  • Great Card, poor sale
Size: RX 5700 XT Style: RX 5700 XT GAMING X
I own this card already and love it. Runs most games with zero issues, get solid frame rates in everything. Can’t even complain about the thing. Purchased another to improve my render times in things like Blender, etc. Purchased a used card that was listed as VERY GOOD condition and received a card that seems refurbished. It has a busted housing around one of the connections. Has me concerned about whether or not the card will fail on me now that the connection is loose, and the wire has zero slack. Seems like the wire was replaced or improperly placed, feels like it’s going to unplug itself. I provided a side by side as well, used card I purchased is on the left, original card I owned on the right. The used card I purchased has different fans, makes me wonder whether or not they’ve been replaced. The factory seal sticker has also been removed from the used card (it’s a little white dot on one of the screws [see card on right]). It shouldn’t be missing unless it’s been tampered with. I would’ve liked to have known I was purchasing a refurbished card, rather than being told it was a used card in “very good condition”. I don’t know what seller would consider this very good condition but the connection and broken housing alone makes this poor for me. (UPDATE): Their customer support was great, as helpful as possible and I appreciate that. They were very polite and offered what they could, for that I’ll add another star ⭐️ ... show more

  • One of the best 5700 XT designs yet
Size: RX 5700 XT Style: RX 5700 XT GAMING X
Ill do my best to keep this about the product, despite AMD's driver issues. So this card easily beats out all the other 5700 XT's in one way or another. The PCB is well made, the cooler is excellent. The gaming X has a 9 Phase design, only comparable to the Red Devils 10 phase PCB. And thermals.. lets talk about thermals. Almost every review has the Gaming X beating out every other and MAYBE head to head with the Nitro+ only in GPU temp. The gaming x wins hands down in thermals/noise nearly across the board. And has the lowest VRM temps 10c lower than second place. Being the nitro+ I believe. Gamers Nexus has a great review with the Gaming X/THICC/Pulse/Nitro+/Gigabyte/TaichiX side by side. The heatsink on this thing is CHUNKY, and rightfully so to handle that 225w TDP. Its a massive improvement over the Evoke. Which imo didnt belong on a 5700 XT. If the memory temps have been fixed on it then its a great small form 5700 XT so it has its use for sure. But if the 2.5 slot design isnt an issue and length may be. This card beats out all the other longer triple fan designs. Only the nitro+ can go toe to toe with it. And it does trade some blows. My max temps so far under load in gaming/3dmark: GPU:58c-63c MEM: 61-65 HOTSPOT: 68-72 VRM: 52-55 Thats with the fan profile bumped up a bit I believe my profile is 20%/50c 30%/60c 40%/65c 55%/70c. Since I use headphones fan noise doesn't bother me. All in all no issues so far, even driver related on 20.2.2 atm. Make sure to DDU in safe mode. Then install drivers. Specially going from Nvidia to AMD. My ONLY gripe is there only being 1 VBIOS. Personally I dont and havent ever messed with a VBIOS, never needed to. But other might. And its a safety net. Thats honestly worthy of a star since all other competitors seem to have dual bios. And from what I have read, AMD left a spot on the PCB for a dual VBIOS option. So no excuses there. Anyway. So far so good. Kills everything I have thrown at it in 1440p ... show more

  • First AMD GPU I've owned and ZERO regrets! AMD Value is wonderful!
Size: RX 5700 XT Style: RX 5700 XT GAMING X
Couldn't be happier, the most taxing games I've got is Metro Exodus, COD Warzone, and Beam NG, all on ultra settings I can hold a solid 100fps on a 1080p@65HZ monitor with V sync off. Turning it on gives a great game play and yes with some work you can in fact Ray Trace within the software but it takes a lot of FPS to achieve it. I wanted a 1440P@120hz card for the future and testing that on my tv with high graphic settings will hold about 85-100 in most areas of the games. Depending on what settings are on you can get it higher but this meets my goals personally as ill be stuck with 1080 for at least the next year. Either way very happy, this 5700XT equates my buddy's 1080TI in the games we play together. I haven't tried overclocking above MSI's settings yet but I'm sure it can be improved even more. This card will get warm, I suggestion changing the fan control settings to keep the fans on and moving air constantly so you don't get a stagnant air pocket around the card or worse...heat-soak. If its hot and you get a sudden demand you can thermal throttle quickly but also shorten the component life. Eventually I may water cool it but top temps I've seen with a custom fan control us like 68*C under load and 34*C at idle, where stock I noticed 80* and idle would hang around 60*. Take some time to adjust and performance will be better. I couldn't imagine the AMD stock blower cooler on this... the dual fan and shroud MSI built is a great design overall, very impressed but make sure you measure your case!!! This is a big boy card!!! Your not gonna fit this in your MATX HP pavilion without hacking the case. ... show more
