abunda_amazon_reviews Dislike , assembled and used once. The second time we went to use the smoker it wouldnt stay lit. Amazon directed me to Masterbuilt directly and it is near impossible to reach masterbuilt. So I have spent an incredible amount of money between the smoker and accessories and purchasing of a 100 gallon propane tank to go with it only to not be able to use and not be able to reach anybody for assistance! Highly disappointed and do not recomend.;;Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2019;;1.0 out of 5 stars;;Horrible.;;Christina Hebert;;;It worked well for the first two or three times. The burner requires you to keep the temperature nob pressed in for a good couple minutes while the unit heats up enough to keep the burner going for the temperature sensor. The burner will not stay lit, it is hit or miss. I have to check the smoker every 20 minutes to make sure the burner is still going. This had been a colossal failure of purchase and I wish I had gone with a different brand or unit. Pay attention to the negative reviews, they aren't far off on the accuracy of their complaints. I gave Masterbuilt the benefit of the doubt because I had one I used for a few years before the bottom rusted out of it. I thought this design would be a vast improvement over the previous one I had and that is why I gave it a chance. Don't. Spend the money elsewhere. Buy a wood/charcoal smoker instead, at least you don't have to wonder if your flame is still burning or if it went out over and over. It also does not generate as much smoke as I think it should.;;Reviewed in the United States on August 5, 2019;;2.0 out of 5 stars;;Won't Stay Lit. Temperature Control is Not Precise. Parts not so much. #'s are associated to parts, but no # on the part. The door needs a gasket, which I ordered one to install which will stop some of the escaping smoke. The Thermocoupler is awlsome. it keeps the temp + or - approx. 10 degrees. Gets up to temperature rather fast, which is great. Have cured the inside and will be cooking on it later this week. It was packed in the box by a Tetris Master. Plan on spending about 30 minutes getting it out of the box. Once out of the box there were a couple bent flanges and a small dent on the door. These were easy to move back in place and did not effect assembly. Overall the instructions are fairly straight forward. When attaching the burner one side of the mounting surface is flat and the other is not. The burner housing is flat on both sides. It will fit correctly as you tighten the screws the burner housing will conform to the base. This is not clear in the instructions. When you are putting the legs on pay attention to the instructions. Each leg is different, they will all fit in each position but you will not be able to attach anything else if any are in the wrong place. Most of the assembly is done with the smoker upside down. Don't tighten anything until it is all assembled. This allows you to adjust the fit while assembling. Be sure to tighten everything before turning the smoker upright to finish assembly. It isn't called for in the instructions but I found it was easier to lay the smoker on the back while routing the temperature probe. This allowed me to use gravity in my favor. It’ll maintain the temperature it thinks it is. Mine is about 10 degrees low, so I set it ten degrees higher and problem solved. I used a laser thermometer gun to get the actual temp and adjusted accordingly. -Whoever created the packaging for this probably also invented Tetris. I’ve never seen a box use every single inch of available space so efficiently. It was like taking a puzzle apart. -go ahead and budget a few hours for assembly. Assembly was fine if you take your time. At first, my unit kept blowing out. Couldn't get it to stay lit for longer than an hour, sometimes less if it was slightly windy. Contacted the company and they suggested a few options. After following their suggestions, it has never blown out again. Sometimes the temperature dial is dead on. Other times it's about 15 to 20 degrees off. I use a grate level probe to monitor temps. A 17 pound turkey is about the size limit inside of the smoker due to the location of the unt"s probe. After adjusting the sensor, smoker has worked great! Decent amount of smoke but you will need to refill the chip pan multiple times for longer smokes.
