abunda_amazon_reviews I had read reviews of TCL's 2017 lineup of TVs and I decided to buy one when it was time to upgrade our old 1080p 52" TV. I settled on this 55" 4K LED TV with HDR. The price was amazing for the quality of the television. I must say the picture is superb. It will not disappoint in the least. I particularly like the way they have incorporated the Roku, which we already used, into the TV. It even scans for channels on your antenna and puts an icon on the Roku screen to quickly switch to the broadcast side. The picture is very watchable right out of the box but some tweaking makes it even more beautiful. Here are the settings I have: Brightness: Darker Picture Mode: Movie Backlight: 85 Brightness: 54 Contrast: 90 Sharpness: 5 Color: 50 Tint: 0 Color Temp: Warm Picture Size: Auto I hope this is a help to someone and that you enjoy your new TV. We certainly are.;;July 23, 2017;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;TCL 55C807 4K Ultra HD Roku TV - Great TV, Wonderful Price;;cwp;;;Let me start out this review by saying I am not TV expert. I picked this TV up over 1 month ago. I was holding out for the 65 in P series but unfortunately that one was cancelled before being released. The C series however has not disappointed. Roku: Works just like a Roku TV with the added ability to control the TV settings. I have noticed however that in some apps when you open them the screen just goes dark. You have to go back home and open the app again to get it to work. There is also some lag when turning on the TV and trying to open apps. Both of these issues are to be addressed in future software updates. It doesn't happen that often though. When you sign into the Roku TV, if you have another Roku device you can choose to sync the device and all of your apps will load onto your Roku TV. Be aware though that you make need to sign into each app. Brightness: Solved my issues of not being able to view my TV in a bright room. Reflections: I've added a video for you to get an idea of the reflections. My video doesn't do a great job of showing how bright my room is though. But compared to my previous plasma, at least with this TV I can actually see the dang thing. Design: Very thin. However, its so thin that the TV can wobble on its base. Looks fantastic though! Sound: In my video I posted I do have a SoundBar however the TV is loud enough that I don't need to use it. The sound in my opinion is just as good as the sound Bar. Remote: Its a Roku remote with voice recognition and and headset jack so that you can listen to the TV through headphones. This is very handy if you live in a smaller place. Or just prefer the added sound immersion. Also its super easy to use and has a battery indicator to show how much battery is left. This indicator shows on the screen not the remote. Dolby Vision, 4K: Really impressive. I can finally read the text when playing PS4 games. On my old TV the text was just fuzzy. Youtube vids look fantastic and the neat thing is when watching a movies that has Dolby Vision the TV will automagically switch it on for you. Packaging: This came well packaged and secured and Amazon's delivery service was fast and punctual. They carried it all the way to my apartment for me. I'm really happy with this purchase. I have a massive 65 inch TV that is insanely affordable and has all the spec boxes checked. You want to watch HBO, sport or you want to play video games on it. If you are "casual" TV user, this is the perfect product for you. Also, the television looks very good in a living room. It's thin and it very well designed. However, the TV speakers are weak and you'll have a better experience if you use a soundbar/sound system. This is a ROKU TV, so you have to like the OS. Again it's decent if you are a casual viewer. It's 3 stars if you are a little bit pickier. You watch a lot of 4K content and you don't really value HDR. Again, a 75in TV at that price that does 4K HDR is a steal. However, the ROKU OS can be a pain. I personally find the OS clunky. The main problem is that this TV is edge lid, so you will have light bleeding on the edges and on the corners. The black level is not uniform. Again, that's not a big deal if you are okay with this. It's 2 stars if you watch UHD Bluray and you value 4K and HDR. This TV is really not bright in its HDR mode. The light bleeding is really annoying if you watch a movie like Dunkirk or the Revenant. You can play with the backlight settings, the brightness and the contrast, you won't have deep/uniform black level. This is simply a problem with edge lit TV's and that's okay. You can check the Rtings.com review to have more details. I personally returned the TV. I initially bought it to watch hockey, HBO and play XBOX. It was perfect for that. But once I really got into the "home theater" rabbit hole and bought some UHD Bluray, I started being picky. For me, this TV does not offer a good "home theater" experience. I bought a x900e instead. 1,000$ more expensive but it's a local dimming TV with better black level.;;May 4, 2018;;3.0 out of 5 stars;;Amazing TV for the price if you are casual viewer.
