It works great for blocking plosives 10/10. But if you use the Samson C01 with a spider like shock mount, the pop filter may interfere with the shock mount itself causing it to not mount properly.

I haven't been able to use this as the rubber rings broke. I attached the filter to the mic cradle as per the instructions and then left it. When I needed to use the mic there was no sign of the filter. I knew I hadn't removed it so I looked on the floor and there it was. Both rings had snapped. That's some poor quality manufacturing right there. Easily remedied with regular elastic bands but why so shoddy in the first place? It's like it was built to fail. On the other hand it was chronically inexpensive so why should I expect it to function correctly? ... show more

Thought it would be a waste of money but after testing with and without a filter its definitely noticeable. There's only one huge problem with this product... the BUNGEE CORDS tear way too easily. One arrived damaged and the second bungee cord followed only 14 hours later. Its comes with 2 extra Bungee Cords but i doubt they will hold. Should you buy? yes but buy extra rubberbands just incase. ... show more

I'm using them on a pair of old Oktava MK-319s. The fit is a little snug (the 319s are beefy) but they go on. They do a great job at controlling plosives. The 319 has a mesh basket around an otherwise exposed capsule so with no protection they're naturally very prone to pops but these filters cut it right down. I will probably buy more. ... show more

Good idea and design for a compact, low profile pop filter. Not very sturdy for repeated assembly and disassembly due to rubber band (no extras) and very small plastic hooks on which to mount.

I didn't hold out a ton of hope for this little guy, being its small stature, small price and what I assumed were super cheap materials. But for the price (and the promise of free returns) I thought it would be worth a try. I'm glad to report I was very satisfied with its performance. I'm a Composer/Sound Designer and do a ton of voiceover as well. I did a lengthy voice session last night using only this as a pop filter, after testing it extensively for its intended purpose of removing plosives. The thing was great! It wasn't too bad fitting it over a large condenser mic and using it for side-address positioning. It is definitely a minimalist design, but the construction seems to be good enough to last a long while. Shipping was fast, it came packaged well and the "chemical smell," a review mentioned wasn't even an issue. There was a slight smell when first opening the box, but that is what I call, "New Gear Smell," and I actually like it. It faded fast once unwrapped, btw. I figured I would at least need to use one of the traditional "pantyhose-on-a-hanger" pop filters in front of this device, but I quickly found this wasn't needed at all. I POPPED the screen many times during my voiceover tests (harder than I would ever need to in a real session) and this thing prevented them all. I do not agree that it prevents unwanted room sound or noise, so I use a big shield attached to the mic stand to accomplish this. The only minor issue I had, is that it does affect the sound slightly, removing some of the high-mid frequencies (I have a deep baritone voice) but this is more of a nitpick, which I corrected using a little EQ to sharpen up that part of the spectrum. All in all, I love this thing! It's a great solution to a bulky and sometimes very ineffective solution. ... show more
