you can pour it inside a strainer or use a cheesecloth. It is still much faster using Vitamix. ... show more

So far, everything about this blender has surpassed our expectations. Blending power is tops. Starting at 1 and working up to high speed for 30 seconds is all it takes. Our smoothies have been the same consistency as a well shaken protein shake - no lumps or frozen chunks. Self cleaning is just as easy as long as you clean it right after use (before it dries). We read all of the instructions and followed the directions for use and everything is going sBlendidly! I did read all of the 1 star reviews, so I was prepared to return this item if needed. But so far, so good. I will update this review if anything changes. ... show more

This really is a superb blender (and for the price should be). From soups to smoothies to crushing ice, this machine will handle it. On the other hand, this is probably more blender than most people need and seems well suited for a bar or smoothie shop.
