I've been trying to get better at cutting my son's hair, but the flimsy, junky shears that came with my (good quality) clipper set just made me frustrated and hair ragged looking. These fantastic scissors are sharp, both on the blade and the tip, and make smooth, tidy cuts without snagging or ripping the hair. The weight is nice-- light enough to move and manipulate without making your hand/wrist tired, but heavy enough that it cuts well and stays put through the whole cut. The finger holes are a good size as well-- large enough for my slightly-above-average sized female fingers (size 7 ring size with thicker thumbs), but not so large that they slip around. They also have a little plastic insert inside the finger holes that you can pop out if you need a few more mm or prefer the tactile feel of the metal instead. ... show more

It might sound weird, but I have ordered hair cutting scissors in the past that weren't very sharp, felt flimsy during use, or were uncomfortable to hold. This pair is none of those things. I've been using a shorter pair of scissors for years, so it was nice to try something with longer blades. They're very light and look good in the blue finish. I like the finger stud for stabilization, which I've never had on a pair of scissors before. The pivot screw is brass and screws into what appears to be a plastic bushing, which should help keep the tightness at a set level. Not sure if the plastic would be a weakness in the long-term, but this type of scissor is not intended for heavy torque use anyway. The two blades arrived with a little bit of wiggle, but the edges make even contact when cutting so I haven't tightened the screw. Good product photos which show dimensions, the important one for me being the cutting length of about 2.5". I'll update after encounter a problem after a few hundred more cuts. 4.5 stars. ... show more

You'd better be 1000% sure you want your hair cut when you whip these babies out because they are SHARP and aren't for the indecisive! lol. In fact, they're so sharp that you can hold them open and use one shear blade at a time like a razor for thinning. I'm not a professional haircutter, but these seem pretty "pro" to me! ... show more
