  • It's worth the money!
Color: Black
I've been searching for the perfect dish rack for over a year now, and apparently the 4th time is the charm! I was hesitant to buy this, mainly because of the price, but figured I'd give it a try after seeing all the positive reviews and photos. I've spent over $100 in the last year on total duds, anyway. It arrived looking just like the featured photos and was easy to put together. It's rather large, but we do not have a dishwasher and cook constantly, so that was a plus for us. My boyfriend and I let a whole weekend's worth of dishes pile up before this bad boy arrived, and ALL of them fit in the rack at one time. Granted, I did a little Tetris with the dishes as I loaded them, but I really wanted it to hold all of them so I could post this extra happy review. Check out my photos and you'll see how ridiculously large my dish load was. Previous to this one, I had purchased a Maxware 2-tier drying rack ( Maxware 23-Inch Dish Rack, Chrome ). It couldn't fit even half the amount of dishes and it wasn't sturdy. Don't hesitate to spend the extra money on the PremiumRacks model - you won't regret it. ... show more

  • This dish rack filled the void in my soul and brought true inner peace and harmony...
Color: Black
This dish rack filled the void in my soul and brought true inner peace and harmony, ok no, but damn it's good. After decades of buying basically the same wooden foldout dish rack, you know the one, plates on top, mugs and smaller on that little shelf under, I decided to try something new. This is the best damn dish rack I have ever seen. It was one of a number of products we had to replace after our house nearly burned down during the fire in Big Sur, CA last summer. Our house was saved, but the damage from ash and smoke kept up us out for 5 months. After spending days sanding and refinishing our redwood slab counter tops, I did not want to put another of those damn wooded dish racks on it. We moved back into our house on Dec. 22, it is March and I like this dish rack as much as a person should like a dish rack. It is perfect. The diagram for setting it up was designed by a small family of squirrels in Romania, so I was forgiving of not quite knowing what the hell the little diagrams were suppose to be. I really had no idea what seemed like an extra piece was for, so I put it under the counter. It was a couple of weeks later when I looked at the picture here at Amazon that it went on top of that thing and is for drying knives. Well Boy Howdy, that was an extra bonus. If you are reading this review, then just go ahead and buy the thing. It will arrive, you set it up, looking out the window to catch a glance of a squirrel giving you the thumbs up. And zoowey, you find your spouse/partner/special someone is doing the dishes, and filled with love and devotion, your children are suddenly saying please and may I. Spouse and children forget about their phones and the dinner table is filled with laughter and witty conversation. If you are like me, you wake the next morning to find the void in your soul filled with a peace and harmony that you never knew possible. Laughing you think to yourself, all those years of ECT and who knew that all it would take is a well designed dish rack. If you don't like it, well it is Amazon and they have the greatest return policy online, so return it and put a nice snarky comment under here questioning my intelligence, sanity and how the existential crisis of the dark night did not in fact go away. UPDATE: It is coming on two years since I purchased this dish rack and my opinion has changed slightly, it is even BETTER than I first thought. It get daily use, we have heavy Fishs Eddy plates and dishes and not a single issue with loading the entire rack with the dishes from a dinner party. It looks as good today as the day I opened the box. Every other month I wipe the rack down with a vinegar/water solution because my artesian spring water is mineral rich. Doing this has prevented any mineral deposits from forming. The only thing that is has not been very efficient at is getting my spouse to unload the dish rack, instead choosing to create a delicate balancing act to get just one more thing on. I would buy it again, except I do not need to! What is better for the planet than well made products that do not need constant replacement. Update: 5 and half years This product continues to be fantastic. I have been using it daily for five and a half years now and it is still in good condition. I absolutely think it is the best dish rack ever made. ... show more

  • Great idea, something not right with the plastic.
Color: Black
I was pretty excited about the design and potential for this rack, however issues arose immediately during setup. The top tier rack connects to the bottom by plastic clamps. You assemble it by inserting the metal legs into brackets on the clamp. And that's where the problem is. The plastic of the clamp is a hair too thin, and the material is rather brittle. It's delicate. The plastic cracked immediately upon inserting the first leg into it's corresponding hole. I then put a little dish soap on the second leg to ease insertion. That did the trick. But then when I clamped the bracket onto the lower wire rack, the plastic around leg #2 split. So... both plastic areas around the legs are compromised and can't support the upper rack. I gummed the thing up with epoxy and let it set overnight and that has my rack up and running now. But I would strongly advise against purchasing this rack. For its $50 price point, it's completely not worth it. The $30 kitchenaid rack it replaced was sturdy in comparison. Lastly, the drip trays fit awkwardly in the undercarriage. Doesn't seem to be designed to rest in there snugly. I hate to say it, but I'm not going through the hassle of returning this. Dish racks only last about a year before rust kills them. So I'll suck it up and slather epoxy all over this thing. But others should be wary. ... show more

  • The design and aesthetic are nice. Pros are all listed
Color: Black
The design and aesthetic are nice. Pros are all listed in other reviews. Product gets three stars from me because: - Drain tray doesn't drain. The plastic is warped such that the lip is a good half inch higher than the floor of the tray. I plan on heating and warping the tray to fix the problem, but I shouldn't have to do this with a premium product. - Product did not ship with assembly instructions. Not a huge deal, but a few pieces we non-obvious and required comparison with pictures on the internet to see what they were supposed to do. Again, not something I would have expected in a $60+ product. ... show more
