Ok, so over the arm, as it’s supposed to be used it meh. It’s very small and rather hard and you end up with your arm pointed straight over your head for it to work. Not ideal. BUT using it in the arched position, as kinda a bridge under my neck from my shoulders to my skull, while laying on my back, has been literally life changing! I don’t sleep on this pillow. It’s too hard for that. But when I got to bed and want to read or play word games or whatever for an hour before I sleep, I pull this pillow out and put it under my neck while I lay in my back. And it gives this really nice stretching kind of traction pull on my neck and upper shoulders. Using the pillow this way has significantly reduced my neck joint pain, it’s reduced my chiropractor visits, it’s reduced my muscle spasm induced headaches, and it’s just absolutely amazing how much this little pillow has done for me. I have hyper mobile joints and so having a pillow that can help actually put my neck joints back in place is just heaven. None of the pictures show the pillow being used in this position so I’ll have to see if I can add a picture later, but seriously, if you have neck problems that applying a stretch from your shoulders to your skull might help, give this pillow a try. Again, it’s not soft, it’s not great to sleep on, and it’s rather small. But this thing has made my quality of life sooo much better. ... show more

This pillow is laughably small. Maybe if you were a child it might be adequate but for an adult, it is pretty uncomfortable. The padding is minimal and you feel the inner plastic frame when you lie on it. It is so small that an adult's head is as wide as the pillow making it uncomfortable. Purchased because I can get sore shoulders when I sleep on my side. Tried to use it like illustration and HATED it! Luckily, tried it in different positions and hit on the best one ever! Flip it over and it's great for when sleeping on my back, good support for my head and neck. Then, when turning to sleep on my side, the edge of the pillow is right there, no mushing and shifting the pillow to get to the edge. It keeps it shape so it doesn't mush down during the night. For tossing and turning, (which I do) it is the perfect width. No need to shift from one end of the pillow to the other to be able to breathe. I just did not like this pillow it wasn't too hard or too soft and I thought it would help with my boyfriend's arm so I could like cuddled up but it didn't really fit his arm I don't wish it was more flexible so you could kind of being or molded to the way you needed to be. With one rotator cuff injury I sleep mostly on my side, but the "good" arm was being stressed by so much use holding my head. This pillow seemed to be the answer and I had high hopes I'd found my solution, especially looking at the photo on the ad, which is misleading. The protection of my arm worked fine. But the slope of the top of the pillow made my head fall to the sides once I relaxed. I tried and tried but could not find a way my head/neck would be supported sleeping on the curve of the top. This is disappointing, but thanks Amazon for letting me return it, so I can try again to find something that will work. ... show more

This is very well designed. Just big enough to do the job of holding your body weight off of your shoulder when you lay on your side. There is a stiff form inside the soft pillow to hold the shape. Perfect. I love it forever.
