Description

Battery Monitor - BMV-702 - BlackFeatures:Battery ‘fuel gauge’, time-to-go indicator, and much more The remaining battery capacity depends on the ampere- hours consumed, discharge current, temperature and the age of the battery. Complex software algorithms are needed to take all these variables into account. Next to the basic display options, such as voltage, current and ampere-hours consumed, the BMV-700 series also displays state of charge, time to go, and power consumption in Watts. The BMV-702 features an additional input which can be programmed to measure the voltage (of a second battery), battery temperature or midpoint voltage (see below). Bluetooth Smart Use the Bluetooth Smart dongle to monitor your batteries on Apple or Android smartphones, tablets, macbooks and other devices. Easy to install All electrical connections are to the quick connect PCB on the current shunt. The shunt connects to the monitor with a standard RJ12 telephone cable. Included: RJ 12 cable (10 m) and battery cable with fuse (2 m); no other components needed. Also included are a separate front bezel for a square or round display appearance, a securing ring for the rear mounting and screws for the front mounting. Easy to program (with your smartphone!) A quick install menu and a detailed setup menu with scrolling texts assist the user when going through the various settings. • AWSOME TOOL!
This has got to be my favorite piece of equipment on the boat. The accuracy of this unit is amazing. I tested this by watching the amps that were being drawn from the batteries with my original standers bulb running lights on my sailboat. I then swapped the running lights to all LED. It went from drawing 1.5 amps with the old lights to drawing 0.25 amps with the new LED lights. I performed this test with many of my electronics on the boat and compared the readings with the specs for each peace of equipment and this thing is accurate to the fraction of an amp, The only issue I have is that I have a two battery bank that are wired independently (not in a string) so it only gives basic monitoring of the second battery ( voltage reading). I still give it a five star rating as this unit is very useful, very accurate and gives me real time monitoring of my battery health. I am thinking of buying another unit to have the full array of monitoring of my second battery. ... show more

  • Nice gauge
The meter did everything it advertised and was fairly easy to install. The hardest part was routing the wire. My only criticism is that I wish the numbers were a little bigger.

  • this device tells you everything you need to know about the state of your batteries and I love the blue tooth
When set up correctly, this device tells you everything you need to know about the state of your batteries and I love the blue tooth. Just looking at my ipad while up on deck is an excellent feature. Highly recommend.

  • A fantastic tool and very easily installed
If you have a camper/RV with a house battery based electrical system, you need this tool. It tells you exactly how much current is being drawn and what the condition of the batteries are. A fantastic tool and very easily installed.

  • A new review after 2 yrs
Well after just 2 yrs the shunt is broken. Not only did it rust pretty fast inside my storage of our motorhome, but the cat 5 connector broke right off. What's even worse is getting a hold of victron to replace just the shunt. Left emails and after a few days all I get is a link to some other company that might be able to help. When talking to the other company, they did not really know what I was talking about. They said we will call you back within a few hours, that was a few days ago. Anyone know of a different shunt or monitoring system out there that stands behind their product? We are fully off grid and need one fast. ... show more
