In the past, I have done most of my underwater photography closer to reefs and in more shallow waters, where there is better accessibility and it is easy to go in and out of the water without too much trouble. I had a friend who took some incredible pictures further out with an underwater drone and I loved them. As much as I like taking pictures of water wildlife, I am not one who is confident enough to carry my equipment into deeper waters while I lug oxygen tanks and tight scuba wear in deep waters. My friend was using an ROV to take some incredible pictures further out, but what they used was expensive and out of my price range. I started looking for other options that were more affordable and chose the PowerDolphin because the price was right and it had the same camera capabilities that the ROV had. I am not too techy, so the assembly was initially confusing, but I called the customer service line and they walked me through it pretty easily. At that point I was pretty comfortable with the purchase because I at least had someone reliable to go to if I needed help. I did not send it too far out into the water, but I got it farther than I would go if I was using my hand-held equipment. It took some pretty incredible pictures. Of course, as the water gets deeper, the images get darker, so I had to later adjust the coloring to make the colors pop. What I liked is that I was able to take pictures of areas I have not before, so it offered a more diverse portfolio. Purchased this due to high marks from several websites. Received and tested. It worked once. Second time I tried it thrusters were locked and could not get a connection to my phone. Unit started beeping whenever the battery was inserted. Power button would not work at all. Only way to stop the beeping was to pull the battery. I contacted PowerVision support who gave me RMA info, then immediately received another email stating I had to go thru Amazon. I have called the customer service number numerous times and still have not received a call back. I finally got an email response after getting Amazon to pressure them and now it has been 2 weeks of back and forth with them sending me back and forth to different departments. Bad product, worse customer service DO NOT BUY!!! ... show more

Well, I love the idea...... I loved it enough to spend 1,000 bucks on this. You can see where they spent good money on certain parts of this in the design process. Unfortunately, two of the most important items were not given enough attention or priority. The sonar was spotty at best. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn’t even start up. When working it was like a 50 dollar throwaway fish finder. Not work using at all. If you are going to add something as important to the fisherman as a fish finder, make it quality. I have a “deeper” bobber fish finder that is 50x better than this and works flawlessly. They need to reverse engineer a device like that, the same size that works great. The final and most important disappointment was the wifi. You would think that a wifi controlled device would produce good wifi so that you can maintain control of the device. Nope, this was obviously an afterthought that ruins the whole device. Do not listen to what they say as distance this operates. I tested it multiple times in a very large pond in perfect weather conditions with no obstructions. I would lose control of this at 40-50 yards. Wifi would just drop. Then the boat takes off and makes a mad dash back on its own and slams into whatever is in front of it. It hit the shoreline at full force multiple times. Thinking it had to be a phone wifi issue I switched to my iPad. Same issue, same distance. This was enough for me to return for a refund. I then dropped my deeper “wifi” bobber past the point this was losing wifi and it worked with no problem. I have hardly ever returned anything for a refund before. The two functions that are the most important for a fisherman were unusable and very cheaply made. Insanely disappointed as I really wanted this to be what they said it was. For 1,000 bucks, you think it would be. Only thing they seemed to spend money on was the battery technology. It worked great and lasted the advertised time. I’m very disappointed on this product. I watch all the videos and read some reviews with a lot of positive feed back. But I live in Hawaii and I was hoping I found the Holy Grail of all Rc boats that I can utilize it for fishing on our deep water but only disappointment it brought me. For a $1040.00 I paid for this product is a bust. It only give me 5 minutes of fun then chaos started. I have to swam 80 yards out to retrieved the boat cause the propeller somehow stop working but everything else works. I tend to believe that it’s not made for salt water. Besides my disappointment I’m returning the boat with a replacement. I did not inquire for my money back but I want to give it another shot. ... show more
