I've worn an aid in my left ear for about 7-8 years, until it died at the end of December. Several false starts on replacing it, including an excellent option, if I was willing to pay almost $2000 for it. (I wasn't.) This one works so well, set on volume 2, that I often forget I'm wearing it. However, I'm wary of a tubular system that I'm supposed to replace every 3 months! With my previous aid, I only needed to replace its battery, about once a month! My other, larger concern is that it is very hard to open/close the battery door, and impossible to remove the battery except by pushing it from the back with something pointed, like a pen. I'm wondering if the mould of this one part was a trifle too small? The company wasn't any help when I called. I think I'm keeping it, but just not quite comfortable with the problem. ... show more

Sound is uneven that makes watching television acceptable but conversing with anyone provides muffled sound that is louder than not having aids. Overall better than nothing. I cannot recommend these hearing aids. They are more like amplifiers than hearing aids. If you can't afford hearing aids from an audiologist these aids are better than nothing. ... show more

I purchased two pairs if MD hearing aids, this model from Amazon, and a more expensive set direct from MD in Chicago. Out of 4 hearing aids, I got two that work. The other two, one of these and one of the more expensive model, are completely dead right out of the box. This wouldn't be a deal breaker, but the non-existent customer service is. After spending more than 2 hours on hold, I finally got a human at MD by selecting a sales person who promptly dumped me back into the recording / hold loop. I next contacted the BBB in Chicago. I probably should have done this first! The b bin formed me that MD was listed, not accredited, and rated as low as it is possible to be rated. In other words, they have a terrible reputation. All this just to let you know of my experiences. Your might be better, but somehow I doubt it. UPDATE Customer service called me back this morning. The rep was very courteous and has replacement devices on the way, including a prepaid shipping label to return the two defective devices. We discussed everything and I am completely satisfied. I will be forwarding a letter to the Chicago BBB to let them know of my experience in MD correcting my issues. My thanks MD Hearing Aids and thanks to Amazon. ... show more

My first hearing aids cost me about 3 K and I hated them. After doing everything I could to get used to them, I donated them and tried MD. They are much more natural in sound for me. They are easy for me to use, no I do not want to adjust them with my phone! No hearing device is like real hearing but these are way better than not hearing. This is my third set. ... show more

This product is a hearing amplifier not a hearing aid. If you are in a room with a lot of ambient noise the noise cancelled out the ability to hear a group conversation. Also I felt the 'behind the ear " type of hearing device is not too efficient in any way. Today wearing a required mask in a store, the devise gets caught in the mask , also the behind the ear aids are large and difficult to conceal with small ears. They were not very comfortable and could not wait to remove them at the end of the meal. I think there are some folks that might find these behind the ear aide helpful but for me they are not useful. ... show more

I have worn expensive hearing aids for several years, and I decided to try these after the government removed the restrictions on who could sell the devices. I have paid thousands of dollars for hearing aids in the past, was interested to compare the quality of these reasonably priced ones. To my surprise these are just as good as the very expensive ones, and in face are more comfortable and easier for me to adjust and use. Sound quality is good, and they cut down background noise, so good for conversation so I don't have to keep asking people to repeat themselves. That is the whole point. Great price during BOGO offers OK with eyeglasses, but you must take care not to knock off the hearing aid. The little ear pieces are too easy to detach and lose. i have purchased two sets of these hearing aids-- the second set because one of the pair failed on the first set. THEN, the same thing happened with the second set. VERY POOR VALUE FOR MONEY-- unless you want to spend $400 every four months. i am currently looking for a different manufacturer
