Just received these. They seem pretty durable. They feel pretty comfortable to walk in as well, and I've got wide feet. The sole does have some weight to it, but isn't overly heavy to walk in. Sole is actual non-slip material so you won't have to worry about slippery surfaces. Only thing I would say could've been better is the front pad where the shoe laces are; they could've made that front padding a little more puffy. Time will tell if they last and hold on.

I'm a 50 yo mechanic. On my feet 12hrs a day. My go to shoe has always been Sketchers work shoe. The price of shoes is just insane so I did some research on a cheaper shoe. I have learned cheap isn't always good and good isn't always cheap. In this case these are cheap and very good. A pair of Sketchers would last about 6 months before the soles were worn and the tip of the shoe would fall apart. So at $90 a pair 2 times a year, I decided to take a gamble. It's been 4 months and they show no signs of wear. They are light and very well built. Soles are still perfect and the shoe is holding up perfect. I think these will last me a year no problem. The only downfall are the inserts. The inserts are not good. I put in different better inserts which made all the difference in the world. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and will buy them again. Sketchers will not get anymore money from me.

I purchased these based solely on the fact I liked their appearance and needed a steel toe safety shoe despite some of the negative reviews I read on the fit & comfort. (I reasoned that if they didn't fit or were not comfortable I would just send them back). Well I can gladly report I can contradict any of the naysayers or negative reviews I read, on fit. These shoes are extremely comfortable and look great in black. I would not hesitate to wear them out in a casual, social setting either. So they are also quite versatile. So as for durability I can't really comment since I've only owned them a few days but upon close inspection they they appear to be very well made and solid and I have no worries about how the soles will will last upon repeated use.. also it should be noted that they are extremely affordable at $39.50. And fit true to size. This would be the perfect shoe for someone who spends time in an office but also needs to be on a construction site occasionally, or walk through a warehouse where they are forklifts running about.. that's my review and I'm sticking to it... These work shoes are awesome! Second week wearing them and they are great and very comfortable! I work in an open warehouse and i love them. One thing i would recommend is get a size up! Anytime you wear any shoes that have any kind of plating on the toes get one size bigger. Trust me
