The instructions include three ways to assemble: Straight and L-shaped with the short end on the right or left. I needed the L-shape like the photo on Amazon shows with the long end being 43.7" and the short side 19.7". If you follow the instructions, the long side will be 43", but the short side will be 32". If you reconfigure the shelving, which is ~not~ in the instructions, you can get the short side to 21" but then the long side is 53". The corner I wanted to place this unit had specific limits to size, so I needed the long side no more than 43" and the short side no more than 22". However, there is no way to get those measurements. I ended up placing the unit in a different corner, which will work but is less than ideal. The unit is otherwise as expected. It is adequately sturdy. It looks nice and as expected. Just beware of the measurements on the Amazon photo, they are not quite right. ... show more

I’m very handy and good at putting things together. This was by far the most annoying thing I’ve had to put together. That being said, it looks great put together and I will be avoiding using one of the shelves for heavy items. I added a few pieces of wood to the top of mine because I wanted more shelving but couldn’t justify paying $80 more for the bigger shelf when I had these pieces of wood lying around ... show more

We bought 2 of these units to make an exposed pantry off of our kitchen. We weren’t sure if we were going to be able to cobble them together but not only did they go together easily but we had enough left over for a stand alone shelf. It wasn’t the easiest to put together but definitely wasn’t the hardest. I’d recommend 2 people for most of it. There was some ikea like hardware that didn’t really work but we purchased and used some L brackets to secure the parts we were concerned about and it did the job. They are super sturdy and hold a lot of stuff. And I think they look pretty great!! ... show more
