  • LOUD
The Phanteks ( I 'upgraded' my the atx elvov x ) 500A Eclipse is a great case which you will quickly find yourself replacing the stock fans. THEY ARE VERY LOUD EVEN WITH PWM. Pros: Airflow is perfect, case is cool mixed with the MSI Cooliquid 360R Looks nice-ish ( I much prefer the build quality and design in the Evolv X) Fans are pretty and work well with others Nice and clean edges and plenty of cable management space Cons: Visually this is meant to compete with the LanLi Cool Mesh, get the LanLi if that's the case. The stock fans are a jet engine, you'll be buying new fans very quickly No Riser cable included ( yes I know it's a Phanteks thing, they need to stop ) They jammed the 3Pins into the case edge and mine were damaged upon arrival. Accessibility, it's horrible. You have to unscrew so much of it for basic access. The USB placement hinders screwing in the PWM Phanteks hub in the top left due to cables The front panel is a pain to remove for basic fan cleaning The Build quality reminds me of a mid 2000s case, it's a step down from the Evolv X The glass door sags and there is no way to fix it, eventually you'll have a gap. Get this case because the airflow is fantastic, immediately replace the stock fans are they are very, very loud. This case at the end of the day has better airflow then my previous Evolv X, but it took a strike everywhere else. If you are going for aesthetics, get the evolv x and have the panels modded. If you want a nice clean case with good airflow get this. Just know you HAVE to get rid of the stock fans, they are awful. ... show more

  • great case / fits 360mm aio
Great case. Love it. my first new build in over a decade. the tech is great and the space behind the mobo is genius for cable management. Cases back in the day did not have this. It looks awesome and was easy to build in. It also fits the artic liquid freezer 2 360mm aio with my x570s tomahawk mobo. However not all screw holes line up. But it is secure. One thing, attach cpu power first if its at the top of your mobo with that setup before attaching the radiator. it is a tight squeeze with cable extension. I also bought a 4x6 white in my case fridge magnet from cvs pharmacy that perfectly covers the hole at the front bottom of the case. ... show more

  • One of the Best!
Great case, big upgrade in airflow and size from my NZXT H500. Sleek and clean design and worth the price.... BUT, there is truly one issue I have with this case... the fans not being PWM... I looked all over the manual and assumed the fans were the SK140 DRGBs seeing that Phanteks doesn't market any non-PWM RGB fans on their website. I search alllll over the web to find out what types of fans they were (because I was being lazy and didn't feel like looking at the model number on the back of the actual fans lol). It was not until I searched through the Amazon question section and saw other reviews that I got the confirmation that these were indeed NOT PWM fans (I also figured they weren't when I went into my BIOS to mess with the fan settings and realized that when I switched them to PWM the fans went to 100% on silent). If Phanteks charged an even $150 for this case, even $160 and threw in the SK140s... this would be an easy 10/10... instead its a 9/10 (which is still an A, but its just not perfect lol). I highly recommend this case, but you will likely need to swap out the fans if you want true silence. Besides that, you got a nearly perfect case. ... show more

  • Function over Form
While lacking the frills that come to be expected with modern gaming PCs, the P500A more than satisfies with its excellent design and construction. A few highlights: - Solid and sturdy feel for both its metal and plastic components. - The side tempered glass panel has a solid weight to it and is designed to be easily removed and reinstalled. No messing about with thumbscrews here. - Spacious wire management area with built-in retaining straps. Practically the entire bottom fifth of the case is open if you do not install HDDs. - SDD mounting brackets provide snug cushioning while still being easy to remove. Their location, flush against the motherboard mounting wall, keeps them more out of the way than traditional drive bays. - Front grille has minimal obstructions while accommodating three 140mm fans, providing excellent air intake. - Despite the number and size of fans, the case is surprisingly quiet, even under load. Some complaints and gotchas: - If you wish to use the case's front I/O buttons to control the case and fan LEDs you must NOT plug the D_RGB cable into your motherboard. This will let you control the LEDs using the motherboard, but completely disables the LED buttons in the front I/O. - Just two USB 3.0 ports and 1 USB-C port is pretty sparse for front I/O. I'd recommend purchasing a hub, or making heavy use of your motherboard's on-board USB slots. - The case, despite being able to accommodate a large number of fans, lacks an integrated fan hub. Don't make the same mistake I did: get an aftermarket fan hub! (My previous case had such a hub, hence the mistake.) - The side panel is held in place only by magnets, so transportation issues may arise. - The side panel also has no dedicated handle, just a too-small cutout in the case itself to try and get a grip. Keep a microfiber towel handy to wipe away the inevitable fingerprints. ... show more
