First, I highly suggest you listen to folks who say to be very careful when putting the magnet back onto the wall strip. It's got SERIOUS pull and I can see how some people got fingers caught and injured. I held it carefully by the sides, making sure no body parts were past the back edge and everything went smoothly. I'm in the process of remodeling my VERY old (1950) kitchen and streamlining my cooking area as I go. These magnetic strips are absolutely perfect for having my knives close at hand but not being dulled in a drawer. As you can see, I bought 2. One for knives and one for measuring spoons (shown) and measuring cups (I still need to buy those). The spoons can double up and still hold nicely (Gorilla, here on Amazon). I wanted to try them first before I bought the cups to see how that would work. By doubling them, I'll have space for the gorilla cups ... which I'm off to buy. EDIT: after much review, magnetic measuring cups seem to be the wrong plan. I've purchased a nice set of stainless steel measuring cups that I'll hand on magnetic hooks instead. Enjoy! ... show more

    • Double sided tape didn't work for me but still happy
I was hesitant to drill into my wall but after the magnet started falling even with a ton of gorilla double sided tape, I decided to make it permanent. I think my knives are particularly heavy though. I'm happy with it, it looks nice, and I like not having a logo on it
