abunda_amazon_reviews Please Amazon you probably need to not sell this item! You guys were excellent in helping me return the first one of these I ordered because the auger didn’t work. The second one arrived very fast but must have a bad controller. Manual requires you to season grill on high setting for 45 min. After about 10 min it was melting and bubbling the paint off and could not be turned down. The fire was starting to burn up into the auger tunnel and into the hopper. I had to quickly unplug and empty to hopper. Very, very dangerous. I tried calling Smoke-Hollow but they do not answer and require you to try to use a defective website. It’s a real no go on this one.;;Reviewed in the United States on January 31, 2020;;1.0 out of 5 stars;;This Grill is 2 Strikes and I’m Out!;;Gregory Rike;;;This thing almost burned down my house. I tried to remove one from the other leg, but these things are pressed in, so there's no way these two just fell out during shipping. Clearly a QC issue. Not a big deal, since the grill body provides enough stability once tightened down. Easy enough to use, but temperature control is terrible. The lowest smoke setting generates temps just shy of 300 degrees F. The lowest temp I can manually set it to is 167*F, but the internal temperature at that setting will fluctuate from 310*F to 340*F. Funny thing is that as long as I manually set the temp to over 350*F, it will hold the set temp. This grill will not smoke (other than the few seconds during initial ignition). It arrived in a large box but wasn't that heavy. I recommend asking a buddy to assist with the assembly but can be done by yourself. After cutting the ties around the box, I actually didn't know you can lift up the box instead of taking each individual part like I did. Assembly directions were somewhat easy to follow but kind of vague on which direction to screw it in. Another issue is that the cover for auger was completely different than the instructions but still worked well. After building, it is recommended to season the grill before cooking to get rid of the manufacture chemicals on the inside of the grill. We originally had issues starting it up but once we open the lid and set it to smoke, after 2 mins, I got smoke! Since I was doing this outdoors at night it was quite cold so the temperatures were being weird and the readings were giving us weird numbers. I looked at the wiring and adjusted the temperature probe inside so its not touching parts of the grill. This fixed the weird temperature readings. Also, the default setting for this pellet grill was giving me way too high of a heat to smoke and couldn't do a standard 250-275 degree Fahrenheit. I had to adjust my P setting which is hidden behind a rubber cover near the temp display. You have to remove that and use a small pin, press the button to change the P setting. The manual shows what each P setting does but does not tell you how to change it. I read in a forum that it is not recommend to keep changing the P setting so once you find that desired setting, leave it. The main issue I encountered with this smoker is that the temperature display will fluctuate up to 15 or drop 15 degrees so it is recommended to use a temperature probe or at least a oven thermometer to give off accurate temps for this pellet smoker. There will be times where the temps will be stable but overall not too reliable. Another issue is that the main grate itself moves around easily which is not good. The top grate is somewhat fine since it attaches to the top instead of being loose like the main grate. Also, recommended to wrap foil around the drip pan to make it last longer and less messy. I also had to buy a wet/dry vacuum to remove the ashes from the auger since there's no drain for it. It's recommended to clean up any ash to prevent clogging. Or you can buy a Ash vacuum to be safe but never vacuum hot ash! Overall, once I got everything settled, I was able to cook about two pieces of tri tip on the main grate and about 7-8 sausages on the small top grate. This is a good learning pellet grill and recommend to get! UPDATE: Installed High Heat resistant Gasket Strips around the cover to prevent smoke from leaking. Recommend to install! Did two racks of pork back ribs recently in about less than 50 degree Fahrenheit weather. Took about 6 hours since temps kept spiking up to 350 during random times so I had to lower temps frequently. The ribs on the back of the grate were a little bit overcooked and dry since there's more heat generated there but the ribs on the front were cooked perfectly. Both ribs were wrapped in butcher paper on the last few hours. I used up about 2-3 lbs of pellets so it does burn a lot pellets. One of the issues I noticed is that the Pellet box always has to be filled. The design on the pellet box makes it where the pellets drop to the auger but only on the center. Once the center spot of the pellets are used, the surrounding pellets won't drop down to the auger. They added a grate to indicate that you're low on pellets and prevent your hand from touching the auger but pushing the pellets towards the center to drop down the auger can be annoying if you're running low. The pellet box contains a release hatch to release any unused pellets after you're done smoking but since there's a non removable grate, it's hard to push out unused pellets to the hatch. Overall, I'm still learning more about this pellet smoker. It works well and still great for beginners!;;Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2020;;4.0 out of 5 stars;;Great starter pellet smoker;;Jay;;;When I saw that this was on sale for $144 I finally pulled the trigger and bought it. The assembly was very straightforward. The pictures and the way the hardware is packaged are pretty straightforward. It seems like either the nuts are the bolts came with lock washers attached and they also give you lock washers and I'm thinking that on a couple of areas they may have doubled up. But that's no big deal. Things that I noticed that are less than perfect, the LED readout is fairly hard to see in bright light. The display alternates between the temperature setting in the actual setting and in bright light it's very difficult to read. It seems very good at holding the temperature and I've used it with both applewood and hickory and it seems to do a great job. One thing I will mention is that Amazon has a link for support for the device that takes you to a dead masterbuilt page. The dreaded for 404. Lol. Honestly I think anybody wanting to get into an introductory pellet grill / smoker would be very happy to play with this one. It is fairly small put for a small family I think it's perfect. After playing with this if I were to build the perfect smoker oh, they would have levelers on the wheels and a separate crucible for the smoking and the heating components of smoker. But then again did I mention it was $144? LOL even at 300 I think this thing is a great buy;;Reviewed in the United States on January 25, 2020;;5.0 out of 5 stars;;Worth way more than its price;;Me
