abunda_amazon_reviews Was looking at purchasing the other version of this same tablet mount (non-metal) and saw this one on the companies website. After reading a few reviews about the threaded part stripping out on the plastic version, I decided to spend a few extra dollars and get the metal version instead. THe part that clamps to the tablet is still plastic and rubber, but the piece (silver colored part) that mounts to the tripod is anodized aluminum. The product is built well and does exactly what I needed. I am using it to hold a ASUS MeMO Pad 7 that I am using as a monitor for my Canon DSLR (along with the DSLR Controller app). The mount connects to a tripod nicely allowing for easy viewing adjustments. The tablet grip is firm and the product design looks like it will hold up to everyday use. This review will be updated if I experience any quality issues, but for now I am very happy with this purchase. Still wish it was made in the USA though. Works great, though you DEFINITELY need the Professional Mini Ball Head Camera Mount (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000L47AHG/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_27) or the mount would not be able to open enough at the bottom to allow the ipad mini to fit.
