abunda_amazon_reviews I wrote a review of these a while ago, but I wanted to rewrite it after having owned three of these lights for a few months and after having sorted out some issues with Neewer support. It's a long story but to summarize here are the issues and their resolution: 1.) With the first two lights I purchased I found that the ball socket could never be tightened enough to securely hold the lights in a given position. The socket would always slide no matter how much I tried to tighten the thumbscrew. After close inspection I realized that the thumbscrews on mine were designed so that the actual screw was just short enough that the plastic knob would hit the blue metal bracket before it was fully tightened. They FELT tight, but the ball would always slip. I contacted Neewer support and they immediately sent out two new thumbscrews with longer threading that actually tightened correctly. It seems this thumbscrew has gone through several design iterations. 2.) All three lights had LEDs that failed after a short amount of use. The failure mode was that a single LED near the edge would die, causing the adjacent LEDs to be overdriven. On two lights it took about an hour of usage for this to happen, on the other one it happened in just a few minutes. I was able to return one to Amazon, but the other two were purchased elsewhere and out of the return window. Thankfully Neewer support sent me return labels to their office in New Jersey, I returned the other two, and they sent me two new units with the assurance that they no longer have the problem of the failing LEDs. The two new lights arrived (with a newly and better designed thumbscrew) and I can confirm that after a few hours constant use they have had no problems at all. The same goes for a third purchased from Amazon. Also the cases on the first two had zippers that failed on first use. These also seem to have been improved on newer units. I guess this product has had some issues with early units but Neewer seems to have largely resolved them. If anyone reading this experiences any of these issues with failed LEDs or bad thumbscrews, I can say I had a great experience with Neewer support. I only communicated via email but they were friendly and eager to resolve any issues. Now on to the lights themselves. I also own a pair of Litepanels Astra EP daylight LED panels which are widely used in TV and film, but I really like these little Neewer lights for certain applications. Yes the knobs on the back feel a little flimsy, but man these things crank out a lot of light. When you have both the daylight and tungsten LEDs up to full you get a nice wash of very bright diffuse light from a compact fixture (that is with the diffusers installed). I also love the swivel mount on the Neewers. With the ball/socket swivel design I can quickly switch these light from horizontal to vertical depending on what I am shooting. This is great for some types of up close photography. Overall now that the issues above have been resolved I am quite happy with the these lights.;;Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2019;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Great lights after some issues sorted out;;ctx1050;;;I bought 2 sets (4 lights total) of these lights. They seem to be fairly solid and are extremely bright. I can't complain about the brightness or color adjustments. I used them for a 2-day event where we were conducting interviews and they worked well. I can't comment on the longevity of the lights as I've only used them for a few days, but so far no issues. The padded cases are ok, but not great. They don't really provide a lot of padding and the power supply just slides around in there, but it's far better than no case at all. The color adjustment knobs worked well as expected. CONS: The light stands are not of the highest quality, but they're certainly solid enough to hold these lights without any problems. The biggest complaints I have are: 1)the power supply cord length needs to be about 3 feet longer. When the light stands are raised to about 5' the power adapter will hang precariously in the air. That causes unnecessary stress on the barrel plug that goes into the back of the light panel. and can't be good for the power adapter. 2) The battery terminals are flimsy and are hard to properly align with the battery. I was able to make them fit eventually, but you should be able to simply align the battery and press down and lock in place, but that didn't happen as easily as I would prefer. Final thoughts, I've purchased many Neewer brand products and most have been great. If you're a professional or are using these lights all the time, then you're probably not even reading this or considering these lights. However, if you don't need professional quality (and $$$ price) lights, then these will probably do a great job for you.;;Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2018;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Impressively bright for their size;;Jimmy Jam;;;If you're looking for bright but yet affordable lights, look no farther because these ones are the ones you should get! Video lighting 2. Event lighting. Wanted to have both capabilities in one package From my research, the brightness is medium in is price range. Yet when I tested it out, I'm pretty satisfied with it's performance for lighting an area at night. I got the 2 light kit without stands because I wanted to get the taller light stands which the kit with light stands don't come with. My only concern was mixing the bi color LEDs to get maximum brightness. But now that I tried both color temperatures at once, I actually think it's more natural with it mixed. As a video light I wasn't too concerned because my A7iii has amazing low light performance. But for event lighting, it serves a secondary purposes. The build quality is decent though nothing too jaw dropping. I'm sure it's better than most cheaper video lights. Neewer does a good job. The only improvement to this with be an L shaped power adapter connection. Once this light mounted at 7 feet, it would be nice if the power adapter cord isn't bent while it hangs down. The only thing the competition has going for them is more brightness (which is probably unnecessary) and remote controls which would be nice for the event use.;;Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2018;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Impressive and bright enough.;;Thomas;;;Just got these lights to replace a larger LED light Kit. They run off of cheap Sony batteries which is an awesome feature over my other field kit. I guess the feature of both color temps is a neat feature but I'd rather just have 5600K for shooting. Impressive and bright enough.
Bought these for two purposes. 1. The only thing the competition has going for them is more brightness (which is probably unnecessary) and remote controls which would be nice for the event use.

Seems to be an awesome purchase
Just got these lights to replace a larger LED light Kit. I was surprised by the small size of these lights(I probably should have looked at the dimensions first). This wasn't a bad surprise as I will use them for field shooting. They run off of cheap Sony batteries which is an awesome feature over my other field kit. I guess the feature of both color temps is a neat feature but I'd rather just have 5600K for shooting. Overall I think I will like these lights, I plan to order more today.
