  • Can’t beat it for the price but some caveats
Great for the price and it looks great far away, but know that you’re essentially getting paper with a poor adhesive that you hang on a window. Like I said you can’t tell from far away, but once you get close it’s obvious it’s cheap paper. Cutting directions are simple and everything is marked: cut desired amount from both sides just like it’s labeled. I think this won’t pose a problem for most people. Cutting with the recommended knife was very difficult. I badly wanted to use a jagged blade but stuck with it. Curious if anyone went with a jagged blade as it would have been done much quicker. I didn’t trust the adhesive as it was already flimsy when applied, so I drilled a single screw in the middle. If the sides begin to peel (which I am pretty sure it will once humidity changes) then I’ll probably have to put 2 more screws in, one at each side. We’ll see… ... show more

  • Work perfectly to fit ALL the windows in our new home
We moved into a new house about 3 months ago. I had about a dozen windows to cover and I didn't want to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on blinds. After looking around and reading the reviews, I decided to give these a try. If you're at all capable of doing simple home handyman type work, installing these should be fairly easy. Measure twice, cut once. Your best bet is to use something with a sharp SERRATED edge to trim these. Then just peel and stick. I'm pretty confident that these would stick just fine to our brand new painted sheet rock with the included adhesive tape but I didn't want to take any chances so I used some 3M type double sided adhesive tape for extra insurance. In retrospect, this probably wasn't necessary but I wanted to be sure they stayed up. They work perfectly. They provide privacy. They filter (but don't block) sunlight, and they actually look really good. Particularly since they all look uniform on the exterior of the house, even as we've started adding curtains in some of the rooms. They are very easy to lift and lower and they stay in place. Time will tell as far as longevity and durability but so far so good. I will say that they probably won't last too long if you have rambunctious cats or curtain climbing rug rats. But for the rest of us, these are an excellent choice for blinds on a budget. Two thumbs up. 👍🏻👍🏻 ... show more

  • never again
I have purchased these a number of times. The last 2 times they have been crap. They offered to replace them - but after a month the same thing happened. The adhesive failed and the line running through the blind broke so blinds could not be retracted. i am SUPER disappointed - because the first 2 I purchased lasted for over 2 years with no issued. Don't know what happened with the quality control on the newer ones but I would recommend AGAINST purchasing these. ... show more

  • Do not use your Kitchen Knife for this-
Some suggestions- Get a box cutter with a new blade. Leave the shade in the plastic wrap. Take off the end caps. My son simply laid the shade on the carpet and made a very clean cut with the shade on its side through all of it. Very clean cuts, no fuzz, took a minute. We did not use the handy dandy measurements on the package. We stuck the shades to inside top window sill. We did not trust the tape to hold for any length of time (reviews), so he added staples. When i pull the shade down I always use two hands to avoid too much pressure on the middle. It is plastic. They look great. the first shades I got had a ding in the package and a ding in one shade. They sent me another one with better packing. You have to cut from both ends in order for the strings to be centered. Measure twice, cut once, and don't forget to allow for the end caps that you put back on. You might want to pull the shades down and make sure they go back up before you staple them up. One shade (the replacement) does not want to go all the way up though you can gently force it to. I would have sent that one back too, but I was "over it" and sick of looking at a sheet. I use them every day. They look quite nice and do not scream "cheap" lol. Forget about the knife, forget about the bow saw, keep it simple :) ... show more

  • Lasting
Easy to install. Adhesive doesn’t hold all the time. Hard to adjust length

  • Incredible value and appearance with a few installation quirks
Note: I purchased the natural colored, light filtering shades. These shades offer incredible value at an excellent price. They look clean, modern, inviting and filter the perfect amount of light while retaining full privacy. Pros: They look great. Price for value is excellent. The stringless-mechanism works smoothly. Light filtration is perfect. High privacy. The attached cutting ruler is very handy. Cons: The adhesive tape doesn't cut the bill - they will fall. (See tips below) The suggested "kitchen knife" method requires a tremendous amount of force and is not advised for most. (See tips below) Installation Tips: Use a hand or hack saw to cut the hard plastic. Once you reach the fibrous paper, use a long, sharp chef's knife or cleaver to push down, hard, until you reach the bottom, hard plastic. Again, use the saw. Use the attached adhesive tape as a temporary mounting solution. Clean the mounting surface well and press hard to attach Once attached, use a heavy staple gun to permanently fasten the shades. Note: Even with the extra mounting work required these are 5 star shades at a surprisingly low price point. Enjoy! ... show more
