abunda_amazon_reviews I live in a heavily wooded area & always have lots of brush piles. I have been cutting them up & burning them, but I wondered if there was a better use for it all. I wanted a wood chipper, but the gas powered ones were way too expensive for me & I wasn't sure if the electric ones were good enough. I watched many reviews on YouTube about electric wood chippers. I noticed most people don't use these correctly or are trying to push it till it breaks. That's not how I use things, but I found one video where it was actually used properly & that's when I made the decision to get this SunJoe 15 Amp chipper. I have to say I am very impressed, it is more powerful than the videos show. The motor is about as loud as a vacuum cleaner. They are limited to around 1.5 inch thick branches. Anything bigger than that goes in the firewood pile. This chipper eats up small limbs really well. It pulls in limbs as it cuts. They need to be straight & any off chute branches should be cut & fed in on their own. The blades are reversible & replaceable. You will have to chip a lot before they wear down. It comes with a paddle to shove in limbs so you won't try to use your hands. This thing is pretty safe as long as you read the manual & use it correctly. I have been chipping oak, poplar, black locust, beech, sassafras, staghorn sumac, walnut, maple, ash, pine, & wild grape vines. Chipping green bark peeling trees such as poplar can jam up the cutter. Let those trees dry out for a while & then they will chip better. The chips are almost like sawdust & do real well as garden mulch. As long as you have plenty of wood & this machine you won't have to buy mulch ever again. The trick to using this machine is to not feed in bigger limbs at once. Feed them in a little at a time & let the motor rev back up. Shoving it in hard all at once will bog the motor down & cause it not to work right. Also put a container at the base to catch the chips so clean up is a lot easier. Make sure to wear safety glasses & hearing protectors.;;Reviewed in the United States on September 2, 2018;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Reduce Your Brush Piles to Mulch;;mdRazz;;;Turns out, A TON!! This little chipper is just the tool. I have three apple trees on my small property. None had been pruned for a couple of years. After pruning, I had a backyard full of limbs. I considered renting a chipper from the local hardware store. That would cost me about $100 for 4 hours. Fun, but cost prohibitive. I ran across this little guy. After some additional research I made the investment. Couldn't be happier. This is perfect for tree prunings that are straight. The items that were bent and curved took some additional work. Often I just cut off the bend and tossed that part in the yard debris. If you're working with tree branches that aren't very straight, this may not be the product for you. As a bonus, the wood chippings make a great addition to the landscaping. The included picture is me just getting started. I was able to fill up this area, plus a couple more. Love it! I was in the yard for six hours chipping branches. (Good thing this isn't a review on the help I got from my kids - it wouldn't get five stars). This machine never once got tired. Two times I tried to put a branch in that I questioned would be too big for the chipper. I was right. Turned it off, pulled the branch out and started it right back up. Put that branch in the firewood pile. This bad boy is all ready for next year's tree pruning. Can't wait!!!;;Reviewed in the United States on February 1, 2019;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;How much wood can a woodchuck chuck???;;LaMar M;;;This is really a great wood mulcher overall. It seems to work really well at breaking down branches. The only downside is that the opening is so narrow that if the branches you are working with have many small branches or too much of a curve that you will have to do some pre-trimming in order to get the job done with this. I'm sure the opening is the way it is so that someone does not try and shove overly large branches into the shredder past its limits but it does seem to cause problems with properly sized branches. The only other thing that I found that I did not like so much was that it was difficult to put a normal storage tote under the trimmer to catch the trimmings because of the support bar. The plastic storage box I was trying to use kept moving away from the chipper because of the angle of the bar tilting it away from the chipper. It is surprising how small of a pile of mulch comes out of such a large pile of tree branches! Overall though I am glad I bought it.;;Reviewed in the United States on March 16, 2017;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Overall great buy!;;Chris;;;It looks like a solid machine, good for small stuff...
