Description

Dynamic aspirations from the Omega Seamaster collection... ultra-precise, ultra-reliable men's GMT chronometer is rugged and masculine in premium grade steel. Certified chronometer automatic movement awarded by the COSC (Swiss Official Chronometer Control). Strapping brushed steel case is presented on the signature link bracelet in satin finished steel with polished steel highlights. Skeleton crystal caseback reveals the intricate movement inside. Blue enamel bezel with screened markers and a brushed steel outer rim frames the blue dial with luminous skeleton hands and hour markers. GMT second time zone hand has an arrow indicator. Set a course for adventure with this classic Omega Seamaster stainless steel men's automatic chronometer watch, part of Omega's James Bond collection. You'll be able to negotiate all manner of adventures and still look stylish in the boardroom or at the baccarat table. This highly accurate, self-winding timepiece--which features Omega's break- through the Co-Axial escapement--is also a great diving watch, with water resistance to 300 meters (984 feet) and a helium escape valve, which allows helium to escape from inside the watch when the watch is worn in highly pressurized environments (such as long-term underwater work or crude oil exploration). Definitively masculine in design, it features a large, round silver stainless steel watch case with a rhodium-plated finish that blends brushed and polished surfaces and measures 41mm wide and 11.5mm deep. It's topped by a durable aluminum unidirectional bezel in blue with silver markings, which frames a blue dial background with luminous hands and dotted dial markers, as well as a window at 3 o'clock for the automatic date display. Other features include screw-in caseback, screw-locked crown, and scratch- resistant and glare-proofed domed sapphire crystal. It's completed by a silver stainless steel link bracelet band that offers polished highlights, which is joined by a secure, push-button clasp. Originally created in the 1750s, the first chronometers were clocks that were accurate enough to calculate the longitude of a ship's position. Today, the chronometer label is bestowed upon timepieces that have undergone precision tests and received a certificate from the official COSC (Control Officile Suisse de Chronometers) regulatory organization that rigorously tests and certifies (or fails) watch movements for chronometer status.

  • The one must have watch for your collection!!
This is a classic watch that I believe is being phased out by Omega, which I why I pulled the trigger on buying this when I did (I bought mine through Amazon about a year ago). The Seamaster GMT has a very beautiful blue dial which is almost identical to the basic Seamaster. The only difference and my ONLY complaint about this watch is that the Omega logo is painted and not raised like the basic version. I believe this is because the GMT (red) hand is lower to the dial than the hour hand. I definitely LOVE the sapphire glass back that allows you to see the movement. On the backcase. The GMT model is the only one in the Seamatser 300M line that has this feature (as far as I know). The accuracy is spot on. Weight is a bit heavy, but I don't mind it at all. The steel bracelet is solid and has an additional diver feature that allows you to extend it so cam wear over your dive suit (I'll admit that I did not discover this feature until recently). The 41mm is an ok size, but I think I would prefer it a bit larger (which they don't make for this model). Overall this is an amazing watch and after a year wearing it, I haven't any complaints. I totally recommend this watch. I love this watch so much that even though I dive, I would not wear it for fear that I would scratch it on coral. As for my purchase on Amazon... OUTSTANDING!! I found it for the best price. Shipping was super fast, like you expect with Amazon. Packaging was well done. All boxes were immaculate and came with all the papers and standard Omega warranties, PLUS Amazon gives you an additional warranty!! I was a bit hesitant initially to order a watch like this online, but I can confirm that Amazon does a fantastic job, so have no fear. My final thoughts: If you are on the fence about buying this watch, do it now. You won't regret it and probably won't find it for a better price from a better dealer! You will love this watch!! ... show more

  • Amazon omega 2535.80.00 Seamaster
All great reviews and a great watch. However, Omega does a piss poor job of price protecting their product, hence re-sellers like amazon diluting their value. The question you must decide to ask though, is whether you are willing to give up the factory warranty when buying grey market.....I'm not sure I am, so amazon provides a nice bargaining position ... show more

  • The Perfect Buy
At first I was a bit hesitant about buying though Amazon but my experience was fantastic. Easy purchase process, quick delivery and the right product. The only regret was not waiting for the US$ to devalue further (It would be a better buy today!) I would not think twice about buying through Amazon again. ... show more

  • GMT for the true James Bond
If James Bond really existed, he probably would have chosen this version of the Omega Seamaster watch with the GMT function. He travels a lot so it would make sense. I considered buying the cheaper version of this watch without the GMT function, but I need to know GMT time a lot since my job runs on GMT time. Since I typically only remember that country X is -5 GMT, or -13 GMT, it is a lot easier to figure out their local time by converting straight from GMT rather than taking my local time converting to GMT and then to their local time. The watch face is intricate, at sometimes it appears almost black, but under a bright light you can see that it is is two tones of blue. Setting the time on the GMT watch can be confusing at first, through a combination of three different crown positions and 2 different bezel positions you can set hour hand only, GMT hand only, minute hand only, manual winding, etc. The see-through back is nice, it makes it really different from other Seamasters. I like looking at the back of watches to see the little pieces move. The watch is heavy, it's definitely a man's watch. I wear it everyday, no point buying an expensive timepiece just to look at it. The watch seems decently accurate, I think my version is fast about +5 seconds everyday. So after a week, my watch is about 25 seconds faster than my computer which is syncing up with the internet time. Apparently you can get this tuned but with mechanical automatics watches this is normal. ... show more

  • Watchmakers Advice
I am rather opinionated when it comes to luxury watches. This comes from spending 2 years in watchmaking school, studying directly under the guidance of a certified master swiss watchmaker who came here from Europe. Watches, especially mid to high grade swiss watches, are a passion of mine. I am not loyal to a brand or a style or anything else. I judge them for what they are, in terms of quality, function, construction, and style. A watchmakers point of view. This said I will tell you that this particular watch is what I consider to be a "best kept secret" sort of watch. This is an AUTOMATIC watch (read: Mechanical - NOT Quartz), and of CHRONOMETER grade function. Chronometer as used here is a measure of accurate timekeeping, not quality - a point often misunderstood - and is used mostly from a marketing point of view by companies such as Rolex. HOWEVER. This movement in THIS watch is actually EXCELLENT in terms of quality, time keeping ability, and construction - easily comparable to other Swiss made movements from other famous manufacturers costing several times as much. This watch, properly serviced, will provide a lifetime of use - and probably more. Absolutely the sort of watch you pass down to the next generation. All in all - and EXCELLENT choice - especially for those seeking their first QUALITY Swiss watch purchase. Definitely recommended! ... show more

  • Gotta Keep it!
I bought this watch when I was a collector of sorts so this was my scuba diving watch. It is perfect for that and I wear it everyday and even use the GMT item to know what time it is in Europe when I play video games online with others. This watch is durable, accurate, great to use and easy to use. I sold most of my others but this one stays with me. If you can get one BUY IT! No I don't work for Omega or any type of store. ... show more

I have had mine for over seven years now. I wear everywhere. Work, play, dressing up snappy. Everywhere. It has taken a heck of a beating and continues to work beautifully. I have it serviced regularly and have no complaints at all. I would buy it again, without hesitation.
