I'm using the kiloohm adaptive helmet mount on Etsy and it works great, I can walk around hands free and there is no lag in the viewfinder! but be sure to follow the setup tips for no lag. I bought this camera due to the fact I wanted to do surveillance in a “man made” dark area - meaning the inhabitants knocked out the street lights - without them knowing I was watching. The other camera I have had a noticeable IR light which this doesn’t. Yet, without SOME artificial light you are a dead stick. The wifi feature is cool, and an easy way to transfer pics and videos... but it is Gimmicky... meaning it will disconnect without warning which is aggravating. Over all this camera is a good tool to have. No matter if it’s for sporting or for work, it’s a wonderful addition to the tool box. Excellent! I got the Aurora on the pre-order. Low light, not night vision
I am in law enforcement and use this on a regular basis. Does it work? Yes! Low light issues it is PERFECT. Disappointed. The big beautiful ad photos are somewhat deceptive for this scope / camera. They heavily advertise a 1 inch square sensor but that's the interior electronics. The actual view finder that the consumer uses is about half the size of a small postage stamp. Its TINY! Also, there is quite a bit of lens distortion and color distortion in the twilight and night mode. Very limited usefulness. Its not really a Gen 2 or even Gen 1 night vision device. Sionyx aurora sport = game changing night vision tech!
Incredible NV camera for the $. Broad IR spectrum viewing. IR lights 850nm to 970nm look like bright flashlights. IR lasers within the same spectrum obviously the same. As a handheld viewer for security, hunting or boating, the sionyx truly performs. Everyone that has tried mine was blown away by the clarity. Turn on an IR light source and WOW is their expression. Will purchase another for helmet use.

Forget night vision - this thing is way better
This thing is FANTASTIC! I paid full price, real review. Been looking at night vision for some time and most have such a narrow field of view they are worthless viewing backyard - like looking through a telescope. Then if you use IR illuminator through window it reflects back and does not function at all. This is basically a super low level of light capable camera. This is definitely not comparable to gen 3 night vision as the video's on the manufacturer's website suggest. Those are very misleading. This camera / tech is probably more comparable to a Gen 2 night vision device. But for the price it does a decent job. The connectivity to smartphones is very useful.

best buget nods setup ever for yotes or hogs
Excellent! I got the Aurora on the pre-order. I'm using the kiloohm adaptive helmet mount on Etsy and it works great, I can walk around hands free and there is no lag in the viewfinder! but be sure to follow the setup tips for no lag. Low light, not night vision
I am in law enforcement and use this on a regular basis. Does it work? Yes! Low light issues it is PERFECT. In total dark, sadly it falls a bit short AND the wifi feature are the reasons why the 4 out of 5 stars. I bought this camera due to the fact I wanted to do surveillance in a “man made” dark area - meaning the inhabitants knocked out the street lights - without them knowing I was watching. The other camera I have had a noticeable IR light which this doesn’t. Yet, without SOME artificial light you are a dead stick. The wifi feature is cool, and an easy way to transfer pics and videos... but it is Gimmicky... meaning it will disconnect without warning which is aggravating. Over all this camera is a good tool to have. No matter if it’s for sporting or for work, it’s a wonderful addition to the tool box. The button layout needs to be readjusted and a better zoom feature... but other than those issues it is a solid device with many applications.

Tiny Viewfinder
Disappointed. The big beautiful ad photos are somewhat deceptive for this scope / camera. They heavily advertise a 1 inch square sensor but that's the interior electronics. The actual view finder that the consumer uses is about half the size of a small postage stamp. Its TINY! Also, there is quite a bit of lens distortion and color distortion in the twilight and night mode. Very limited usefulness. Its not really a Gen 2 or even Gen 1 night vision device. It doesn't work at all during the night in complete darkness. It works OK in twilight i.e., for about 1 hour at dusk and 1 hour at dawn. And the picture quality is not good enough for daylight use. Probably is OK if you need it for well lit street scenes and lit parking lot scenes at night.

Sionyx aurora sport = game changing night vision tech!
Incredible NV camera for the $. Broad IR spectrum viewing. IR lights 850nm to 970nm look like bright flashlights. IR lasers within the same spectrum obviously the same. As a handheld viewer for security, hunting or boating, the sionyx truly performs. Everyone that has tried mine was blown away by the clarity. Turn on an IR light source and WOW is their expression. Will purchase another for helmet use.

Forget night vision - this thing is way better
This thing is FANTASTIC! I paid full price, real review. Been looking at night vision for some time and most have such a narrow field of view they are worthless viewing backyard - like looking through a telescope. Then if you use IR illuminator through window it reflects back and does not function at all. This is basically a super low level of light capable camera. Has daylight mode, twilight mode and night mode. In total darkness will need an IR illuminator which I ordered for $8.00. Just got it, turned off lights in office, closed door and blinds, and looked in dark corners under desks in daylight mode and its excellent. Can see through windows easily and 42 degree field of view versus most night vision at 8 to 12 degrees. This thing should fly off the shelves at $399, it's fantastic!

Nice camera !
This camera is amazing, in low light conditions this camera is awesome, you need moonlight or ambient light, in total darkness you will see nothing unless you have and IR LAMP, definitely do the job.

A low resolution low light camera - not night vision though
This is a decent low light camera. Sensitivity is primarily achieved by larger pixels and by removing the IR filter which takes full advantage of the spectral sensitivity into IR of modern sensors. Here are the negatives: resolution is very low and on a moonless night it really struggles. This is definitely not comparable to gen 3 night vision as the video's on the manufacturer's website suggest. Those are very misleading.
