Purchased this winch for my 16 1/2 foot Lund. The first time I used this it stopped with the boat about 2 feet from the bow block. I used the hand crank to finish pulling the boat the last 2 feet. I contacted customer service and explained the problem and sent them a couple pictures. They were very understanding and mailed me another winch that I received in a couple days. This winch arrived in the beginning of April 2019, I stalled on July 20th, 1st use on Aug. 4th then on Aug. 11th...broke on the 2nd use, no phone contact..only email option or Skype or Facebook, I don't do Facebook or skype...will use the email, but not very hopeful on any positive results, like a replacement or refund my $$$ at this point, would no recommend this item to anyone ... show more

1st the threads stripped when I used the manual crank, then it would not lock so my boat kept slipping backwards, then when I got it to the lake it could barely get my boat onto the trailer, over heated twice and shut off. It is VERY VERY VERY VERY slow. This is not made for any boat that weighs more then a few hundred pounds. My boat is 3000lbs, it cannot handle it. ... show more

Like the product and seems to work well. 3 Notes:: Comes with no mounting bolts: You must use the remote as there is no switch on the winch itself: and the pully has no swivel so if you eyelet on our boat is up down and not side to side your cable will be slightly twisted. The winch itself I’ve used three times so far to Laos my 22.5’ boat into the trailer. She’s a heavy deep V and it has performed as advertised. Be aware that the manual handle is of poor quality thin / soft metal that bends easily and has already started to ‘round out’ the flat sides that give it grip on the shaft. I expected a heavier gage harder metal for this type of application. However if you use the manual Handel only if the electricity isn’t available it should be fine. ... show more

I have 3 fixed mounted winches on various UTV. The problem is when you need a winch it always seems to be mounted at the other end of the vehicle. I have a Ford F150 Raptor and it's just to pretty to take into really rough stuff. I used the UTV's for that, but even still I have been stuck in mud twice with my Raptor and "high centered" on a stump. All 4 wheels were off the ground. I had to walk home and go back the next day with 2 floor jacks, Take the weight off the stump, crawl under the truck and cut 1/2" off the stump with a chain saw. I believe just a little pul with this Megaflint winch would have solved my problems. The company seems very helpful and I would suggest throwing one in a tool box just for peace of mind. I bought the Megaflint Trailer Winch,Reversible Electric Winch, for Boats up to 6000 lbs.12V back in May of 2019 and have had very good luck using it on my boat to load it. I had a couple minor issues with it so I contacted customer service and they were on top of the issues right away. With hardly no questions asked they took care of me. They are sending me a new one incase the issue returns so I can swap it out. Otherwise this has been a great winch for my boat. I would highly recommend it.
