abunda_amazon_reviews I made this harder than needed. #1/#2 are key to shortening the buffing time. 1. Use odd number sanding pads up and down, spraying the lens often with water. 2. Use the even number sanding pads side to side, spraying the lens often with water. 3. Be liberal with the polishing compound ( I was NOT and it led to multiple polishing reps!) and buff with a clean microfiber towel! I did 4 headlight lenses and still have enough polishing compound to do 4 more. I also chose NOT to clear coat the lenses, as it is only good for a year and adds to the sanding woes. Expect milky residue from the sanding, cleans off easily. I suspect, if I keep the lenses clean, I may not have to polish again for many months. I did not pay close enough attention when ordering this kit because I held meguiars products on a pedestal and was very disappointed when I received it in. I was able to buy the UV protective sealant locally at an auto parts store however that set me back $10 on top of the cost of this product. I would not recommend this kit to anyone unless you already have that sealant on hand. If you look at the main competitor being turtle Wax you will quickly find that their kit which is priced a little cheaper does come with everything you need. When a headlight is still newish looking as in tjhe case of my 5 yr old 2015 Toyota corolla this product is not for you. The pads are of a low grit and easy for minor to moderate hazes. But using the Pads in fact actually scratcjes the lights. You need to be careful. Please apply the constant wetting method. Because you are sanding by hand and cannot move with the sleed and vigor of a machine, you are going to scratch your lights. But please understand that all scratches / imperfections can be solved with Machine wetting and sanding methods. Machines are required for effective polishing. The moral is, if your lights are not badly hazed, this product should be used in the capacity of polishing using Plasti-X only. So remember using the sand paper on a minor to semi-minor hazed surface will scratch your lights. You can polish the lights and it should look ok. Remember thr bulk of your work should be with pads 3 and 4 for that microfined look of reducing the scratches. After applying the Plasti-X, remember you make still not be satisfied so please do me a favor and get Meguiars headlight clear coat spray for that finishing look. Remember using these pads on a semi-smooth lights will scratch tjr lights. So proceed woth caution and only enter this realm of ligjt restoration if the hazy look becomes unbearable.
