I didn’t use this on a bathtub, but used it to paint ceramic tiles. The tiles in my guest bathroom were ceramic tiles, highly glazed with occasional patterned tiles with very dated flower patterns. The glaze was impervious to any and all sandpapers. I used various types of sandpaper (including silicon carbide) ranging from 320 grit down to 60 grit and tried all three of my power sanders, detail, orbital and even belt sander! Using the belt sander and 60 grit I was able to at least make to pattern tiles smooth and the pattern less visible, but the majority of the tiles were still highly glazed. Since I’d already defaced the pattern tiles I had to be sure to get the paint job right, so I gave them a coat of Stix primer and let it dry overnight. Then the next day I mixed up the Bekomn tile paint and applied 3 coats 2-3 hours apart. The tiles were white to start with so I could have got away with 2 coats, except that I wasn’t very careful about using only straight up and down roller movements and this was visible when it dried. I was more careful with the third coat and it dried perfectly. It really couldn’t have been any easier to work with and has little more smell than most regular paint. The coverage was very good and the finish is excellent. I started by using purchased foam rollers, with curved ends, but found that they left lines of paint at each side and found that the included roller was better in this regard because it was easier to clear the end of excess paint. The little paint brush included was also of surprisingly good quality shading no bristles and the roll of plastic sheeting with attached masking tape was a boon for covering the tub (spend a moment working out how to apply it before unrolling large lengths, because it’ll get tangled if you do). I love that the kit comes with two packs of hardener per paint pot, because it allows you to mix half a pot at a time. All in all, this worked very well and I’m delighted with the results. I tested the adhesion by painting the porcelain sink that I was disposing of with one coat of stix and two coats of Bekomn and after 24 hours I was unable to scratch it using my finger nail, no matter how hard I tried. I was able to scratch it with a screwdriver of course, but that’s extreme. As an aside, I’ve just replaced a breaker socket and inadvertently caught the painted tiles with my screwdriver twice and didn’t leave a mark! I’m well pleased with this, it allowed me to refurbish a quest bathroom for very little expense!

I was getting so tired of looking at our old tub in our apt after 10 years of being here. I wanted to paint it but didn't know how. I started researching different paint kits on Amazon and stumbled on this one. I was going to go with another one but after reading reviews I saw the odor was nearly intolerable. I decided to go with this one. It was so easy and the odor just smelled like paint. I cracked the window for some ventilation anyway. The whole process took about 4 hours. I did 3 coats. I felt the paint dried pretty quickly so I didn't wait the full 2 hours to do the second and third coats. I cleaned and sanded the night prior. Overall it is better than it was and that was my goal. I don't feel it came looking new. It's not as smooth as a new tub as I would've liked but it's nicer and cleaner to look at. I purchased extra rollers and a roller tray. That's the only thing I wish the kit came with was the tray. I was able to pour a little paint at a time in the tray and make sure I was doing thin even coats like the instructions and other reviews stated. Overall, satisfied with the results. Now I just hope it holds up over time. Edit- after using the shower and bath i discovered a bubble. I peeled the bubble away now I dont know what to do. I threw away the left over paint. So disappointed. Not sure if it was user error or the product

I ordered Rustoleum a few months ago, but after reading the reviews about the terrible smell, I decided to use Bekomn instead. This was a quick job for me because the original tub had the bare patches (pic 1) that I hated to look at daily. I did 2 coats and it looks great so far. I'm letting it dry for 7 days, so I won't know about how it holds up to daily use till Monday. I'm satisfied with the look already though. Also, there was zero smell. I had my industrial grade respirator ready to go but I didn't even need it. I initially had on a medical mask, but didn't need that either. GREAT PRODUCT!

14 years in same house. This is the 3rd time reglazing this old tub but this is the best kit by far! There is almost no odor while applying and very faint during dry/curing period. The product does run with drips if applied too thick so follow directions with several thin layers. I had to go over some areas. I thought using the brush was easier than the roller. No visible brush marks. I used orbital sander to smooth out areas where peeling from last glaze before starting. The other kits used in past from Lowes were more expensive and the odor was beyond strong and lasted for days (1st time paint/2nd time spray). I definately prefer the paint method, it lasts longer. The photo was taken before I caulked. I am happy with results from this kit. The color is bright white, smooth and glossy!
