    • A very nice air conditioner

I like it. It is very quiet, has many nice features, and comes with a remote which is surprisingly handy. I use it on a timer, and even though it has electronic controls, it remembers its settings and when power is restored (by the timer) comes back on as it should. Temperature control is excellent. I use it in a 9 x 12 bedroom and it has no trouble getting it as cold as I want. I don't like air conditioners that shut off the fan when the compressor isn't running, and this one has an option to leave the fan running continuously. The only thing I don't know about is the reliability of the unit, as I've only had it for a few days. It does seem well made. I did buy a service plan, which I usually don't do. It was $45 for 4 years which seems like a good deal to me, especially considering the reviews that describe problems with the unit and with getting service. Two complaints: First, the output vents do not adjust much, and the unit was blowing cold air directly on me in bed. I built a simple diverter; problem solved. Second, the installation instructions were pretty awful, and I couldn't really install it satisfactorily, partly because my window has brass weatherstripping that blocks the sill. It requires installing it with a slight downward slope, but you can't measure the slope with the sash down, which it has to be. There's also no way for me to fasten the bottom of the unit using the supplied clips. And, the manual shows two included pieces of weatherstripping, I only got one (plus some strange sticky foam not shown in the parts list), and there is nothing in the instructions about how and where to use the foam. ... show more

Not much to say except it's exactly what it claims to be. I have it installed in a decent sized bedroom and it works perfectly. I have no idea what the square footage is, but I can say in less than 30 minutes of operation, this AC had the room noticeably cooler (it replaced a defunct window unit that in comparison to this one I think wasn't cooling properly for a while as this one was so much colder so much faster, etc.) If you happen to have wood window sills, then everything you need is in the box (screws to secure the window to the top of the AC and to ensure the fold outs on the sides remain extended, etc.) It honestly took longer to get the only broken AC out of the window than it did to install this one lol. It doesn't have a remote, but considering the size room you're likely to install it in TO ME it doesn't matter at all. I also like that it has mechanical controls (rotating switches, etc.) rather than digital controls...this AC just seems very durable in how it's made 👍 ... show more

This unit was cheap in price. Came with Energy Star Trim and Remote. I turned it on for 15minutes not installed and it blew Cold. The Instructions did not mention the Trim Kit and how to install. I looked at it for a few and figured it out. I added pics if you are wanting some help or a hint on how to add it. 1. Pull Curtain Past Frame Pic 1 2. Thread the Plastic end of the Curtain into the extruded metal parts on side of A/C pic 2 3. After you install both sides THEN you can install the TOP Bar and screw that down. I got this to replace a floor unit in the kitchen that is a 12k BTU but takes up floor space the floor unit is much quieter than this unit. I would not want this in my bedroom, or it will take some getting used to if you do. It is louder than a Box Fan on High, not much more but a bit more. I have Central Air but when brewing and cooking large meals it is Nice to cool it down with out using the Central A/C. That is why I got it. The Filter is accessible via the front tilt down door. Be-careful not to snap the tabs when you open it. I did not try the Remote. The book says you can connect Wi-Fi and use your Phone to start it, adjust Temp, etc. It also has a Timer to set when you want it to come home or turn off. TCL is the same brand as my ROKU T.V and we are happy with that thus far. ... show more

Keeps a small room very cool and comfortable, display light can be turned off as well. The batteries for the remote control aren't great but they work for a little while. Many automatic features...none of which I particularly like, auto modes did not keep room cool.

The box came damaged but the unit was fine. Install was easy and everything needed was included in-box. This 8K unit keeps my apartment ice-cold! My only complaint is that even on the 'low' setting, the fan is pretty intense and rather loud. Id say it drowns out any compressor noise. That being said, this unit really moves some air and provides some nice white-noise at bedtime. Great buy! ... show more
