With the full-function remote control, you can change the color, the mode, and the speed of the ripple effect.     • This Could Be The Best Ever... With A Few Improvements

First off, great service, I got the two units and both worked straight out of the box. A++++ on that. I set one unit up in my bedroom, going for a somewhat subdued, underwater effect. The blue filter is beautiful but it looks as if we're trying to sleep next to a nuclear reactor! It's really bright. A physical speed setting (a knob or screw to turn) to control brightness would be awesome. The one I set up in my front room is best deployed there, as the "Speed 1" (slowest) is far from "tranquil", it's more like "party time". While it too has the same brightness as the one in the bedroom, it would be nice to have a speed setting as mentioned for bright/dim. And finally, the units are so well constructed (not bad at all for the price!) that one could set it up and connect it to a wall switch. Except there's one problem- when you kill power to the unit, the circuitry reverts back to the "default" program which is the ever-changing light colors. Then one has to find the remote and change it there. Let's talk about the remote- it's very small, light, flexible and it feels like I'm going to squish it like a bug when I push a button. I fear for its safety in my house. The remote is also a major reason why I want to use "physical adjustments" rather than deploying it farther than the safety of a prescribed area. So to recap what I feel would be good improvements to a really cool product: 1. Physical potentiometer adjuster for brightness 2. Physical potentiometer adjuster for speed 3. For 20.00 I was expecting total garbage that might last a week. Instead im pleasantly surprised that its actually pretty good. In the past I've bought lights like this that cost a great deal. In particular I own a Martin DC-1 which ran 170.00 which was the same as this except its big, heavy, and it has a halogen lamp. It eventually started smoking when a cap went bad and I haven't used it since. This light here doesn't have the same smooth color change as the DC-1 however it is much brighter and cheaper. For what this is, its a pretty good value. I read online that it had a plastic beveled glass filter however its actually a glass wheel which is nice. The only bad thing is the fan. Sometimes on start up the fan sounds like it's bearings are about to go. I'm not sure why it needs the fan at all, its not a halogen light and for 20.00 I'll eventually experiment and see if it will run ok without the fan. It only seems to get hot when more then one LED is on at the same time. The slowest rotation speed is so slow that the wheel can actually get stuck. Also don't bother with the tripod stand, if you want to angle it just use the small hanging bracket. ... show more

First off, the important things: There was a minor problem with the order itself, but the vendor took care of it VERY fast and did so in a professional manner that says that their company cares about customers. I was very happy with how they addressed it and how easy they were to get hold of. I even bragged to some friends and family about how nice it was to actually receive customer service from a company that seems to actually care about what they are doing. Great Job!! Second, this is a great and fun little product. It it NOT plastic. It is encased in a metallic blue aluminum housing which is well made. It is put together using typical machined Phillips head screws, and therefore makes the product serviceable to those who know a little bit about electronics. It projects a very bright "flowing water" type pattern that can change color, flash, or respond to music, depending on how you select the settings (using the IR remote). It is great for a party, or a kids room, or just a fun LED (no heat) night light (although it is very bright). The unit while running is actually relatively quiet. I am actually quite glad i purchased this item. I am specifically going to look to go through this vendor, for future purchases (due to great service , and will look for this brand of item when buying fun lights or side small stage lights. ... show more

The first one I received was damaged in shipping. The company directly contacted me about it and shipped me another almost immediately without hassle. I was more than pleased that the company itself handled the issue and did so without any hesitation or red tape. The second one arrived without any issues. I used the light on the back yard and it was a nice compliment to the theme and was not overbearing or too bright. It is the perfect background lighting for a small to medium space. Not a bad light for small budget stage effects. I teach elementary music, and need a water effect light for a show I'm doing. My elementary school stage is about 24 feet wide and 20 feet deep. It has no problem filling the stage and being seen in a low to no ambient light environment. If you plan on using it in a larger room, room with moderate ambient light, or both...you may need something brighter. Overall, I'm satisfied with the value of this light and will probably get a couple more to fill out the edges of my stage. ... show more

I ordered several of these, and one of them had loose parts. Starlight replaced the unit very efficiently, so I was pleased by the service. The tripod is adjustable, but tends not to keep its shape well, probably because it is brand new. I have received many compliments on the image displayed. It looks very soothing and pleasant. Color selection is fairly good, and the remote makes it easy to manage. While there are superior projectors out there, they're all quite a bit more expensive. This one is a great value. ... show more
