Nice Picture but cannot add Apps
Picture is nice, clear, and sharp! I do not use the speakers from the t.v. the sound is going through my stereo so no comment on the sound/speakers. Every once in a while the t.v. will not turn on, I will have to unplug the power cord, wait a couple of minutes and plug it back in, then it will work. Not sure what that is about, but it doesn't happen too often. Biggest con that I was not aware of when buying this t.v. is that you cannot not add apps. The apps that were preloaded on the t.v are: -Prime Video -Movies & T.V. VUDU -Pandora -Opera TV -Netflix -Yuppy TV -Berliner Philharmoniker -Youtube -Hulu -Kids Fortunately the app I use the most, Netflix, is already preloaded. Overall I like the t.v. but not being able to add apps is a big deal to me that I wish I would have realized before I purshased.

Great picture but a few shortcomings
The Good: - Picture quality is outstanding - Motion rate is great. It's native 60MHz but Sony's firmware does get it to 240MHz range - SmartTV works well. Slightly sharper picture than with my Roku. The Not So Good: - The sound quality is average to below average. I have other Sony Bravia HDTVs (smaller) which have much better sound quality. If you're going to use external speakers, then not a problem. It drove me to external speakers. - The location of HDMI1 and Audio(optical) ports are problematic if wall mounting. Whoever designed the location must have been smoking weed at the time. The wall mount plate will cover these ports. I needed these ports so I had to hacksaw my wall mount plate to access. See photo. If not wall mounting, then not a problem. Overall, a great picture makes up for deficiencies that are correctable if you address.

Can not recommend!
I ordered this TV at the end of March as an upgrade for the downstairs TV. Arrived promptly, looked nice and worked as expected, at first. After 35 days or so it started having intermittent issues. The screen back light would come on, but no picture would display. Only way to fix it was to disconnect the power supply, then plug back in. It got to the point where 80% of the time when you hit the power button on the remote it would freeze. The unit also started hanging whenever we tried to use Netflix or Amazon apps. Called Sony customer support and ran through the script, then they dispatched a replacement unit after a week of calls. The replacement arrived and the box looked like it had been run over by the truck. Not Sony's fault per-say and we refused delivery. After calling Sony CS again the said they were going to send out another replacement unit via a courier company. It took many hours of waiting on hold and 70 days to get the second replacement TV. The courier box arrived in pristine condition and they took the old unit away. The new TV clearly had bad pixels and ring effects coming from the bottom of the screen edge. Now getting a refund as I have no interest in trying my luck with any more Sony products or wasting so much time with CS.

Was fairly decent TV, but not so great for PC video. THIS PRODUCT WAS COUNTERFEIT!
I was hoping to connect my PC to this TV, but it has no VGA port, unfortunately. Just has two HDMI ports. One of the ports, the ARC one, just happens to be where the vesa wall mount plate goes, and gets blocked by it. There is no VGA port, so you'll need a VGA to HDMI adapter to get an older PC's video to be picked up by the TV. I was disappointed to discover the set won't accept (16:9 aspect) 1280x720, or 1920x720p from a PC. Supported Computer Resolutions: (4:3) 1024 x 768 (XGA), 1280 x 768 (WXGA), 1360 x 768, 640 x 480 (VGA), 800 x 600 (SVGA) There is also no way to connect PC audio directly to the set. That's handled by HDMI ONLY!. The picture looks fairly even, all across the screen, in terms of brightness, except in the corners, where it's a bit dimmer. Viewing angle is fairly decent. It is LCD, so, yeh, if you view from too acute an angle, the picture will look a bit dimmer. However, the brightness at acute viewing angles (greater than 45 degrees from center) is much better than most LCD sets I've had. Even high, and low position viewing looks decent. I did notice a wee bit of dimness in the far corners of the screen, but it's tolerable. It aint a CRT. LOL ;) Most LCDs I've had got washed out picture when viewed from very close. This one looks fairly decent, even at close distances. Audio is "ok", could be better, if the speakers were forward firing, instead of pointing at the floor. LOL. The set is very light weight, and perfect for mounting on a DJ lighting stand, with the proper vesa plate, and o-clamp attached. It'll be interesting to see how many years this one lasts. The last set I had only ran for 4 years, minimal usage per day, and was not a Sony. Would've been nice, had the set come with mounting screws for the vesa plate, though. The stand leaves a bit to be desired. It felt a bit flimsy, but then the set is very light weight. Would also have been nice if the set came with a coax, and HDMI cables. But then, most factories don't give you your money's worth anymore, anyway. LOL. I was not happy about the seller cheaping out on the shipping. I don't appreciate my purchases being shipped in retail containers. They're not meant for shipping, and don't hold up well to that. It also makes the product vulnerable to porch piracy, and dishonest delivery drivers. UPDATE: I've noticed, after too much time has passed to return the set, you can only use the remote about 5 or 6 times, and then the set stops responding. This, and the fact it won't take 16:9 aspect video from a PC tells me it's a fraudulent Chinese counterfeit. I've filed a report with the Federal Trade Commission, and our local authorities. A case number has been assigned for felony fraud, and larceny by trick, along with passing a counterfeit product to an unsuspecting customer. SO NOT HAPPY! IN FACT, I'M DOWNRIGHT ANGRY!!! I'll update as needed.

like our Samsungs and Panasonic
My first impression was just "meh..." when we set it up. The screen was not sharp, like our Samsungs and Panasonic. But this is a bedroom TV and we don't watch it all that much — mostly at night before we go to sleep. We kept it, in spite of it's less than stellar picture. Now, just 7 months later (and I didn't even install it right away — it's only been running for about 5 months), it continues to need to be unplugged and plugged back in just to get it to turn on. I'm going to contact Sony (this appears to be a known problem), but I shouldn't have had to. I rolled the dice on this TV, figuring Sony was a big player, but I should have stuck with Samsung. Lesson learned...
