abunda_amazon_reviews purchased what was supposed to be brand new. These come with a 1 year manufacturer warranty. Started having issues with it, called the manufacturer and what do you know. It's out of warranty. Probably because it was sitting on the sellers shelf for however long and they didn't disclose that information when purchasing. But if your thinking you can plug it up and choose between performance, economy or towing then your wrong, you have too somehow find the tune you want from some other site then pay for it threw that dealer then you can download it.. I regret this purchase;;Reviewed in the United States on July 10, 2018;;1.0 out of 5 stars;;Big mistake;;justin moore;;;I like the programmer. It needed to be software updated via wifi at my house when it arrived. As all programmers need to be updated before first use. You don't know how long it's been sitting on the shelf... As far as mid-grade programmers go, this one is good. If you're looking to improve your vehicle's performance, mpg, transmission shift firmness/timing etc. at a reasonable price. Then this one will work just fine. I'd 100% recommend buying one. If you're expecting to get the most out of your vehicle via programmer, look up edge products. They're the best on the block but they're also twice the price. This programmer is a great budget buyer's product. Anyhow, after I updated mine, I had some trouble getting the program to finalize due to a married fault code or the truck "failed the marriage test" (as most Americans do). After fiddling with it for a couple of hours (because I'm too stubborn or dense, you choose idc, to call customer service) I finally got it to "reflash" my truck - return it to stock. Then it was able to upload the program of choice and finalize. It was the +65hp/transmission/egr delete and a couple of other things that I can't recall at the moment... The truck - I have a 2003 Ford F250 Powerstroke extended cab (supercab if you know Ford) with the notorious 6.0L V8 turbo diesel. This one has a "newer" tranny with 65k mi. on it, the egr deleted (so I don't know if the programmer egr delete was redundant or not) new head studs and some other minor aftermarket upgrades. It was running fine before I purchased the programmer aside from a few rough starts, rough idles and a slight tranny slip that wasn't noticeable unless paying attention and didn't happen often. But I knew I could get so much more out of it, considering it's a diesel. And a diesel without a programmer, is like an eagle with 1 foot (or 1 leg with talons? Are they called feet on birds? I'll Google that later..) It'll get the job done, but no where near as good as it could be... So, I have the truck programmed to my liking (I think, if any of you diesel monkeys have any pointers please let me know what I might want that I don't know about) as a first time diesel owner, I'm pleased with its performance with 1 big exception. That slight tranny slip that wasn't noticeable, is very noticeable now. But only when I'm on 30% throttle or more. If I stay around 20-25% throttle, it shifts better than pre programmer installation. I had firmer shifts programmed for 1 block and turned it off. It was slamming into gear. I don't know if that was ok or not because I don't know much about diesels or their trannies. But I do have a basic understanding of metallurgy and physics. So I decided it was best to turn off the firmer shift option.. It's now much much torque'ier/snappy. The throttle response is very impressive. Its turbo lag time is 80% less. FICM voltage is perfect at 48-49. IDK what info is important, I've posted photos of its readings at idle. Anyhow, aside from the tranny issue, I'm pleased with the overall outcome of my trucks performance with the SCT X4 7015 programmer. It gets 3 to 3 1/2 stars as a programmer & 4 stars for value. BUT, the vendor "XTR Performance" gets 0 stars! They were unbecoming after I made the purchase, before I recieved the package. I made the order on a Thursday, paid an extra $11 for 2 day shipping so I would recieve it by that next Monday at the latest. But they refused to ship it until that next Monday!! I emailed them Friday afternoon, they responded Saturday and said, "Amazon hasn't released the funds to us YET. We'll send it out Monday as we can see that the funds are there and will be released to us eventually" I replied Monday, "you see I made the order, the funds are there and that you're 100% recieving the funds. Why didn't you ship the package? Also, refund me the $11 I paid for 2 day shipping LAST WEEK! As I paid to recieve the package Monday, not for it to be shipped on Monday. They never responded nor refunded my money... IDC about the $11 that's not what's important. The problem is their conduct. They blamed the host site for their own shortcomings as a business and didn't have the decency to make up or show any effort to take accountability for their mistake. I fully understand that they need to be paid for their products and services and don't want to take any risks. But when they saw that the funds were there and that they were 100% going to be paid for their product and service, they should've done what any reasonable business would do. Shipped the dam(n programmer! I own and operate a business. Sometimes I'm very busy and have no problem taking a financial risk. Sometimes things slow down or don't go as planned so taking any financial risk could cause very unpleasant issues. But I always take them when customer satisfaction is involved. I can never be 100% certain that my risk will be paid off. It has so far, mainly because my business is face to face in clients homes. But there's still risk involved and every single business has risk in one form or another. Sometimes it's kosher to place risk over customer satisfaction. In most cases, especially this one when the risk near ZERO because its AMAZON who is now the financial bearer of under $400... Its absurd to say, sorry we're not going to fill an order as per customer that's paid in full because the wealthiest company on the planet owes us $355... While at the same time, in the same email say, but we'll fill the order later, even if they haven't released the funds because we know that they will eventually... That sounds more like, we don't feel like doing anything so here's a story for you. Sleep well! So in short, buy this programmer. I picked a 'performance diesel' shop and in addition to fixing my problem, asked them to look into my lack of power. The did a couple things but in the end, it was worse not better. I got this tuner and at the same time, discovered a crack in my MAP sensor hose (likely cause for lack of power). Fixed it and tuned it at the same time (so I don't know conclusively if it was all the tuner) but WHAT A DIFFERENCE. Like a new truck. Just be sure that the vendor is not XTR Performance!

Not the greatest...
I like being able to check codes, record performance info, and adjust things like timing, rev limit, gear ratio, etc. However, I ordered the unit with pre-loaded tunes installed. Tried the 93 Octane tune and the car started stalling and really bogging down in lower rpm range. But was really good in high rpm range. 91 Octane tune was a little better but not much. 89 Octane tune worked fine. Not much different than stock. Expected a lot more for nearly $400.

6.0 powerstroke
Neatest thing ever. I love it, made my truck stop acting like a slow diesel and I get better gas mileage and was able to do a lot of neat things like turn off my EGR. nice.

I was able to calibrate speedo to my tires which are much bigger than stock. Truck ran weird and mpg were off. The biggest problem was the transmission kept downshifting on the slightest incline until I calibrated the speedo. Little pricey for just that but if it saves my transmission some wear and tear then that’s worth it to keep this truck going as it’s a 2005.

My truck went from a dog to a stallion in 5 minutes....
I was on a 6,800 mile, 14 state truck camper trip. I was being passed by EVERYBODY, all the time. My engine ran well but didn't have the power others appeared to have. I got passed by guys with the same truck towing a 5th wheel....going up-hill....how can that be! On my way home, I had an issue that took me into a shop. I was thinking about getting rid of the truck before this but now, I'm keeping it forever......absolutely love it. It has more power and responsiveness that I ever thought it could.....unloaded on the highway, it can get almost 20MPG.
