Just a really nice chair for astronomy viewing.
Perfect chair for my astronomy observations both in the field and on hard surfaces like a parking lot (see photo). I especially liked the foot rest which most observing chairs don't have. I am 74" (6'2") tall, and weigh around 190lbs, and have never had the chair "slip" on me once in position. The chairs padding is sufficient, but I usually observe for more than 4hrs, so I've added my own seat cushion attachment myself. I've looked at other chairs for prices ranging from $150-$400, and this looked the best for both the money, design, and transporting. If you are like me a lover of the night skies and need a portable adjustable viewing chair, this one will be worth the purchase. I've had a few other observers with more expensive chairs even say this was a better chair than theirs.

THE ANSWER to every Double Bass players dreams!!
I gig a ton, and I play double bass. This chair is just the bomb. No kidding. Light, packs easily into the car, fast assembly on the gig. Nearly invisible on stage, and I play jazz. And, it doesn't cost $300 like some other chairs, and beats a stool because stools roll around in the back of your vehicle and bang everything ELSE up while you're transporting. You don't need to work that hard. No problem with support, I weigh 225 and this is no problem! Says Astronomy but don't buy that!!

Best $100 I've spent on astronomy!
I don't know what else to say! It works, and wonderfully. Such a load off my back and neck on those long sessions at the telescope. I simply cannot stargaze without it anymore. Also a godsend when hosting star parties; 2-3 seconds max to adjust the height in complete darkness. Maybe not as important if most of your viewers are adults, but we do viewings for lots of childrens groups and every time we do the line at my scope is so much longer than all the other guys' because the kids actually have a chance to SEE. VERY sturdy, but don't be an idiot and try to adjust the height with any weight on it and DO NOT try to exceed the weight limit; the device works on friction alone. It does NOT fold down *completely* flat because of the footrest bar; the folded dimensions are approx 45" vert by about 13.5" wide with a max clearance at the footrest at just a hair over 4". The seat is 10" by 13.5", as stated in the description. I have recommended (successfully!) this exact chair to two other stargazing friends, and now recommend it to you!

Perfect for astronomical viewing
The Vestil Ergonomic Chair is a sturdily built (easily holds my 200 lbs) easy to use product. The seat is comfortable, and in my case, makes astronomical viewing very easy. The grip of the chair is solid at all positions and it is readily adjusted to any height between 18” - 33”. I tested the chair at the 33” setting and found it to be solid enough for sitting and viewing....limited wobble and no worries of it collapsing. It is really an essential and necessary, but boring, piece of, in my case, astronomical hardware. And, it is a product that, once you use it, you wonder how you got along without it. Buy it, you’ll star gaze in happiness.

Astronomy used to be hard on my back
Great little chair. I use it for astronomy and have two different mounts I use it with. It has a small footprint which in the photos make it seem like it might be unstable. It really isn't. For astronomy this is actually a plus as it has to work its way between tripod legs depending on your vantage point to the eyepiece. It is light and very simple to move and readjust in height which you will do a lot during a typical night of observation. With the seat positioned where it is you have somewhat of a footrest with the lower support bar below it. It feels like a bar stool allowing a 270+ degree arc to swing your arms through because it has nothing on either side of you in the way. I weigh 200# and it has no trouble holding my weight throughout the height range. To adjust the height you just tilt the seat upward and move it to the desired position and let it fall back into place. It is held rigid by friction due to your weight. The last huge plus with this model is the fact that it folds flat like an ironing board. You can easily place this in the trunk of the smallest of cars. Highly recommended.

Brilliant design! Great chair for musicians.
I am thrilled with this chair. I've been wanting it for a long time but felt like it was too expensive and not absolutely necessary. I'm so glad I finally went ahead and got it. After a few months of chiropractor visits, this is really cheap by comparison! Brilliant design, light, easy to adjust, footrest in the perfect spot. This chair seems to be mostly reviewed by astronomers, but I saw it advertised as a bassists/musicians chair elsewhere. I play accordion and will be using this to perform semi-standing, to take some of the weight of the instrument off my back but still be mostly upright along with the rest of the band that is standing up. Even just practicing at home, sitting slightly higher than a normal chair feels much better on my body. I am 6' and find that the highest setting is more than I need, the range is great.
