The media could not be loaded. I have wanted a fireplace my entire life but could never justify the cost. A few years ago I got one of the tiny, fireplace looking space heaters, on sale for less than thirty bucks. It broke within a couple of months, but that short taste of getting to look at the dancing, faux-flames only strengthened my need for one of these. After a years long, continuous battle between the responsible, frugal-adult side of me and the fireplace-loving, inner child, I finally gave in and decided to find myself a fireplace when we remodeled our room in our newly bought first home. This fireplace happened to be the most affordable, cream colored option with good reviews. I don’t spend money on myself, if I do it’s at a clearance rack, 😂 so I thought I may regret this purchase. Well, I don’t! This fireplace looks so elegant! The cream color is just what I was looking for to tie in warm and cool white tones in our room decor. Great size, not too giant, like some of the options I saw in stores would have been. Best of all, it’s so relaxing and calming after a long day. My husband AND son, who never once expressed interest in a fireplace BOTH fell in love. My son is even asking for one for his room! Ha! But the kicker? THE CAT EVEN LOVES IT! He is constantly laying on top and falling asleep or sitting in front and watching the flames. Never expected that one! It is packaged in two boxes, one containing the actual heater unit and the other the wood pieces that make up the mantel. Assembly was easy for me to do alone while my husband was at work, took me about an hour or so, with a break to make some pancakes. 😉 Also wanted to add: I expected the heater would not be very good or useful at all really, but it’s actually really, really nice and heated our very large living room with high ceilings easily when I tested it there after assembling! Great for me, the iron deficient dork, who is constantly freezing! 😂 This fireplace has a lot of cool settings/options too, including: 1. 🔥 Flames- 5 settings of flame brightness. From a low-key, barely lit goodness to an amazing, roaring fire. 2. 🌲 Logs- 5 settings for log brightness to include a low, smoldering-ember type look up to as bright as the flames 3. 🥵 Heat- Has a thermostat, for the built in heater. Can be set to kick on at a certain temperature and keep your room the temperature you enjoy. 4. 🕐 Timer- Set your fireplace to kick off after as low as 30 minutes or up to as long as 9 hours. 5. 💡 Backlight- Optional lighting for the brick background behind the logs can be toggled on or off. I personally prefer off, think it looks more realistic that way. Included a video of our cat napping on it when we first brought it in, which also shows the flames, -thought that might be helpful- and a picture of how we decorated it later on. It’s currently holding a tv at the moment with no problem! So it’s a sturdy little piece! Overall we could not be more pleased with this purchase and don’t regret it one bit! I’ll update this review later on if we have any issues but so far so good after using it daily for a couple of months now! I paid for this product with my own money, did not receive a discount or any compensation for review, or anything like that. (I wish I got a discount 😂 I love my money and don’t enjoy parting with it.) Only took two people 1.5 hours to put it together and that is from opening box to plugging it in. Looks great, wood looks great, heater works really good. Just an FYI I don't give out 5 stars for pretty much anything, so giving this a 4 is really good. There is always room for improvement. There is a sticker a for California lead warning but all furniture has a CA warning that it could cause cancer. I would buy it again. ... show more

Wellllllllll............ We were very pleased with the quality of the wood pieces... very nice real wood veneer and real wood mouldings, beautiful stain and finish. I was pleasantly surprised. For the quality and appearance and comfort, I give it 5 stars. But if there was a separate rating for assembly I would give it about a 3. The pieces fit together with considerable effort - it took a lot of time to get right. First of all they had parts 3 and 4 numbering reversed... the two sides... after considerable head scratching we realized they need to be reversed to fit 2 to 4, and 3 to 5. Then the frame went together correctly. All other numbering was correct. The wood dowel system was poor - the holes were too loose (credit the particle board for that) and so parts wobbled terribly, even after securing the questionable cam-locks. We wrapped a little duct tape around each wood dowel, trial and error and very time consuming, so that the dowels fit the holes snugly. I say "questionable cam-locks" because the cams were also loose in the holes and it was very tricky to line up the little studs so they fit into the cam-locks to lock down in place. The little barrels that mate to the allen screws were even worse. We wound up fitting tiny little 3/32" wide strips of duct tape to the barrels so they were reasonably snug in the holes and line up ok. Some written word instructions would have been nice to supplement the pictures... with little cautions like "be sure to line up the studs and allen bolt barrels *first* with an extra stud/bolt before trying to fit pieces together". That saves a lot of grief. Another aggravation was the top piece. The flat part is mated to the crown moldings at the factory. This is done professionally with angled or "toe-nail" style screws from the underside, and looks great. The trouble is that the holes thru the inside piece line up directly with the recessed slots for the angled screws. So the screws provided were nowhere near long enough, and it would be dangerous to use longer ones to screw into those recesses or it could penetrate thru the front finished part. We drilled different holes from the inside an inch away from the recesses to get a good surface to screw into. Very careless of the manufacturer. The assembly diagram shows two retainer strips which I suppose are designed to hold the fireplace unit flush against the wood frame work from the inside. These were not included in either box. I was left to fashion something on my own. These were the only missing pieces... could have been worse. All in all, it looks very nice after finally completed. It took two of us close to 4 hours to assemble, and I am a pretty competent handyman kind of guy. I would NOT recommend you try this alone. Takes one person to hold things and the other to apply screws, cam-lock studs, allen bolts, etc. ... show more
