abunda_amazon_reviews The biggest question before purchasing this item was if it folded. 1 person on amazon said it didn't and the only way to remove the rail was to un screw the bolts. This didn't seem right because you can see a quick disconnect pin in the pictures.(what would they have this for if you have to unbolt it anyways?) So because of my untrusting self, I email the company(Sunny Health) requesting images and confirmation that the item folded up. They didn't return images but did confirm it folded. Well, I shouldn't have been so trusting with them either because they were wrong. They probably saw images of the lower model. Live and learn I guess. What this item does do though is "quickly" comes apart. I have attached a couple photos that hopefully shows how this works. You essentially pull the pin and the lift the parts apart. Make sure that you unplug the wires before doing so. The wires plug into each other right below the joint. Is this hard? No. Is it quick? Yes, probably just as fast as folding. Putting it back together is the ever so slightly more complicated part. Just need to make sure it's line up and it goes in smooth. Only flaw to this design is that everything doesn't stay together and you need a spot for the rail/seat. The rail is a couple inches longer than the magnetic portion so setting them side by side works OK. The magnetic wheel portion has wheels on it so it isn't too tough to wheel around. I have flat carpet and it makes it a bit tough. The wheels are probably useless if you have any sort of shag carpet. On to a bit more than if it folds.(1 star removed for all of the above reason) Assembly/packaging Its a decent size box and a bit on the heavy/lopsided size. I believe the shipping weight is around 90lbs, maybe a bit less, and it is probably right around 5 feet long and about 10 inches thick and really heavy on one side. Makes carrying it by one person a bit tough, especially after the mail people beat it up a little. I just opened the box and dragged the pieces in one at a time :/ Assembly was probably as easy as it gets. There are about 4 steps and that is it. (attach front bar, attach plastic to rear metal bar, attach foot bolts and pedals, attach bar to machine) Quick note about the plast part at the rear of the machine. USE YOUR OWN SCREWDRIVER, the supplied one will strip the screw because the holes are not perfectly cut in the plastic so there is a bit of force needed. Using the supplied screwdriver multi tool almost stripped the entire thing. I got out my screwdriver and it went in easy. Not a big deal, just do it. Had socket set on hand but didn't really need it for the rest of parts, screwing them in by hand and then using the supplied tool to finish it off didn't take any time at all. Quality Over all it seems great. I'm not the lightest but have only used it for about 2 hours so far. It does note that this is the "light commercial" use version and that is kind of what sold me. I'm over 200#(6'4") and wanted something that would handle this well. The rail is a nice piece of steal and I know I said earlier that you put the piece of plastic on the rear of the rail but note that there is a piece of steal that goes down and supports this piece of plastic as well so you are not just sitting on a rail that is supported by plastic. Seats cushion isn't the softest but it also isn't plastic. Usability I'm moving up from a piston style rower that couldn't seem to stay together more than half a session. When comparing this to that, this one is amazing(for the 2 hours of use). The bar you pull is connected by a strap if that matters to anyone. It seems that most of them are. I haven't ever used a commercial rower at a gym so I don't know how realistic this is compared to one of those. Everything else is smooth as butter and well worth the upgrade costs. Noise I am very aware and cautious of noise as I'm in an apartment. This is very quiet. I still put it on 1/2" vibration squares just in case but the loudest part are the wheels on the seat going back and forth. The rest of the machine is pretty quiet but maybe just as loud as the seat. Overall, a quiet ride and about as quiet as they come. Overall Definitely a good quality machine from what I can tell. Have only had it for a weekend so we shall see in the long run soon enough. This machine makes the entire body feel worked out afterwards where as the piston style(stamina 1201) I had was a complete disaster that would literally fall apart with use. I did pick this up on sale and in the last week the price has already gone up so I have no regrets for my purchase yet. Great product and can't wait to use it more. If you don't here from me soon, it means it and me are still workin on it. Any questions, ask away and maybe I can answer them since there aren't many reviews for this machine out there yet. Quick edit - Polar T31 Non-Coded Transmitter and Belt Set works with this rower(this rower doesn't come with a heart rate monitor but does work with them) I took a shot in the dark and the below one works with it. http://www.amazon.com/Polar-T31-Non-Coded-Transmitter-Belt/dp/B000N4N4UG?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00 It has been about 4 months of use now and I need to raise the rating. Sunny Health has great customer service after all. I had a small issue with a part and overall they did everything in there power to fix it and eventually did(even after sending the wrong part, they still did everything to send the correct one). 2/18/2017 Well this will probably be my last update. I have been using this regularly for about a year(take off a month for the fattening holidays, but I'm back at it) I disassemble mine every time and the power cords have held up well. The only issue I had was the strap frayed pretty quick, within the first couple of months. I must have grazed it on the edge when figuring out how to use the dang thing. Sunny Health had great customer service but didn't have any straps on hand so I went DIY. I ended up with the below nylon strap and haven't replaced it since. Assuming you have a phillips, a decent mechanics tool set and know someone with a good sewing machine, it should be a simple swap out of old and in with the new. My new strap is green and adds a little spunk to the machine. I don't see anyone else complaining about the strap so maybe I just got a bad one. I removed the old strap, layed it next to the new material and just copied the stitching and size the best I could. I have been using this strap longer than the original and has held up with no other issues. Made 2 backups but haven't needed them yet. Strap - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003H24BQ2 Another small but maybe useless mod I made was I added a knock off fatmat to the interior of the machine to help dampen the sound(I live in an apartment). It was never supper noisy but this helped reduce the noise of the plastic vibrating and maybe helped with the sound a bit. I had it laying around from an audio upgrade on my car so there was no extra expense there as I didn't really know what to do with it anyways. Other than that, my original review stands and this is a fantastic little machine for the price paid. Pretty quiet and durable. I think I have hit on everything that has gone wrong with mine. Have had to replace the batteries but that should be a given. I only use the monitor for # of strokes and time. Not the most compact but this one seems built to last. Over all not bad, but wish I had spent a little more money
I like that it does not make a lot of noise, the magnetic resistance is good, feels sturdy, i am around 220. The display is hard to see, wish it had back lighting, I've used it about 10 times and the rollers on the seat now feel like a car tire that is out if balance.

Assembly instructions were fair at best. It does not replicate a true rowing motion

Does this one fold up? NADA!
The biggest question before purchasing this item was if it folded. Enjoy!

Overall very solid.
I'm a very large dude (6'5" and at the top of the weight limit) and this thing works great. I can't understand how someone could ever flip this thing over. I hit it with everything I've got and it doesn't budge. I have it on hardwood floor. Here are my cons: I wish the pull bar was wider. I'm at the very ends and still bumps my knees (again, I'm a large human). Also, I received a unit with a faulty count meter. I worked with the manufacturer to get it corrected.

Great and affordable
We have had this for a while now and everything works as it should. The display is really bad and not backlit. I had to start on level 1 and cannot come close to higher levels so that is cool. My husband primarily uses it and removed the bar to replace with a mountain bike bar and uses this to train for enduro mountain bike racing and loves how it does assist with the upper body control.

It worked great while it worked
I've been using regularly for 15 months, had to replace the foot pedals once, needs it again. Yesterday the rower quit retracting, took it apart and found the retracting cord is essentially a big bungee cord that wore out and broke in two. So got about 15 months use out of it. It worked great while it worked.

Great Machine
Very sturdy, super smooth and quiet! My husband is at the top of the recommended weight and there is no problem at all. Like this especially because the seat is very comfortable. No issues with displays like some mentioned and it went together very quickly. No issues yet and have been using for a month.
