Necessary but towel roll is cheaper
If you have bulged disks in your neck, you have to do this type of traction. If you want to save money, do what I’ve been doing for about 25 years. Get a long, thin towel, roll it up, fold it in half and tie it together at the ends with something strong. Tie the other end to a doorknob. Lie on the floor on your back, put your head in the circle made by the towel, make sure the bottom of the towel is sitting at the base of your skull, then scoot out from the door and rest your head in the towel. It looks exactly like the pictures of this gadget except that you’re using a towel. See my picture. For those of you asking about where the Neck Hammock should go, you should feel the pull on the base of your skull for both this and the towel roll. Because this does not address curvature, you also want to lie on your back on a bed with your head hanging over the edge a little bit. Your head should be resting firmly on the bed and the edge of the bed should be right on the base of your skull. You just want to feel a little gravitational pull.

Dangerous Products
Within minutes of 1st use, the plastic clasp that holds the strap together broke. This caused the clasp to slingshot and hit me in the eye, giving me a black/red eye. It hit hard enough that I saw a bright flash. There was no warning about this danger in the instructions. I would give 0 starts if possible.

TERRIBLE....DANGEROUS!!!
Buyer beware!!! Bungee broke away from strap and came crashing down on my face with the force of a stretched bungee cord with a plastic buckle attached. Still having pain in my right eye...seeing blurry and pain across my nose. I used it for 3 min. Horrible...do not buy!!!

No instructions on how to use is concerning
The product seems to be of good quality and is as described. It is concerning that there are no directions, recommendations and instructions for use. Which way do you put the head piece on, foam pads up or down? How long and how often should it be used? Are there any safety precautions or conditions under which the product is contraindicated? It is after all, advertised as an FDA approved device.

I would give it 5 stars if there's an instruction on where my head/neck should rest on
I am pretty impressed by the product. However, I can only give it 4 stars because I don't find any information about where my head/neck should rest on the device. I checked the included documentation and the official website. Yes, there are pictures and videos, but each person's body is different and it would be a lot more helpful if the company explicitly instructs user where our head/neck should rest on.

Does NOT do what it says it should do, not comfortable, bad design
I got this for neck strain due to sitting at a computer all day but it DOES NOT WORK to relieve strain--in fact made it worse.. I tried every which way to get my neck comfortable in it but it pulls more UP than back (and I re-positioned my head/body numerous times to try to create that effect). The worst thing is that the item actually puts pressure all around your skull as it wraps tightly, foam doesn't help as it just squeezes your head and creates pressure (so that it induces a pressure-headache), it's not AT ALL comfortable (needs some super-soft padding or something not chunks of foam!). Moreover it needs "structure" to it--something more than just fabric wrapping up tight around your head. Even if it worked I don't think it's worth the $49.99 at all, seeing it's just made from synthetic fabric and non-luxury straps/foam. May work for some folks but not for me. Also note that YOU have to pay return shipping on this item, it's not technically an "Amazon" purchase (from now on I likely won't buy from LLC's, rather just deal with Amazon directly).

Immediate Relief!
I rarely take the time to write reviews, despite the fact that I depend heavily on them when deciding on ordering a product. I suffer from inflammatory arthritis and have degenerative disc disease in my neck. I have debilitating cervicogenic headaches. Recently in addition to the usual neck pain, I developed a pinched nerve in my neck. In physical therapy I am regularly placed in traction. The traction provides some immediate relief caused by the disc compression. I saw a random ad for this neck hammock online and thought WTH. Let me tell you, this thing is great. It is so easy to set up...just hang it on the door and you are ready to go. I lie in it several times a day. Frequently I wake up during the night due to numbness and pain, and I get up and lie in the neck hammock for about 10 min and it helps so much. My PT was impressed with it when I took it to a session for him to see. If you have any neck pain at all, you will find this to be a big help!

Door knob strap too long for door knobs
The strap adjustment was just way too long for my door knobs and for most doors knobs . No rails were available to use inside house. The sewn strap option is a very stable apparatus - which I appreciated. Sorry that I had to return it. With the shortest strap adjustment, my head was lying on the floor. Great product but there needs to be a shorter adjustment on strap for lower door knobs.
