    • Really works!
I live in an 1890 Victorian apartment. The ceilings are high, so most of the summer days here in the Midwest are fairly cool inside without air conditioning. But when we had a string of 90+ degree days, the heat became oppressive. An AC window unit is not feasible due to there being only one window in my bedroom I can open for fresh air. So I tried this out. I filled the chamber with ice and a little water, and set to low, and put the unit by my bed so it would blow on me. I was surprised that the air was ICY COLD, not like fan air at all, but very cold! It immediately cooled my body and allowed me to sleep comfortably. The only reason I take a star off is that there's no way to turn off this fan once it's on. Cycling through the On/Off button (for different fan speeds) doesn't turn off the fan. So I have to unplug the adapter to turn it off. Also, for it's plastic build, I think it could be lower priced. But otherwise, no complaints, it really did work to cool me off! ... show more

    • It actually works!
I bought this evaporative cooler in hopes of cooling down my home office while turning up the central air conditioning in hopes of saving some money on our electric bill. I've only had this unit for about ten days now so I don't know if using it in conjunction with our central air has actually saved any money on our power bill yet. What I can say at this point is that this unit works well in small spaces like a small bedroom or home office as long as it is blowing directly at you. This unit doesn't oscillate which is fine with me because I aim it directly at me. The LED lighting is a cool feature, but I don't really use it that often. I was surprised how well built this unit is considering the price point. The fan is very quiet even at the highest speed. The only real negative I can say about the unit is that the reservoir where the water goes is too small. I put filtered water and ice cubes in the reservoir and it cools down the air blowing through it considerably. I thought this unit might make the interior of our home too humid, but so far it hasn't at all. I'll get about an hour of cool air with the reservoir filled up so that means you have to refill the unit fairly often. For the price, this unit is a no-brainer.     • Works suprisingly well! Almost as good as AC but way cheaper!
I've been looking for something to help with my hot flashes and night and I'm so glad I tried this. I don't usually like fans blowing on me but this one is light and pleasant and there's almost no noise. When you add water to the bottom it really cools effectively. My daughter made me turn it off the other night because it was freezing her. It's so nice to keep on my nightstand at night to turn off and on when I'm feeling over heated. It's not particularly high quality so I don't know how long it will last, but I'd buy another one if it broke and I couldn't return it just because I love it. My first one did start leaking water after a few weeks, but I was able to exchange. So far so good on the next one. I highly recommend this for anyone who needs a cheap and easy solution to keep them cool. It could only cool a small space so you might need more than one for a bedroom. One on both sides of the bed would probably keep you plenty cool. ... show more

I liked the quietness of the fan. I like the different settings like the timer and mist. Before I ordered it, I thought it would be colder and cover more area, but it really can only reach a couple feet and yes, it is cooler, but I thought it would be a lot cooler even with putting ice with the water. I use it by my bed and on my computer desk and it feels like the A/C got turned up a couple degrees but nothing drastic. Because of the mist, it feels a little muggy.     • Not what I was hoping for
Maybe I had my hopes set to high. I read room cooling but that's an exaggeration. It works on you if you are setting right in front of it. Great for individuals working at a desk. The air speed is also not nearly as strong as I expected. That is also good for people who work at a desk since it won't blow papers around but I was hoping for a stronger breeze to sleep under. The fog is very fine and won't get your face or anything else wet. The fog is so fine it is barely there at all. My husband thinks its cool looking and he likes it enough to keep it but it sure isn't what I was hoping for. ... show more

    • Good fan, but too expensive
I honestly thought after reading the reviews it would be a colder fan, especially if we added ice water to it. It’s just a normal fan. I paid $60 for it (and now it’s $30), and knowing what I know now I wouldn’t have even paid $30 as a simple fan would be good enough. I bought four of them for my room and my kids rooms, and one of them stopped working after 4 weeks. The customer service was so awesome! They immediately got back to me and sent a replacement. I have a window AC but that gets expensive and this little fan is great all of the fan speeds are really strong and feels really cool especially at night. It definitely helps A LOT during those hot nights. I also use it in the kitchen while cooking. The sound isn’t too loud it’s honestly soothing and helps me fall asleep. Works and looks good as a fan but doesn’t actually add a cooling effect. I compared the temperature of this fan with a normal box fan and there was no difference. If this item were sold as a regular desktop fan for maybe $25 I would buy it certainly doesn’t live up to its title of “Air Conditioner Fan”.
