When deciding to invest in my first cutting machine, I did TONS of research before deciding to wait for the release of the Cameo 4. I've had it about 24 hours now and have experienced disappointment, frustration and hours wasted. Sauls;;;I purchased this model of Cameo for the advertised 5kg force of the second carriage a couple months ago with the hope to cut materials like basswood, chipboard, thin cardboard and such with the kraft blade. This week I received the kraft blades and they included special instructions from the seller to review some blog posts on how to properly use the blades. Despite following those instructions and any information from the manufacturer, I could not get a good cut with the kraft blades. The 5kg downward force is too much for the rest of the Cameo's axis and it ends up stuck and clicking away even with minimal force and depth setting. They just didn't design the rest of the machine to handle the 5kg, which is disappointing. It works great for vinyl, stickers, and cardstock. I had some problems with Pixscan so don't count on that working as advertised, but print and cut works fairly well. Overall, I guess I'm going to keep it due to the actually decent software, but I think I would have been happier with the capabilities of the Cricut Maker (even though their software stinks).;;Reviewed in the United States on December 8, 2019;;2.0 out of 5 stars;;Kraft blade is useless;;A. Mancini;;;This machine is loads of fun. I've never ever owned a crafting machine before so it took a little getting used to. There are tons of helpful videos and Facebook groups out there to help with the learning curve. Lots of people are frustrated with their cameo 4 but I guess I lucked out. So far the only issue I had were the registration marks not being recognized by my machine. The tip that worked for me: make sure the grid lines from the cutting mat are covered by your media. After I made a practice of doing that, I never had another problem with the registration mark failing to register. But the only things I've made so far are stickers, cards, adhesive vinyl cuts. I haven't yet tried cutting any fabric or other material since I didn't want to buy another blade until I mastered the basics. The included vinyl was oracal 651, some matte 641, some heat transfer, and oratape MT80P application tape. So far so good. I will update as I try more things. The only thing I really didn't like about this machine was the grinding noise it makes while cutting. Slowing down the speed helps a little but it's definitely still not quiet. I tried the advice suggested to push everything in better since apparently the way the machine is packaged causes people to perhaps move some parts unknowingly but that did not really help me alleviate the grinding noise.;;Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2019;;4.0 out of 5 stars;;Loads of fun as long as you don't mind some loud grinding noises to go with it;;Novembreskye;;;I've been wanting one for a while now, I love this thing!!
