  • Good budget gaming monitor with some drawbacks
Display Size: 24 Inches
I was in the market for a budget gaming monitor that met certain criteria. 1. 1080p because my graphics card can't hit 1440p over 60fps 2. Freesync 3. More than 85 hz 4. Curved (more of a want than a need) This monitor meets those requirements. I can tell I prefer VA over TN more because the colors are richer and fuller than a TN panel. I like the dynamic contrast feature. I think it looks really stunning when I'm gaming. I think the 24 inches is the perfect size for a 1080p monitor. The curve really doesn't help much in this case. More of a novelty. Larger monitors it is much more helpful. In regard to drawbacks, I had a few. First, I had difficulty installing the monitor stand that it comes with. The bottom portion would not screw in properly for the life of me. It was so difficult to get it stable. It got to the point where I considered looking for extra screws from other things to see if they worked. After retrying, I was able to get the screw it came with to properly sit in the stand. Not sure if others had the same issue. I noticed on the screw that it looked a little off from the picture. Almost like part of the washer attached was broken or something. That aside, it is stable and sits well on my desk with my giant mouse pad. The second issue I had was getting it to 144hz. I had to go into the settings on Windows and set it to the 144hz. It defaults to 60 for me. Third issue is the color calibration. The monitors are not calibrated by the factory. They come as is. So you could get a great panel that looks perfect. You could also get something wildly uncalibrated. For me, mine fell in the middle. I had to do some tweaking with the Windows color calibration tool in order to get the colors to what I thought looked best. The OSD for adjusting the colors doesn't really help, mostly makes things worse. The calibration process would work a lot better if there were any public, free profiles up for download. I could only find one behind a Patreon pay wall. Lastly, the OSD could use improvement. The controls could be a toggle rather than buttons. The manual could explain the different things within the menu. I don't use the onboard speakers; I cannot speak to the quality of the sound. Honestly, just invest money into PC speakers. No monitor will have high quality sound built in if that's what you're looking for. If you're looking for a budget gaming monitor with some nice features, this is a great choice for $200 (at the time of this review). I think Viotek offers a competitive price for this market and I see them gaining market share if they continue to be competitive with pricing. They could certainly up the factory quality control and put more user-friendly improvements in their products. ... show more

  • Good monitor, play around with brightness, gamma, contrast, and saturation. You'll thank me.
Display Size: 24 Inches
Great monitor, I recommend turning on DCR and if you have a Nvidia GPU go into control panel, adjust Desktop Color Settings, and tweak these settings: Brightness 70 ~ 75, Contrast 52 ~ 55, Gamma: 66 ~ 72. Make sure you scroll down make sure to set Output Dynamic Range to Full. I'm not sure what settings I'd recommend for AMD users as I gave the monitor away with a custom system after playing with it but I'd start with similar settings and adjust to your liking. Monitor does have a tendency to darken wayy too much when playing dark games/videos. I think it's connected to the DCR setting but the improved contrast is too good to turn it off. If you're using this monitor in a bright room you might have to keep the brightness up ... show more

  • Very good monitor with decent price
Display Size: 24 Inches
Been using this monitor paired with an RTX 3080 as a main one for a few months and it works very well. Played games and did work on it and the colors are pretty nice, better than the 1080P monitor I bought 8 years ago. This is also my first monitor with refresh rate above 60HZ and let me tell you everything was smoother. The price is very good for what you get. ... show more

  • Color is ok
Display Size: 24 Inches
The eye saver mode is too yellow. The curved screen is perfect. I have to push the connector cable in for a tighter fit more than I care to.

  • Great when it works.
Display Size: 24 Inches
Purchased 7/10/2018. Almost exactly 4 years later, the monitor died. It was a great monitor while it worked. 4 years is pretty low for a monitor. I used it on my desk, and rarely moved it. Did regularly dust the screen. It began flickering and then it would stop. Then it lost brightness. Now when you hit the power button, it flickers briefly and then goes back off. Edit 7/25/22: Since the monitor was dead to me, I decided to check things out and see what was wrong with it. I took it apart and checked all of the capacitors on the boards. Everything looked good inside. After talking to a coworker, it was suggested I try a different power brick. To my surprise, the monitor seems to function normally. The monitor shows power required as 12V / 3A. The power brick I received with the monitor is 12V / 1.5A. Im not sure why there is a discrepancy or if this caused the failure. However, I did bump the review up to 3 stars because the monitor is still functional. I will purchase a replacement power cable and confirm full functionality. ... show more

  • Arrived as described!
Display Size: 24 Inches
Honestly I'm always pessimistic about buying things online since I can't test it before hand but this has exceeded my expectations. I was using a small TV as my computer monitor since I have my laptop to my GF so the screen wasn't great. My games all look absolutely fantastic and I'm getting over 120fps (according to my notifications) on some of my games. It's gorgeous and runs well. Thanks! ... show more
